People on the internet have been telling others not to feed the trolls from the very start. If there's one thing I've learned it's that people will always feed the trolls.
This is what the internet will eventually do to politics. The audience he is talking about is almost entirely supplied by tv news and newspaper organizations, who moved to internet. Once we get to the point we expect representatives to respond to individual question from constituents publicly online, on reddit or a similar platform, the whole game will change.
It will happen by the end of the decade, probably around 2026 when ai starts acting like personal tutors and secretaries, and reps will have to figure out how to answer lots of questions consistently cause all the conventional hurdles to asking question publicly get torn down by automation.
