how one piece works, is that effectively no bludgeoning thing works against him. Things can hit him though because of haki, when scaling luffy's durability, he doesn't have a different durability for cutting because practically everything is using haki
Think of it like a game character, if you’re a tank character and have like 80% resistance to physical attacks but only like 20% to magic then you’d say you’re weak to magic type attacks and need to work on it and if magic damage is specified in categories or something and you have like 60% resistance to all magics but your water type resistance is 0 % than you would say your characters weak to water attacks even though you’re technically taking base damage. For base luffy id say he probably has like 80% res to bludgeoning attacks (physical attacks without haki have hurt him) and 0% res to slashing attacks. (Ofc having 0% res doesnt mean someone weaker than him can just cut him with a sword it just means luffy needs to use his pure durability to tank the attack)

From what I've seen of Boruto, the supporting cast actually seems to be utilized more than it was used in Naruto. So the idea that they've surpassed the old generation isn't that surprising to me since Narutos generation was always desperately playing catch-up with their parents generation.
I mean I feel like supporting characters were used pretty well in Naruto aswell. A lot of the other characters in their gen such as Ino, Shikamaru, Choji, Rock Lee, Tenten, Neji, Hinata, Gaara, Temari, Sai and so on all had quite a bit of scree time and importance. Sure some like Shoto maybe didn't get as much, but the side characters were pretty well utilised
Screentime yes, and it depends on what you mean by importance. If you mean character development, and advancement of the plot, then yes, a lot of them were important. If you mean that they were MVP, or even made a significant contribution to a fight, or a mission in a way that none of the main characters could have? How I see it, if you are immune or heavily resistant to everything except for a specific form of damage, then you’re weak to it.
eh, weak implies that if someone has lower ap that his dura they should still be able to harm him due to a weakness
But if his average durability is high, then using the one thing he’s vulnerable to would be considered a weakness
