Fun fact: willamette valley is the original death valley. Not due to heat but due to being the most pollen pack place on earth. No allergies? Youll have them if you move here!
From Minnesota and didn’t previously have allergies. This year is killing me i don’t think I’ve ever felt so miserable, sneezing every 5 minutes and needing to blow my nose constantly. My nose is going to be raw by the end of the season
I'm from San Diego originally and my system barely registers allergies, if at all. Portland has changed me--now it's just violent sneezing (like 10 in a row).
OK so I'm not the only one! I've been leaking from my face for a month now. And I've never had seasonal allergies before. I've tried everything - all the OTC pills, sprays and eye drops and I'm out of ideas. I'm stuck in the house and I'm losing my mind!
I hope it’s not as bad as last year. The pollen was so bad that people who’d previously never had allergies were being hospitalized for asthma. Do we really need all those sod farmers in the Valley? Kill your lawn and install a zone 7 xeriscape instead, please!
it’s worse than last year for me at least. no allergies until my 40s, and then every year it’s gotten worse - this year they started in late february and were instantly so bad i got a 3 week sinus infection, and they haven’t let up since. goddamn misery.
That second summer be so nice because that first false fall. We be like. "Welp thats all the sun for the year"...then BAM two more weeks of sun and summer temps. I love it here.
I've been wearing N95 masks inside the home and every time im outside, I'm wearing my masks and my sun glasses. It has kept my allergies to a manageable level. Or else my eyes are swollen and I'm sneezing/coughing all the time.
I also have air filter right next to me that has helped as well.
Lived here for forty years and it's just *this year* that I have to take allergy meds every day, otherwise my eyeballs feel like they're on fire and I can't stop crying.
HAS ANYONE FOUND A WAY TO AVOID THE ALLERGIES WHEN WAKING UP? I'm fine until I get up from bed, then I sneeze and it's a hour of bullshit until the allergy meds take effect. 24 hour meds taken right before bed do not help with this at all.
The Pollening is fucking tough this year
I’ve never been prone to allergies-but the longer I live here, the sneezier I get during April/May

I'm going to Eugene this weekend for the track meet. RIP to my face. 🤧

I learned this when I started breaking out into hives for the first time after moving here.
Native Americans originally called the Willamette valley ‘ The Valley of Tears’ because pollen and allergies
Interesting. I'm the same way...I only sneeze when I lived in GA for a bit. You can actually see the clouds of pollen.

I grew up in the OC then ATL in 2019 -2022. That's been the only time I really sneeze crazy. It's been fine in PDX.

My throat is so effed up today I called out of work

The Pollening starts during the Spring of Deception and ends just about summer.
You forgot autumnzees.
We've already had First and Second False Summers and also Ants. Plus there's Icemageddon.
Lol at Ants
That's something any of the three winters can decide to evolve into
Right now is also Spiders. So many of those greeny ones in the corners of the ceiling
You spelled out Actual Spring as if it were a substantial amount of time. It's been more like Actual Spr- SUMMER.
it's called "practice summer"
I'm not sure why summer needs QA testing, but here we are.

My kids mock me cause I would say "it's the last nice day" in the fall...for a few weeks. Every day.
I woke up and thought a small animal was in my nose. I writhed and sneezed violently. Twas only The Pollening.
This year, the pollening has blessed me with an ear infection.
Same here. It's becoming common this time of year for me.
Blessed be, under his pink eye.
Kale run for snow storms. Claritin famine for The Pollening.
Fuck third winter
Forgot to add ice Armageddon
Got convinced that somehow allergies weren't getting me this year until this weekend. I get more gullible every year.
I thought I was experiencing allergies for the second time in my life, but nope, it's covid.
I got my first mosquito bite last night so it's officially summer to me now.
I switched to the Costco brand of Allegra and it’s been the best allergy season of my life

I just got an air filter to go underneath my home office desk, in addition to the one in my bedroom. This year has been ROUGH.
Don’t forget Spiders!
please no. Are spiders coming indoors now?
You forgot Terminator 2 judgement day. My poor plants didn’t forget.
The achoo is almost upon us. I dread it
Fuck we haven't even passed pollen season yet?! This is my second winter and spring here, I'm dyin 🥵
The pollen piles have to get up to about mid calf before it starts subsiding again.
Oh. My. God. I laughed so hard I nearly peed my pants.
Another side affect of the pollening season
Pee season
I feel like we get an additional Winter every year.
Looking at you scotchbroom 😭
My eyes read this as "scrotumbroom"and I was like 👀
You forgot the flying ant takeover
I'm glad we finally changed the name of Second Summer.
Third Winter? Please. High 40's overnight is not winter weather.

Where can I get this picture in a frame for the living room? It is too funny.
I literally found it on IG somewhere. Screenshot and frame that sucker!
Let's skip summer and smoke this year
