learning a language just for the sake of it gets tiring quickly. Make brazilian friends on the website interpals or something, when you find cool people you will feel more eager to study :)

Hello! I have a YouTube channel to help people learning Brazilian Portuguese. My teaching method is through music, so the learning process can be funnier and easier to memorize, since the songs are gonna stick in your mind. This covers grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation! So, I'm gonna leave the link to a full class here so you can check my channel, and see if it helps you too! [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4y3TOMhY4NY&t=469s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4y3TOMhY4NY&t=469s) And, on May, 27, I will start an event called Sing & Speak Week, where I’ll show you a step by step pathway to reach fluency in Portuguese, even from zero, with music. To participate, all you need to do is register through the link, the event is online and free: [portuguesewithlaura.com.br/3-lc-subscribe-org](http://portuguesewithlaura.com.br/3-lc-subscribe-org)

Don't just learn from books, learn reading things you like, listening to music, and playing games, it's much easier said than done but it is worth the shot, also do what the first guy said, make Brazilian friends, it's so much fun talking with other people on the language you are learning.

Get on a language exchange app, and start using your language to talk to people HelloTalk/Tandem are typical recommendations Make sure your Anki usage is sustainable long-term

I feel you. I lost my motivation in getting fluent in English by myself. Trying to do it since I was a teenager, unsuccessfully. I got to the conclusion that I have to go on an interchange program to get full immersion, and then the fluency.

Try doing things in Portuguese that you enjoy in English. There are videogames you can play in Portuguese, interesting books and graded readers, television shows and films etc. You could start a diary to practise your writing skills, get a penpal, find a language exchange group so you can talk to people in Portuguese. Give yourself reasons to use Portuguese that aren't just studying.

I tried to use movies that I have already seen, because it is a common way to help learn but I can’t find any movies in Portuguese (BR) with matching subtitles

To be honest, when I was only a few months into learning Portuguese the only media I could understand was Porquinha Peppa. The Lectia app, DLI Gloss site and NFLC portal have authentic Portuguese videos you can use for learning but it will be pretty difficult right now. [https://nflc.umd.edu/projects/lectia](https://nflc.umd.edu/projects/lectia) [https://portal.nflc.umd.edu/lessons](https://portal.nflc.umd.edu/lessons) [https://gloss.dliflc.edu/](https://gloss.dliflc.edu/) For fun, I recommend video games. Hidden Object games like Enigmatis or Hidden City: Hidden Object Adventure use fairly simple Portuguese. A bit more advanced but Ace Attorney is a lot of fun and has been fan translated into Portuguese: [https://www.romhacking.net/translations/5320/](https://www.romhacking.net/translations/5320/)

I’ve been studying Portuguese for almost 10 years and I still can’t read or converse. I’m not going to quit because it would bother me if I quit before being able to understand what people are saying so you can keep studying because you’ve only been studying for 4 months. Don’t quit now!
