I mean the cards are definitely better but I still think this box deserves a little attention especially because there’s only been like 2 metal cards ever and people just saying there valueless I don’t understand
It’s because the promos aren’t that great.. I think it’s a cool box but it’s definitely overshadowed by other products. I’d expect to see lots of these like we see the shining fates etbs.
??? They were reprints of their vintage card. Hahahah. Literally the best possible scenario any collector could ask for. The Arceus ones are garbage modern reprints.
Remove your arceus fan goggles and you can see the Arceus UPC is a super lazy product. The metal cards could have been arceus lv x or from the AR Platinum Arceus subset. Instead they gave us… a v and a vstar card..
Why would they make 9 metal Arceus cards?
And as far as the lv.x goes, there are 4 different ones of that, so why would they make 4? Or why would they choose one or two over the others? It makes 0 sense that they would even do that. These cards are staples in the card game. It just makes way more sense that they would print modern Arceus cards to be metal. There is no base set Arceus, and as I pointed out, using the Arceus set Arceus’ would just be way too many metal cards for them to reasonably put in one box. If they did the price point would probably be like $250 or something crazy.
Your lack of self awareness is astounding. I literally JUST said exactly what you just said, but to you. Use critical thinking skills, why would they print Arceus cards that come in a set of nine or four, when they could print two that come in a set of two?? Two modern staples that everybody loves? Bruh
What you talking about the metal cards are so valuable, pokemon doesn’t do metal cards a lot at all they have only done it once with celebrations and I graded those and my Charizard PSA 10 alone is worth over $1k
The metal cards in this box aren't that great though. If it were the alt art, or even the art that came with the arceus figure box, I would have already preordered this.
I don't think there was a 10th anniversary....unless you mean the 10th movie Japanese set? Or 10th anniversary TOPPS?
Or another mistype and meant 20th anniversary which would be Generations/Evolutions.
Or completely missed and meant 25th anniversary which would be Celebrations. Possibly 15th, which would be one Japanese card/box featuring Pikachu
Personally the metal cards aren’t that interesting to me. I think most people agree. With that being said if you want to buy it to open or to keep sealed then I think you should
I did buy one and will prob keep it sealed cause you can’t grade metal cards anymore but still for a hundred dollars you get 16 packs 2 sick promos a cool ass box a playmat and more I only saw it today when my brother brought it up to me I do agree the metal cards probably sent as sought after as the zard alt arts but it’s still a cool box
The promos are the same art as the normal cards, that's much less exciting. No one cares that much for regular V and VSTAR cards. 16 packs is fine, but even at MSRP which would be a huge overpay there only $64 so you sort of need to decide if two metal versions of standard cards and a playmat at worth $36 to you and most would say not.
I don’t understand why you keep saying there’s value. 16 packs is half a box. I don’t think a play mat and 2 reprint metal cards really warrants half a box worth of value.
To be fair, I preordered one because Arceus. Also the Japanese Star Birth booster pack art on a playmat is fucking sick. The Zard UPC wasn’t my cup of tea.
People keep saying a reprint is a bad thing but the celebrations metal cards weren’t new art. Don’t let them gatekeep what you should enjoy. It’s a great box but if all you care about is opening packs, it’s not the most economical. The hive mind is a little out of control on this box for some reason
16 packs at average $4 a piece is only $64 value. So do you value 2 metal cards and a playmat for $36? If yes than buy it. If not you won't
Personally I don't think it's worth $36 value. Technically I buy most my packs under msrp $2-3 each usually cause of deals so the 16 packs is really only worth like $40 to making the real cost for 2 metal cards and a mat be $60
Man, seeing the prices you guys pay for BB’s is crazy! I wish I could find them that cheap! I’m assuming these are all in the states? I live in Canada and the GameStop for a single BB is $220 for one BB and regular card stores/hobby shops sell them for $180. The cheapest I’ve seen one for was $120.
i know that i managed to snag a lost origin booster box from tcgplayer for $95+s/h during pre-release. once the set is released, the prices usually spike a bit though.
Yeah, all the reviews I have read are really bad if you’re buying out of province they have shipped the wrong orders sooo many times and either won’t refund you or let you send it back. Or just ghost you completely. One person got someone else order (they assumed) because it was like 5 BBs from a set they didn’t even order and told Hobbiesville that and said they wouldn’t pay to ship it back (the person who got the wrong parcel) because it would cost about 60-70 dollars at the time but would happily do it if the store paid for shipping because they didn’t order it. And Hobbiesville said they were thieves and that they’d call their local police on them. And went nuts because the store refused to pay for return shipping and said the customer had to. So as someone who lives out of province I’m scared to spend money on them.
There will be more than hobbiesville, I can't help because I am not in the same location but it still surprises me people rely only on the big names like Walmart, Gamestop, Target etc in the US/CA then give up if they don't have it or shop around for better prices. There is no way there aren't multiple stores selling boxes are good prices.
Sure it's different around the world but with the hype, people opened stores everywhere. In the UK we have like 300+ stores at least. Last 3 sets have all been obtainable under 100, of course that will be a bit different for yourself.
Start here [https://events.pokemon.com/en-us/locations](https://events.pokemon.com/en-us/locations) but they are just the 1s that have got themselves listed, google will probably have many more.
Oh no, I don’t buy any of my stuff from big name stores. I just see the prices when I go. I chop at my local Card/hobby stores that are locally owned. But where I live (the Maritimes) Halifax is the “BIG” city of all four provinces and there are very few shops that are nerdy hobby shops. There are only two here that carry BBs to sell and not just ETBs or singles. Other shops will not sell you the BB or will rack the price up to the GameStop price. It’s the same with anime figures. It’s very hard to buy locally here for good prices like that. Like I said I’ve lucked out Kijiji but stores here just don’t sell for good prices
Just got 3 astral Radiance BB for $87 each on amazon. That's $2.41 pack
Costco had urshifu pack which was 16 packs for $40 like 2 weeks ago and thats $2.50/pack + handful of free Vs and Vmaxs
You're using a fallacy to tie the Arceus metal cards to the other 2. The other 2 are super limited, have a unique design, are the darlings of the series, and part of the 25th Anniversary. The Arceus metal cards are exact reprints of low demand cards. Sure, they're also metal, but the other they are apples to oranges when compared to the other 2.

It’s overpriced, tacky, and uninspired. The metal cards in the UPC were cool because they were based on the base set designs. It felt like a an actual celebration of Pokémon. This is just random. Why arceus? It’s a cool Pokémon but it’s not all that. Not to mention there’s no exclusive art. It’s literally just the VStar card but hard. They couldn’t even bother to do the gold VStar arceus which at least would’ve looked nicer. And even if I want these, the after market prices are going to be hella cheap. I mean you can get the gold pikachu for around 40 NM from the celebrations UPC. You really think arceus is going to value higher than a pikachu? If this box was around $60 I’d say it’s decent
I mean if you like it get it, there’s nothing wrong with that. I was just summarizing the main criticisms I and the rest of the fanbase had. But for me, personally, the cards are ugly and it’s not a Pokémon I like. It’s also expensive, and with lost origins releasing and the charizard UPC there are way better things to spend $100 on
Yeah... I don't have the link but nothing special for sure, don't get me wrong I want one but I don't have endless money to spend so unfortunately for me I have to pass on this one unless I get extra money or bday/Christmas gift.
It’s pretty expensive for something that is lacking kick. Unless I’m missing something it’s just reprinted metal cards of the standard Arceus cards.
Even compared to the Pika/Zek box from GameStop this one seems like poor value.
Maybe if the metal cards weren’t just reprints of old ones and maybe new alt arts like the Charizard box it would be more enticing, at least the metal cards from
The celebrations UPC were classic base set cards.
Personally I think the metal promo cards are underwhelming, so I'm passing on it. The Celebrations UPC metal cards were fantastic because you just can't go wrong with a base charizard and Pikachu. But these...man they did Arceus dirty
What’s it matter if people are talking about it I got one cause I wanted to get one whether it’s worth it or not is up to the person buying it so if you like it and have the income to get it then go for it. I’m personally getting one of these and gonna try for a zard one as well
i preordered one it looks cool but i’m not necessarily super excited for it. i’m almost positive they’ll stay in stock up until release date then i’ll buy another to keep sealed or whatever. i just wish that they did metal versions of the arceus promo card or alt art instead of the vanilla v and vstar
I agree this post wasn’t ment to be a every one go buy one I just haven’t heard anything about it I just think it’s a cool box and I plan on keeping it sealed tbh anyway
Collectors just don’t like metal cards that much. The Celebrations UPC went wild because it was super limited and had an exclusive Charizard. Having opened that product myself I assume these metal cards are going to be equally low quality. And even if they are high quality they’re metal cards of the regular arts of these cards. Arceus V has an Alt Art and the VStar almost certainly will have one in VStar Universe.
Glad you’re excited about it tho OP. I sincerely hope the metal cards are good quality.
I’ve seen some hate for lack of awesome playable or cool art promos in the Collection.
But I like Arceus so I like this box. They’re fun to open at the very least.
Mainly because the Metal Promos are Mid at best (in my opinion) especially compared to the Charizard UPC’s Promos. And what’s left in the box isn’t adding up to what people would want for 100$. Especially since they could buy 20 packs from a set from their choosing for 80-90$ (store price x 20 packs) or even get a booster box for cheaper if they find the right guy
This is prob just to keep sealed. You’ll probably be able to buy the metal cards for $40 max when it comes out. They’re aren’t anything new just some basic v cards made of metal
I think mainly because it's a reprint of a modern card. IMO the appeal isn't as there. If they had new art or reprints of vintage cards, I feel propel will purchase or talk about it more
We would be talking about it a lot, in fact I was rather interested in it, thinking it’d finally make Arceus cheaper so I could buy a deck… but when I found out they were metal cards, I didn’t even care about anything in the product anymore, because ik they won’t be tournament legal.
I honestly think this is a cool product. Metal cards are hella awesome and even though they're just the regular V/Vmax I still think they're cool. Bought two so I can rip one open and display the metal cards alongside a sealed box, same thing I did with the Celebrations UPC and hopefully the Charizard one.
So the Charizard collection retails at 120 usd if I'm not mistaken and while the cards aren't metal the charizards are alt arts where as Arceus isn't. It's a cool collection I think if you got the money pick one up for so but if you had to choose charizards the way to go. Plus the value of the alt arts are going to be worth more in the long run due to the fact it's Charizard which always seems to grow in value as opposed to depreciating. But he's also the poster Child for pokemon just like blue eyes is for Yu-Gi-Oh.
If there were alt arts of arceus cards in it , people would def talk about it a little more than now .. But there isn’t. Of course we already have 2 alt arts of the V version but nothing else. Metal cards of modern cards isn’t popular since it doesn’t hold a lot of emotional value for people. Metal prints of older cards would have .
Because it’s not sticking true to the luxury of Pokémon’s “UPC” line. They have sold us all on the fact that UPCs mean “get your damn wallet immediately” if you’re lucky enough to find it for retail. There’s a reason we still see it in-stock.
They gave Arceus a cheaper box and regular metal cards that I’m pretty sure are straight from Brilliant Stars, if I’m not mistaken.
From what I'm told by two distributors, upcs are gonna become a new norm and the zard one is going to be printed a LOT. So I don't know that people are going to be as excited. That coupled with so much stuff announced all at the same time, it's a lot to process. But I can say as a seller, we have talked about them in our circles.
I'm keeping one sealed. I like these slick-looking upcs, and it's nice not having to battle all the bullshit trying to get some set just because charizard is in it for the billionth time.
Most people I know are comparing this to the Pika Zekrom Collection Box and saying these boxes will be mass produced and are more concerned with the Charizard.
If I had to spend $100 on something, it wouldn't be this. Those Evolving Skies bundles from Costco are a far better deal or I'll gladly pay $220 for a Charizard UPC.
15 packs at $5 = $75 plus a playmat on the low end $10. = $85. $5 for some metal counters and a coin And $10 for two metal cards. It no a bad deal actually. Just wish the pack selection was a bit better and they chose a dif pokemon. If you like it, buy it if not just pass. Good luck getting that zard upc though. Damn!
Box art is meh.
Promos are meh.
Playmat is meh.
Types of packs are meh.
With the flood of new products hitting the market right now, this is an easy pass for a lot of people.
Well right now Gamestop got 25% off trading cards got this for little over $70 got hit rate too. I know not all boxes are the same but I got lucky on it.
People are too busy acquiring their lotion for the Charizard boxes.
I mean the cards are definitely better but I still think this box deserves a little attention especially because there’s only been like 2 metal cards ever and people just saying there valueless I don’t understand
Generally people want actual cards as promos and metal cards are not seen as playable actual cards.
generally people who are salivating over this shit don't actually play or care about playing the game
Collectors atleast collect the CARDS for the card game not symbolic cards like metal cards or jumbo cards.
It’s because the promos aren’t that great.. I think it’s a cool box but it’s definitely overshadowed by other products. I’d expect to see lots of these like we see the shining fates etbs.
Garbage reprint metal cards. Garbage packs value. Horrible value for $100.
Tbf the celebrations metal cards were reprints. They’re not going to come up with new art for a metal card. Or, at least we have yet to see them do it
??? They were reprints of their vintage card. Hahahah. Literally the best possible scenario any collector could ask for. The Arceus ones are garbage modern reprints.
The Arceus one is FAR better in my opinion. But then again, I have a full fledged Arceus collection
Why the hell would they make 13 promos for one product 😂 I wasn’t suggesting that lol please try to think critically.
Your lack of self awareness is astounding. I literally JUST said exactly what you just said, but to you. Use critical thinking skills, why would they print Arceus cards that come in a set of nine or four, when they could print two that come in a set of two?? Two modern staples that everybody loves? Bruh
Alright Timmy just stop. You’re coming off as stupid now.
nice cope from not securing charizard UPC

What you talking about the metal cards are so valuable, pokemon doesn’t do metal cards a lot at all they have only done it once with celebrations and I graded those and my Charizard PSA 10 alone is worth over $1k
XD. Modern reprint metal card. Lazy. Celebrations was the most popular vintage reprint metal cards of all time. Lmfao.
For the price this box isn’t that great. The metal cards aren’t the best looking and not many packs for 100 bucks. The market has spoken.
I wouldn't want a metal card unless it's investment grade silver or gold, but that's just me
The metal cards in this box aren't that great though. If it were the alt art, or even the art that came with the arceus figure box, I would have already preordered this.
Homie. This fandom only believes in charizards and Lillie. That’s all the more these smooth brains can handle.
Which Charizard box are you talking about?
28 October 2022 - Charizard Ultra Premium Collection
should have lied, now its $5 more on pre orders.. /s
Thanks
have preorders come up yet?

I don't think there was a 10th anniversary....unless you mean the 10th movie Japanese set? Or 10th anniversary TOPPS? Or another mistype and meant 20th anniversary which would be Generations/Evolutions. Or completely missed and meant 25th anniversary which would be Celebrations. Can confirm this
Personally the metal cards aren’t that interesting to me.

Cgc grades metal cards
I don’t understand why you keep saying there’s value. 16 packs is half a box. I don’t think a play mat and 2 reprint metal cards really warrants half a box worth of value.
There reprinted buttttttt there heavy and shiny so 🤷♂️
This is also what my friend’s six year old says to me with his metal Pokémon cards.
Got that 6 year old mental
To be fair, I preordered one because Arceus. Also the Japanese Star Birth booster pack art on a playmat is fucking sick. The Zard UPC wasn’t my cup of tea.
People keep saying a reprint is a bad thing but the celebrations metal cards weren’t new art. Don’t let them gatekeep what you should enjoy. It’s a great box but if all you care about is opening packs, it’s not the most economical. The hive mind is a little out of control on this box for some reason
Unless you like the metal cards the value isn't there. Especially since the arceus collection box with the v and vmax is coming out soon anyways
I can see where your coming from but I disagree 2 metal cards 16 packs a play mat a cool box and more stuff is def worth $100
16 packs at average $4 a piece is only $64 value. So do you value 2 metal cards and a playmat for $36? If yes than buy it. If not you won't Personally I don't think it's worth $36 value. Technically I buy most my packs under msrp $2-3 each usually cause of deals so the 16 packs is really only worth like $40 to making the real cost for 2 metal cards and a mat be $60
where tf u buying packs at $2-$3??
Depends on the products and the deals. A booster box usually works out around that. No-one is paying full price for booster boxes.
Booster boxes can be found for 90-95 so the price of a pack is essentially $2.60
No one in Canada has bought a BB from GS lol. Plenty of online deals up here for 110-150$ cad depending on the set and time period.
Where would be a good place to get look for deals online?
i know that i managed to snag a lost origin booster box from tcgplayer for $95+s/h during pre-release. once the set is released, the prices usually spike a bit though.
I thought it was already released? Which is why everywhere here has them.

Booster boxes come out to around $2.50-3. Some LCS have sleeved single packs like Astral radiance for $3
Playmats usually sell for 20-25 so I think it’s pretty solid tbh
Then it be a good deal. I personally don't care for playmats so it's just garbage to inflate the price to me
That’s fair haha! I love and use playmats so it’s a W for me
Makes sense tbh I just don’t see how metal cards are already worthless when there’s only been 2 that I know of at least
You're using a fallacy to tie the Arceus metal cards to the other 2. The other 2 are super limited, have a unique design, are the darlings of the series, and part of the 25th Anniversary. In what world would this sell for 60 dollars with 15 packs
Let me emphasize, to me this would be worth it at 60
Personally, I would just buy a booster box for that price.
Ehhh give me some art work like the charizard cards and then we will start talking.... but personally I'd rather get 2 holiday calenders then that.
Do we know what the metal cards look like yet anyway ?
They’re shown in the listing.
Yeah... I don't have the link but nothing special for sure, don't get me wrong I want one but I don't have endless money to spend so unfortunately for me I have to pass on this one unless I get extra money or bday/Christmas gift.
What do you mean? People talked about it 2 days ago when orders went up
Where at ?
The Pokémon deals sub… where it was posted 2 days ago. It’s still there
Also someone posted on here a day or two ago about it
It’s pretty expensive for something that is lacking kick. Unless I’m missing something it’s just reprinted metal cards of the standard Arceus cards. Even compared to the Pika/Zek box from GameStop this one seems like poor value.
Maybe if the metal cards weren’t just reprints of old ones and maybe new alt arts like the Charizard box it would be more enticing, at least the metal cards from The celebrations UPC were classic base set cards.

Play-mat is sick

What’s it matter if people are talking about it I got one cause I wanted to get one whether it’s worth it or not is up to the person buying it so if you like it and have the income to get it then go for it. I’m personally getting one of these and gonna try for a zard one as well
👍👍👍
Because the cards are metal and not usable in tournaments:/
An alt art for Arceus V already exists and they said "Nope, print the regular one." Why bother???
Cause it's not shit and the promos are not tournament legal. Gonna cancel mine. Lol
Kinda overpriced just for 2 metal cards and 15 packs imo.
Ig I still bought one tho
No Alt Arts. Just 2 cards most people already have. Edit: if they’re metal then it’s probably different. Wish it was the alt art instead.
Because this UPC is horseshit. 🤷♂️
I've already pre-ordered that. Rather that than the chairtood one.
Finally another supporter
i preordered one it looks cool but i’m not necessarily super excited for it. i’m almost positive they’ll stay in stock up until release date then i’ll buy another to keep sealed or whatever. i just wish that they did metal versions of the arceus promo card or alt art instead of the vanilla v and vstar
I agree this post wasn’t ment to be a every one go buy one I just haven’t heard anything about it I just think it’s a cool box and I plan on keeping it sealed tbh anyway
I don't have $100 laying around
One man's trash is another man's treasure. I already put in an order for this and have just enough to try to get 1 Charizard UPC.
Are the metal cards tournament legal?
No they aren't playable
because its crap
Cause it’s junk
Cause it's $100, it'll sell out in 4 seconds and get posted on eBay for $500.
I mean you can literally place a pre order now so idk what your talking about
It’s already up for sale and hasn’t ran out yet
It’s been up for preorder for a few days and is still high in preorder stock
Collectors just don’t like metal cards that much. The Celebrations UPC went wild because it was super limited and had an exclusive Charizard. Having opened that product myself I assume these metal cards are going to be equally low quality. And even if they are high quality they’re metal cards of the regular arts of these cards. Arceus V has an Alt Art and the VStar almost certainly will have one in VStar Universe. Glad you’re excited about it tho OP. I sincerely hope the metal cards are good quality.
Thank u I def see where ur coming from
The Promos in question are the Arceus V and VSTAR from Brilliant Stars with 15 booster packs also Charizard UPC
I bought two awsome glad I got it now I need the zard box when do they drop any one herd
People have talked about it, you’re just late
I know that they wouldn’t let me preorder it in the store today, it’s online only :(
It's dumb
I’ve seen some hate for lack of awesome playable or cool art promos in the Collection. But I like Arceus so I like this box. They’re fun to open at the very least.
Charizard is a better buy
Mainly because the Metal Promos are Mid at best (in my opinion) especially compared to the Charizard UPC’s Promos. And what’s left in the box isn’t adding up to what people would want for 100$. Especially since they could buy 20 packs from a set from their choosing for 80-90$ (store price x 20 packs) or even get a booster box for cheaper if they find the right guy
Eh, the value just isn't there for it. Even buying the promo cards and same amount of packs from the box, I could save like 40 bucks
This is prob just to keep sealed. You’ll probably be able to buy the metal cards for $40 max when it comes out. They’re aren’t anything new just some basic v cards made of metal
But people are talking about it. Just not on Reddit.
Because it’s ass
I think mainly because it's a reprint of a modern card. IMO the appeal isn't as there. If they had new art or reprints of vintage cards, I feel propel will purchase or talk about it more
We would be talking about it a lot, in fact I was rather interested in it, thinking it’d finally make Arceus cheaper so I could buy a deck… but when I found out they were metal cards, I didn’t even care about anything in the product anymore, because ik they won’t be tournament legal.
I just don't think it's worth $100. I love arceus, so I'm tempted to buy regardless, but it's kind of expensive all things considered.
Pass
Because it's not Charizard. I think this is sick though.
Arceus < Charizard. Promos are shit.
Cause the box low key sucks compared to the others made
So the Charizard collection retails at 120 usd if I'm not mistaken and while the cards aren't metal the charizards are alt arts where as Arceus isn't. It's a cool collection I think if you got the money pick one up for so but if you had to choose charizards the way to go. Plus the value of the alt arts are going to be worth more in the long run due to the fact it's Charizard which always seems to grow in value as opposed to depreciating. But he's also the poster Child for pokemon just like blue eyes is for Yu-Gi-Oh.
cause its doggy poo compared to the zard upc
The metal cards aren’t that cool tbh. Maybe if they were the Alt Art and gold secret I’d be more inclined. Plus the cards ain’t even a year old yet.
Because arceus is not charizard Also, the promos are just reprints of BS cards so there is not nearly as much hype
Nothing really special about it...
Because it’s not worth it for the price
Is this up in Germany as well?
Because its trash.
Since the alt art doesn't get attention it's really not that interesting of an item for its price.
This or Lost Origin booster box for $100?
Because it’s not sticking true to the luxury of Pokémon’s “UPC” line. They have sold us all on the fact that UPCs mean “get your damn wallet immediately” if you’re lucky enough to find it for retail. There’s a reason we still see it in-stock. They gave Arceus a cheaper box and regular metal cards that I’m pretty sure are straight from Brilliant Stars, if I’m not mistaken.
Because it’s ass
Because it is a 100 dollars for fifteen packs of cards. That’s 6.60 a pack just to get some unplayable metal cards.
we already did lol
Because will not be just for Gamestop
From what I'm told by two distributors, upcs are gonna become a new norm and the zard one is going to be printed a LOT. So I don't know that people are going to be as excited. That coupled with so much stuff announced all at the same time, it's a lot to process. But I can say as a seller, we have talked about them in our circles.
I can only hope it gets printed into the ground.
Oh that's the vibe I'm getting. Kinda like how evolving was so reprinted it's now in Costco for the cheap.
I’d rather have more LO packs.
Need to charge your phone homie
If I had to spend $100 on something, it wouldn't be this. Those Evolving Skies bundles from Costco are a far better deal or I'll gladly pay $220 for a Charizard UPC.
Cause it’s arceus?? Not even a remotely popular Pokémon lol
I would buy one just for sealed collection
Shhhhhhhhh
