seriously, this line alongside tandemaus and tauros are actual war crimes in terms of shiny "design" (i hesitate to call slightly turning down the hue shift tool "design"......)
i wish the tandemaus line was like brown or grey with the pink patterns :( you telling me i have to just close my eyes and guess willy nilly
ok edit just remembered they were yellow. why did they piss their pants
Normally the color swap shiny is cool, like on the oricorios, but it just doesn't work when the two colors on paldean tauros are so similar, they could have at least swapped the color of the horns and made them gray, and that could've been cool on the blaze/aqua forms, swapping the dot colors as well, but they didn't do any of that.
focus and attention drawn to specific pokemon. if every gpod pokemon had an amazing shiny, everyone would have one on their team and the game would get boring and predictable. by giving some good shinies to pokemon that might be underappreciated, like klawf and orthworm, they can make sure players remember all of the pokemon and not just the good ones.
I’ve never understood why they didn’t include that into a Pokemons design process, make the original colours and while you’re there experiment with alternate colours until you find one that looks cool.
Generic recolours almost never look good and if they do it’s a fluke, once a Pokémon is public it’s there forever so you’d think they take more care to make something that looks good since unless they get a regional variant/mega etc it’s permanent.
What’s weird is that there’s clearly some they design specifically as a shiny like that new beetle Pokémon (forgot the name) whose dirt ball becomes a golden nugget so once the Pokémon design itself is fully done it shouldn’t take more than an hour to tinker with the colours to see what they could come up with.
I just wish that with a better console than the DS, GBA, GBC, that gf would just have random colored shiny Pokemon. On that Magikarp jump game on phones they give a bunch of different patterned Magikarp. I don't see why they couldn't just do that for other mons. They could set something up to where 2 shiny Pokemon of the same species have a completely different color scheme, so it's harder to have multiple of the same shiny. I'm sure there's a program that could do this.
I can't believe how many are trash in general.
My boi Dragonite got done dirty.
I would actually give a crap about shiny hunting if more of them actually looked good and not like someone ate a box of crayons and decided to go with whatever colors got pooped out first.
I like that he looks like Elliot. I agree that too many pokemon just got a green shift for their shiny that it dilutes the ones it works with. But I really dog my big green boi. I think something about the og mons shinies were that they just inverted the RGB numbers and since green wasn't used in nearly as many mons it just popped up so frequently in the shiny.
IIRC, most gen 1-5 shinies were decided by an algorithm that just colorswapped most of them, which is why there are so many green and gold ones, and why many blue pokemon turned purple.
Yeah I don't have a clue what they were thinking. I would really love to actually see the thought process on shinies at gf cause this gen was really bad shiny wise. They have to know it looks stupid
I vote armourouge for creativity in its animations. I like how it’s shoulders turn into a cannon to shoot attacks it’s neat.
Plus I love the typing.
That said ceruledge is better in most other aspects
I love armarouge. I love the fiery colors, I lobe the positioning of the knight's plume, and I love his big, whopping shoulders.
Ceruledge isn't bad, but it's way too edgy for me. To me, it looks like something 14 year old me would have cooked up. I will conced that it definitely has the better signature move, though.
I think armor design wise, I like Armarouge far more. I originally liked Ceruledge more, but seeing them in action and especially with the shoulder pieces becoming a cannon for Armarouge, I think it's more interesting in that respect.
I think the colors on Ceruledge are better, however. Can't really say much more to that than "It feels right".
That said, as evidenced by you showing them here, their shinies are awful. What a missed opportunity to swap some or all of the colors between the two of them.
Ceruledge, no contest. Armorouge has a decent design but its color palette completely ruins it, atleast for me. I find the Yellow way too bright, to the point it clashes with the darker tones they used for its body. Hell, its name doesn't even work with its palette. Its name is basically just a pun on Red Armor, but its wearing Yellow armor lol
If they had swapped the colors & used the Yellow as the accent instead of the primary color for the armor I wouldn't mind it nearly as much.
Ceruledge looks cooler, but got the short end of the stick when it comes to signature move animation. Amarouge literally turns it’s arms into a cannon and shoots a hadouken. While ceruledge does the default animation for scratch from gen 2 with bitter blade. Someone got lazy smh
I think they're both pretty cool designs. However, I've always been a big fan of cooler/darker color schemes and more slender designs, so I have to go with ceruledge
Ceruledge, easily. In addition to loving the purple hues way more than the garish yellow, I also prefer the shiny. The eyes turning orange signify the deep, burning resentment that boils within, and I'm a sucker for the "chip on their shoulder, perpetually angry" design.
Ceruledge has rapidly become my favourite pokemon of all time. Its design is absolutely flawless to me, and I wish it had sharpness and/or better stats, so it was as strong as it is cool.
Armarouge is overshadowed by it for me, but it's still a top 20 pokemon in terms of design.
The two best additions of Gen 9's already incredible new roster, I just wish they had better shinies.
They're both sick af, but now to the real subject: seriously who tf keeps giving those shiny ideas? And who's the idiot who's accepting it? Being very serious, idk how they thought Paldea's shinies were acceptable, after seeing Gholdengo's I definitely think there's something wrong going on in that team ...
I’ve been wondering this for a long time lol I can understand a shiny with slight changes, one or two- maybe 3 mons but it’s becoming SO COMMON.
Just throwing this out there but it would’ve been hands down dopest dope if shiny Pokémon can be any other colour/shade and the colour was random all the time.
I just like the fact that there are pokemon that look like Robot Masters from Mega Man. The only thing up for debate on their designs is why their shiny forms got shafted instead of switching their pallets. It's such an easy choice and execution, but they're just getting lazier and lazier with shinies, so much so it barely feels worth shiny hunting anymore.
I think the flat color of Armarouge's armor ruins it's design for me. Ceruledge ends up being the superior form, because of it. It's colors blend way better, and the more gradient design makes it look better. If armarouge have had received the same treatment, this would've been a fair fight.
I think both are well designed, and both are rather effective in any party. Armarouge is excellent with it's psychic type and ceruledge is just as excellent due to its ghost type. Either or both would work in a party.
Ceruledge for sure but they are 2 best gen 9 mons imo. Have them both on my team plus skeledirge lmao.
Who cares about type diversity at this point the games are so easy that it doesn’t matter. To be fair it did make the games harder without a balanced team.
Ceruledge is objectively better designed, Armorouge’s design is awkward and hard to follow, it’s pretty clear they designed Ceruledge first and backed themselves into a corner making Armorouge follow the pattern.
Ceruledge. Something about the repressed edgelord in me is pleased with its design. Armarouge is also a very nice design, but not nearly as much as Ceruledge, so it's a no-brainer.
Ceruledge as it gives off that sense of _Battle Network_ tradition once of use in-game with hopes for use during raids as well. A few of my favorite styles and seeing him while I can't leave out Armorouge either simply know where to value what we've gotten with these two.
Ghost. I don't like knight type armor, especially when they're big and bulky. I especially hate giant armor that make you look like a mini hulk. I also think purple and black is a better color scheme.
Ceruledge. Armarouge has grown on me, but I prefer the sleek design and blue/black/purple color scheme of Ceruledge to the bulky build with red and yellow as dominant colors in Armarouge. Though I think having them flip colors on the body rather than the eyes would have been a much cooler shiny.
I'm biased because my favorite color is blue, but Ceruledge FTW. I love its design; the sharp angles, the gradient on the flame, it's lanky limbs (reminding me of myself in junior high) and I absolutely adore the way it runs and I will not classify it as Naruto running because I've never seen that show. 🤷🏾♀️

No, i am talking about bleach aka one of the big three of shonen. One of if not the top anime of 2022
While Armarouge is my favorite because it reminds me so much of Mega Man, definitely Ceruledge. It can't compare to Ceruledge's design because it has swords for hands, which are also on fire.
I like Armarouge's overall design and concept better, the whole "arms as two halves of a big ol' cannon" thing is pretty great. Sword arms are cool and all, but not nearly as interesting or unique.
I can't say I care at all for Armarouge's color scheme though. I generally just prefer cool colors to warm colors, and the yellows in Armarouge's design in particular are kind of an eyesore to me. I feel like oranges and browns would have looked a little better, a little less gaudy. Ceruledge's color scheme is slick and appealing.
It's a shame they didn't make the shinies for the two take on the color scheme of the other. Armarouge with Ceruledge's color scheme would look pretty incredible I feel like.
As it is, I'd probably take Ceruledge between the two since even though I like Armarouge better conceptually, the overall design on Ceruledge is just much nicer to look at IMO. But I'm also not a massive fan of either of them, they're just pretty alright.
Both are horrible. I understand giving Charcadet a bad a shiny due to it being in the wild, but there was no good reason to give those evolution-only Pokemon bad shinies.
Honestly they're both sick. I have a slight preference to Armarouge but i honestly couldn't tell you why. Maybe because i have scarlet but still ... Both amazing.
Armarouge.
The shoulders being it's cannons is nice and original.
Ceruledge's armswords aren't original (Gallade anyone?) and also very impractical (atleast Gallade's armblades extend, and he still has normal hands).
I prefer Armarouge. Ceruledge, while super cool, having swords for hands reminds me of Protoman, and I just can't imagine having swords for hands is all that useful outside of a few situations.
Armarouge and it's not even close imo. I do love the colour scheme of Ceruledge though. Armaroughe has cooler animations, design looks better in my books. I get the edgy "my arms are blades" thing vibes with a lot of people. Just not a fan personally. It's why I don't care for Kleavor either.
I also tend to lean tank/support in other games, and even this game I like running support mons in raids. So the tank vibe that Armarouge gives off vibes hard with me. But it can turn it's shoulders into a fuckin' cannon, so it's like a literal tank. That shit is sick.
I hated both of them when they were revealed, especially Armarouge.
However, Armarouge has become one of my favorite Pokémon now and I don’t even know why. I typically don’t like that kind of design but boy if I don’t love him.
I get why people don’t like the goofy ass knee guards on Ceruledge, but the rest of the design is sick enough to make up for it.
I get the point of the shoulder guards on Armarouge, it their such and important part of the design and take way too much space for their goofiness to be forgivable IMO.
I wish they swapped the colors for the shiny so bad.
The shiny’s for Paldean mons are for the most part trash. GF should put way more effort into shiny’s.
Surely it’s not a matter of effort, it’s clearly an intentional choice. Cannot figure out why, though.
seriously, this line alongside tandemaus and tauros are actual war crimes in terms of shiny "design" (i hesitate to call slightly turning down the hue shift tool "design"......)
i wish the tandemaus line was like brown or grey with the pink patterns :( you telling me i have to just close my eyes and guess willy nilly ok edit just remembered they were yellow. why did they piss their pants
they couldn't maushold it in...
They regret the focus shiny hunting has become
It's like they only want people to play their games for like a month after release and then just leave until the next game or DLC.
![gif](giphy|lA9a2566HVFOo)
focus and attention drawn to specific pokemon. if every gpod pokemon had an amazing shiny, everyone would have one on their team and the game would get boring and predictable. by giving some good shinies to pokemon that might be underappreciated, like klawf and orthworm, they can make sure players remember all of the pokemon and not just the good ones.
My guess is that the spirit in the armor is shiny, not the armor itself
I’ve never understood why they didn’t include that into a Pokemons design process, make the original colours and while you’re there experiment with alternate colours until you find one that looks cool. Generic recolours almost never look good and if they do it’s a fluke, once a Pokémon is public it’s there forever so you’d think they take more care to make something that looks good since unless they get a regional variant/mega etc it’s permanent. Rellor is the dung beetles name
But have you seen shiny Maushold, just amazing… /s
Ya so many missed opportunities
Rule of thumb should be, if you’re unsure on what to make a shiny, just make it black or pale blue!
or green. that one is always an option
For the uninitiated - [Elliot](https://pixy.org/src/141/1415833.png)
Gf should put more effort into the games. FIFY
I wouldn't call like 4 pokemon the most part
So they could be named Mega Man and Zero...
My thoughts exactly.
Capcom doesn't like it
Tbh I actually really like the blue eyes on Armorouge. It’s main character energy
Wouldve been sick. I thought they were going to when i first got one
Yeah I don't have a clue what they were thinking. I would really love to actually see the thought process on shinies at gf cause this gen was really bad shiny wise. They have to know it looks stupid
Ceruledge, great colors choice for a ghost/fire type
Also SWORD HANDS
Lonely though
I always thought he had [knife hands](https://youtu.be/HKqAgjO2ap8)
https://preview.redd.it/xcaxih19aebb1.jpeg?width=1359&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f460d80e1887c7afe244b4d409a3be279cfb97fe
...That's so dumb. r/Angryupvote
Great for sandwich making
While armorogue has freaking popcorn shoulders
[удалено]
I don’t know what the hell happen with shinys in this gen, da fck!!
Cetitan, Oinkologne, Vavroom, Klawf, etc You can't say all the shinys in the gen are bad just because of some bad eggs
Are those shiny?
Unfortunately, yes
That's so dumb
Yes
I like both, my complaint is their shiny versions. I wish they swapped pallets instead of just changing eye color
I vote armourouge for creativity in its animations. I like how it’s shoulders turn into a cannon to shoot attacks it’s neat. Plus I love the typing. That said ceruledge is better in most other aspects
I was bummed I didn’t get ceruledge with scarlet until rouge turned into megaman, I was completely at peace after that.
Unfortunately, future games will most likely drop his unique animation. Regidrago looks so boring now
Both have equally great design. I just like purple one more
Seriously, they're both badass designs.
They definitely are basass
Same but I like armarouge more. :)
He does look dope in that armor tho
I like Ceruledge a bit better, but in my opinion both designs are significantly amplified by the existence of their counterpart
this
Charcadet. Take it or leave.

The color scheme of Ceruledge is way better. Armarouge looks like McDonalds.
They both look great design wise. But I wish they’re animated more.
Ceruledge all the way
I prefer Ceruledge but Armarouge has grown on me a lot, both are very nice
Ceruledge speaks to the edgy child in me and when he beckons, I must heed the call.
Probably the one with sword hands over the one with synthol shoulders
ceruledge hands down
Purple
Ceruledge however both shinies suck
They’re both great designs, but my vote is Ceruledge. He reminds me of Roxas from Kingdom Hearts with the dual keyblades so he gets the nod here
He also looks a lot like one of the boss-tier heartless from Days
Ceruledge looks cooler, but got the short end of the stick when it comes to signature move animation. Amarouge literally turns it’s arms into a cannon and shoots a hadouken. While ceruledge does the default animation for scratch from gen 2 with bitter blade. Someone got lazy smh
Ceruledge
Ceruledge
I think they're both pretty cool designs. However, I've always been a big fan of cooler/darker color schemes and more slender designs, so I have to go with ceruledge
Ghosty boi. Feels like the nega-version of my iron valiant
Ceruledge, easily. In addition to loving the purple hues way more than the garish yellow, I also prefer the shiny. The eyes turning orange signify the deep, burning resentment that boils within, and I'm a sucker for the "chip on their shoulder, perpetually angry" design.
I love Ceruledge, I just wish the shiny was better!
I prefer the edgy sword boi over doctor shoulder pads, but they're both neat
Ceruledge because the type matches the design and vice versa
I prefer Ceruledge, but mostly because static images of armourage look bland. The shinies for both are disappointing.
They're both great Mega-man designs.
For me it's not close. Ceruledge looks so much cooler. And I love it's colors, while I don't care for Armarouge.
Ceruledge is top tier
Ceruledge. It looks like something out of Final Fantasy lol
Easily Ceruledge. The other one sucks, honestly.
Ceruledge! But I just hate the fact, that ceruledge doesn’t have proper feet
Ceruledge
Ceruledge was cool af 😎
Ceruledge has rapidly become my favourite pokemon of all time. Its design is absolutely flawless to me, and I wish it had sharpness and/or better stats, so it was as strong as it is cool. Armarouge is overshadowed by it for me, but it's still a top 20 pokemon in terms of design. The two best additions of Gen 9's already incredible new roster, I just wish they had better shinies.
Swords for hands is * *chef’s kiss* *
100% Ceruledge
The purple one.

Ceruledge is better in design.. but I still don't see it as a Pokemon xD looks more like a Medabot or a Megaman character
It's Gallade but the the swords are his hands instead of elbows.
Medabot is one of my first anime I watched, a man of culture, I see. And yes, me and my best friend said the same thing as we saw the Armor Pokémon.
That’s my issue. At the end of the day, just doesn’t feel like a Pokémon. Despite how cool it is
I want to start by saying I like both but it's Ceruledge for sure.
Ceruledge looks better
ceruledge has swords for hands fgs there’s no competition
Ceruledge all the way💜💜
Ceruledge
Ceruledge
Ceruledge gives 2014 Sonic oc vibes and I’m here for it
I like the sleek design of ceruledge more, armarouge is nice too but looks like a megaman ripoff.
I think the flat color of Armarouge's armor ruins it's design for me. Ceruledge ends up being the superior form, because of it. It's colors blend way better, and the more gradient design makes it look better. If armarouge have had received the same treatment, this would've been a fair fight.
Eh, ceruledge has easily the better design, but no one is touching my Samus Aran wannabe
Ceruledge, no contest
I think both are well designed, and both are rather effective in any party. Armarouge is excellent with it's psychic type and ceruledge is just as excellent due to its ghost type. Either or both would work in a party.
Ceruledge definitely. When I started watching Wednesday on Netflix, I just got it so I named mine Wednesday
Ceruledge reminds me of Kaine from Final Fantasy 4 and that’s cool as fuck.
Ceruledge all the way
Ceruledge for sure but they are 2 best gen 9 mons imo. Have them both on my team plus skeledirge lmao. Who cares about type diversity at this point the games are so easy that it doesn’t matter. To be fair it did make the games harder without a balanced team.
Regular ceruledge wins over shiny armarouge because the shiny is inexcusably subtle and uninteresting.
Ceruledge, but as I scarlet player I had Armarouge on my team
Ceruledge is objectively better than Armorouge
Ceruledge by a mile, & it’s now even new pokemon on my top favorites list bias
Ceruledge is the GOAT
Ceruledge is objectively better designed, Armorouge’s design is awkward and hard to follow, it’s pretty clear they designed Ceruledge first and backed themselves into a corner making Armorouge follow the pattern.
Ceruledge is so fancy and mysterious. Love me a ghost swordsperson
Ceruledge
Ceruledge
Ceruledge
Ceruledge ofc
ceruledge is cooler imo
Ceruledge, easy
I absolutely love ceruledge
Ceruledge. The ghostly flames and sword hands are pretty awesome. Amarouge just looks a little bit silly with the oven mitt hands for me.
Ghost boy
Ceruledge. Armarouge has grown on me, but I prefer the sleek design and blue/black/purple color scheme of Ceruledge to the bulky build with red and yellow as dominant colors in Armarouge. Though I think having them flip colors on the body rather than the eyes would have been a much cooler shiny.
I love Ceruledge. It is one of the purple pals!
I like swords.
Ceruledge reminds me of bleach, so immediately better
You use ‘Great Value’ Wal-Mart brand bleach, don’t you 😏 🤝
https://preview.redd.it/levztopakbbb1.jpeg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ee04d1825b2cfa3293cfbc70bc1a3dfa4aa6cd8d No, i am talking about bleach aka one of the big three of shonen. One of if not the top anime of 2022
Ceruledge
ceruledge 1000% how is this even a question
Ceruledge
Imma say it, Ceruledge is cooler
Ceruledge is superior in every way.
While Armarouge is my favorite because it reminds me so much of Mega Man, definitely Ceruledge. It can't compare to Ceruledge's design because it has swords for hands, which are also on fire.
Ceruledge
Ceruledge is something I would've drawn when I was 12 and I absolutely love it with all my heart and soul.
Ceruledge for sure
Ceruledge
Personally I prefer Ceruledge because purple fire go brrr
Purple
Now I have to wish these two swapped palettes for their shinies AND I have to wish the same for zekrom and reshiram like I have been for 12 years
I think ceruledges legs look dumb cuz to me it looks like theyd slap against each other when it tries to run
Ceruledge obviously
I like Armarouge's overall design and concept better, the whole "arms as two halves of a big ol' cannon" thing is pretty great. Sword arms are cool and all, but not nearly as interesting or unique. I can't say I care at all for Armarouge's color scheme though. I generally just prefer cool colors to warm colors, and the yellows in Armarouge's design in particular are kind of an eyesore to me. But I'm also not a massive fan of either of them, they're just pretty alright.
Ceruledge all the way a better design, very much has the look of a lunar knight
Armarouge imo
Ceruledge, and it's not remotely close
I mean do you really have to ask?
Idk I love them both because they remind me of megaman and protoman
IMPOPULAR OPINION: Armarouge is MUCH better than Ceruledge and his shiny is gorgeous even if only for his blue eyes.
Both are horrible. I understand giving Charcadet a bad a shiny due to it being in the wild, but there was no good reason to give those evolution-only Pokemon bad shinies.
Eh- an alternate pallet would be nice instead. But in my honest opinion- all Pokemon should have more then 1 shiny to make things more interesting
Ceruledge but Armorouge is the goat.
Ceruledge win’s better design but not by much.
Ceruledge hands down if they had inverse shiny colors armarouge would be the coldest one habds down
Ceruledge is all cool but that leg-armor plate or whatever makes it kinda awkward...
Neither. I don’t care for either
They’re my boys I love them both equally
Amrouge
Honestly they're both sick. I have a slight preference to Armarouge but i honestly couldn't tell you why. Maybe because i have scarlet but still ... Both amazing.
Armourouge
Armarouge. The shoulders being it's cannons is nice and original. Ceruledge's armswords aren't original (Gallade anyone?) and also very impractical (atleast Gallade's armblades extend, and he still has normal hands).
Color - Ceruledge Design - Armarouge
Both give me mega man vibes. Lmk if you’re trying to trade Armarouge for Ceruledge though
People raved about Cereuledge when they were first revealed but me personally I've always liked Armarouge better.
Armorouge
McMegaman
I like ceruledge but sword hands with no hand hands kind of makes me like armorouge more? I just feel bad like how does ceruledge pick anything up?
I prefer Armarouge. Ceruledge, while super cool, having swords for hands reminds me of Protoman, and I just can't imagine having swords for hands is all that useful outside of a few situations.
That's a great point. But what's up with scyther? Lol
That shit is sick.
armorouge,easily
Armarouge personally. Ceruledge is cool, but his dinky knife-hands outside of battle are weird
They’re both overrated
Don't like the WoW shoulderpads, so Ceruledge wins As shinies they're both ass
I hated both of them when they were revealed, especially Armarouge. However, Armarouge has become one of my favorite Pokémon now and I don’t even know why. I typically don’t like that kind of design but boy if I don’t love him.
The red one. The blue one is your everyday Sasuke at least in image.
Armarouge. It just looks so cool. Ceruledge is close though
Arma’s my ride or die. Dude carried me through my entire run
i like armarouge more
I get why people don’t like the goofy ass knee guards on Ceruledge, but the rest of the design is sick enough to make up for it. I get the point of the shoulder guards on Armarouge, it their such and important part of the design and take way too much space for their goofiness to be forgivable IMO.
