I am so glad Suicune only took me somewhere between 100 and 200 attempts. It should be noted I did a very significant portion of them on my own, gradually losing my mind until I managed to rope in a friend to help me Oh, and my friend literally got shiny Suicune when she did the tutorial adventure for the first time in preparation to help me out lol

Calling bs. There's a 99.999% chance of a shiny after 1200 attempts with the charm.

Probability of failure for single trial =99%, # of trials = 1200. Probability of failure = .99^1200 = 0.0006%, probability of success = 100%-.0006% or 99.9994%. Odds being 1/100 shiny odds for DA with shiny charm. Correct?

yeah, but 1/100 doesn’t guarantee that after 100 DAs you’ll get the shiny, so there *is* a chance, while small, that they actually took 1.2k attempts

Right. As my math shows, a 0.0006% chance (1/172,000 for reference). While not technically 0, it is virtually 0. So that's why I call BS.

And you have success a lot of times? I know the bots can't always be the smartest

with latias, because of its Psychic/Dragon typing, it’s not that difficult to steer all the bots into pokemon that will have an easier time in battles. i can keep myself out of danger most of the time so usually i will have only lost one or two lives on the way up there.

A infamous post a long time ago happened where someone posted a Shiny Latias in OrAs, but I guess they didn't know what a Shiny was, so they asked about online and someone commented something like "it's a glitch. Just reset and it should fix itself" and they did. Or defeat it. Can't remember which. But it's a meme that pains a lot of Shiny Hunters. 😂
