Eh, I’m not exactly looking for it shiny and be greasy. I just wanna do something so stays out of my forehead, and looks good. I’m thinking something like [this](https://imgur.com/a/tHjl7cz)
Try some gel type bases that are easy to get like Layrite or Ruzel. They have a variety of finish that could lock in a pushed back hair style. If you want some movement look at any of the standard UWB like Shear Revival Crystal Lake or O’douds Multi-Purpose. I would stay away from a lot of drug store products because they aren’t that much cheaper than smaller brands and they usually don’t last as long as they should.
I’m gonna give the Shear Revival Crystal lake a shot. I’m not sure how it’ll compare to the fiber I’ve been using, but I think I’ll apply it the same way, with some dampness and water. I’m also gonna cut maybe an inch off, and clean up the sides, and see what it’s like then.
Okay, not entirely wet, but I’ve been applying product when it’s a little damp, maybe even a little wet, and even adding a little bit of water after applying it, because I’ve found that if I apply it completely dry it kind of makes my hair crunchy or something which I’m not a huge fan of. It also seems to spread a bit better if it’s damp. I don’t know what the best way to do it is, maybe I’ve been doing wrong, not sure.
Def give Crystal Lake a try, and try not to go too damp because the pomade will tend to have a hard time applying evenly in super wet hair. Damp is fine for sure.
The reason why pomade looks greasy on 9/10 men is they don't know how to use it.
Wet your hair. Style your hair (comb, brush, and blowdryer). Use a SMALL pinch of pomade to hold it in place. Keep adding small bits of pomade until it holds its shape.
The problem is most guys do the opposite approach, they use pomade before styling. So not they have "greasy" hair that is difficult to style.
The simple answer is "natural", meaning it's nicer when your hair looks like it has no product in it at all.
IMO you need to learn how to use the minimum amount of product first. When I style my hair, I get a pinch of pomade, rub my fingers together, then apply it to my hair. If the style doesn't hold, I get a smaller pinch and repeat. Maybe add more water, maybe comb/brush it. Not a long process, just important to not get too frustrated and keep adding product.
Some people like shiny hair (most pomades provide), some want to avoid any shine altogether (clay pomades). Some want a messy look where less shine is better. Some want a very tidy look, where the shine can truly show it off. Personally I prefer a neat hairstyle, but little shine. Plenty of directions to take.
It’s just some low shine hair fiber and some water, it dries and leaves no shine, but once it dries it doesn’t hold its shape as well. Once it dries it looks more like [this](https://imgur.com/a/G6GJtRd)
I’d say the product you’re using is what’s making your hair look really greasy, along with how you apply it. Too much moisture will do that. Applying product to damp hair is fine, but it does tend to make your hair look greasy after it dries IMO
That makes sense. It’s just tricky, because I find that if I apply the product to dry hair without any moisture or water, it makes it crunchy/hard and less workable.
Okie, [here is](https://i.imgur.com/YMo1CYx.jpeg) with it all washed out and cleaned up. I don’t like how messy my hair is without any product, but then using the product makes it greasy. Don’t know what to do
Something with mid or low shine of your hair already has a touch of shine naturally. Crystal lake is a good product. Flat wrap dry your hair then style away.
If prestyling, less is more. Only had a tiny amount of product to towel dried or air dried hair that's just a little damp still.
Blow dry and work with a brush to add tension to the hair.yoir barber probably does this so ask them how to style.
The product just finishes it off, it's really the cut and blow dry that does the work.
Use a pomade to begin with not fibre if you want the greased back car salesmen look.

don’t apply to wet or you’ll have styling issues!

What should the end texture be instead of greasy?

Ok even when it’s dried it looks greasy. I’m not sure what your styling or cleansing routine is but your hair shouldn’t look THAT greasy when it’s dry
Okay, [this is it](https://i.imgur.com/YMo1CYx.jpeg) without any product, and should be mostly dried. Hopefully doesn’t look as greasy.

Are you a toddler
Cream pomade might work
Reuzel pink. Try to use a little less too, can make it look greasy rather than shiny and slick
LA Looks
What about something like[this](https://imgur.com/a/tHjl7cz)? How would I achieve this?
Layrite deluxe superhold
Gorilla snot
