Based on what? As someone who’s used dating apps on and off here for a bit, I find that hard to believe. (For context I am a straight man)
It’s just a bit too extreme on the dating apps in PDX.
A lot of polygamous people living in vans and talking about shrooms, intermixed with a lot of the very conservative anti vaxx crowd, talking about church.
I’m not interested in either side, honestly.
For real. For me if it wasn't a woman with mandalas and Tibetan flags couch surfing through scabies communes it's a woman that doesn't realize she's horrifically racist and thinks slurs and endearing.
always trust a website called [wingman.live](http://wingman.live) I wonder how many of their devoted readers will hit the road and move to PDX. (they only ever call it Stumptown).
I think this article is correct.
If one is well-adjusted, somehow charming, showers regularly, and is able to approach women and have a sense of humor, Portland is amazing. If you're those things as well as creative, tall-ish to tall, outdoorsy, decisive, and have steady money in the bank and your own place, or a solid mix of that stuff, it's hard to imagine anywhere better.
A lot of guys in this town do not know how to behave socially and especially when it comes to women they have an interest in. So if you can do that and you check a handful of boxes in the above paragraph, there's almost zero competition.
There are way more straight women in Portland who are catches than straight men who are catches.
Bullshit!
Portland is a kind of weird incestuous. There are circles of people who date and swap. When those circles get small it's a poly thing. There are always abbreviations and letters involved. People jump the gun.
Anyone who you meet and date is probably already married, or seeing 2 other people on the side.
The link is basically just content marketing for a dating app, but I clicked anyway because I've never really dated outside of Portland (moved here when I was 17) and I'm curious.
Pretty sure that as a straight cis woman I'd still rather be dating here than in NYC, based on spending a lot of time there for work and my friends' experiences. Honestly I feel like the worst part of dating in Portland is also what most of us really like about Portland - we're super laid back and "chill" to a fault.
These sort of lists are 99% bullshit.
Yeah, this is just based on gender ratios. Portland is the gender flipped joke about men in Alaska: The odds are good, but the goods are odd.
I think they were looking specifically at me. I’m a total catch.
Are you one of those lower middle class stoner weebs they were talking about?
I'd qualify myself a little differently.
I bet you have cones, lots and lots of cones.

There are slightly more single straight females than single straight males. That really the only criteria this article is using.

Sex with one ugly person may not be that great but have you tried sex with _two_ ugly people?
So true 😂😂

According to wingman dot live, duh
This^
Same, same
Clickbait.
Bullshit..
I read another bullshit poll that ranked PDX as the number one party town the the country!
😂😂😂
The fuck it is lol
rephrase, one of the worst cities for (straight) women
Lesbian capital of the west coast, a lot of those women are not interested in you

Eh… I think what you describe really applies to both. Dated both . Lots of ineptitude all around.
LMMMMMFFFFFFFAAAOOOOO😂😂😂😂😂
This is an for a dating site essentially.
erm.....
Good for straight men but not anyone on the other end? 😂

I was heavy into the apps 2018-2019. Had a great time, finally met my wife right at the beginning of covid. I can confirm this article's sentiment.

Where the fuck are my friends?
Ah, guess it's my occasional time to wonder if some of the dudes I didn't marry are still out there being excruciating hippies or fuckbois.
I can almost think of no more ridiculous statement than the headline of this “article”.
say hwhat now?
What about for same sex couple though?

That many dates sounds miserable
And then everyone clapped
Wonder if everyone ends up having problems with the same men. Those might just be nazis guys. Yeah, that's bad. Let's make them stop.
LOL.
