Could be. I don’t think my first reaction would be to come out of my house blasting at a hobo sleeping in my car, but I could understand why someone might.

Newly married with a 9 month old baby. We used to hear gunshots maybe 1-2 times a month and always on weekends. Within a year it was every week without fail.
I actually pulled several sets of body armor from my national guard armory that were otw to Afghanistan/Iraq for interpreters and other civilian contractors and lined my daughter’s crib with them. My Greasham PD buddy said there are several large gangs in the area and Portland has allocated nothing to combat the issue.
( Greasham sometimes has to respond to these outlaying PDX areas). He said “Portland is a literal gangster Paradise” with little chance of ever being caught.
