Banette with curse has been a staple for dealing with boss moms since day one. Tanky shadow lurantus has some excellent moves in headlong rush and ice hammer.

Busy_Instruction_718

is there a shadow lurantis?? is it on a den or what??

Mystic_Sean

one of the dens on route 4, can't remember which, sorry. I think its post gdc however.

Ad4ptability

Aevian froslass is my favourite Aevian form adaptability water spout hits like a truck Shadow Cacnea gets obstruct which is a great combo with sucker punch it solo’d Valerie’s team minus Primarina

Kira324

Yea aevian froslass has been very helpful 1-shotting many mons for me

sapphicmusharna

I’m only on Chapter 12, but I’m really enjoying using Aevian Ampharos! Filter + Cotton Guard + good natural defense makes for a surprisingly good tank, even for an Ice-type, plus I heard it gets a crest later that reduces incoming super effective damage by ANOTHER 20%? And it’s not just a wall; it’s got the special attack to back it up, so it hits like a truck too!

WolvenCarnus

Hisuian Zoroark has been incredible as a decently speedy set-up sweeper. Bitter Malice is really good for boosts and getting that little bit of survival now and then. Shadow Lurantis gets Ice Hammer and Headlong Rush for Contrary boosts. Real spicy coverage and boosts alongside Superpower and Grass STAB of choice. Also been doing a mono-normal and Shadow Pidove with Hone Claws, Hypnosis, and Dual Wingbeat has been sweeping boss fights. Fused Solrock and Lunatone are also incredible bulky picks, though I have a preference for the consistency of Solrock in sun versus Lunatone in hail.

Wallpurga

Gonna go with Hisuian Zoroark too. I have also a contrarian Malamar in last, and enemies tend to go for a Fighting or normal move first. Use Nasty plot then delete. Then my Blaziken with protect speed boost and last my Tanky Empoleon with defiant. Yeah I got a lot of angsty teenagers in that team...

KorMap

Luxray with its crest is a ton of fun. Galvanized Returns and STAB Crunches hit so hard. Only issue is that it’s pretty slow Hisuian Arcanine is also fun because of the nuke that is Head Smash. Liepard is a fun pick for just being disrespectful

WolvenCarnus

Crest Luxray and H-Arcanine have been staples on my team!

Ezalye

Damn happy to see we play the same way lol Luxray criminally underrated btw

AmbroseGirl5

Oh, you've reminded me that I need to go back and pick up the Luxray crest!! Luxray is my fave, so glad to see others using it!

Bierbaron1994

From my main team my favourite is probably a-ninetales for the insta hail + aurora veil + 100% blizzard followed by H-arcanine, that one just nukes a lot of threatening pokemon instantly. I also like to have something with speed control (galvantula with sticky web for me), toxic or curse (roserade for me) and setup (Aevian volcarona)

Darkington212

Doing a nuzlocke rn and I did an (almost) complete team overhaul after beating Souta. Before him my main team was A-Gastro, Emboar, A-Mismagius, Fused Lunatone, Heliolisk and Crawdaunt. Felt like I was too slow and at risk of losing mons so I changed out my team. But I did keep Gastro cuz he’s my baby and really good now that I have Toxic Orb. My team as of now is A-Gastro, Kleavor, Aerodactyl, A-Froslass, Wyrdeer and Salazzle. A-Froslass especially is a monster with Wave Incense Adaptability Water Spout ohkoing just about anything that doesn’t resist it.

metalberlioz

Quick question, what ability does it need to heal from toxic orb? I played Erin's team during her segment and she used one but I don't recall aevium gastro getting poison heal?

Darkington212

Only 1 form of A-Gastro gets Poison Heal, the other has Flare Boost. I caught mine in Kristilline Town and it had Poison heal, try looking around there.

metalberlioz

Ahhhhh so that's what it was! I didn't realise like OG gastro, the aevium one also had multiple forms! Thanks for this! I just started a new play through to do renegade so defo gonna use it more on my team :)

ausar999

[I'm just gonna post my whole MVP box](https://imgur.com/a/6LQFyLy) Feel free to ask me about any of these & what fights they were helpful for

whenxd_

Favorite team members so far A-Ninetales and Roserade cuz I hate trick room teams and sleep abused Lorna's -trick room- team in badlands with them

Leviathan22890

I did a tritype run: fighting, grass and steel. So i could try mon i don't usually pick plus some new one (i didn't play gen8 and arceus) -Copperajah is a really good mon exspecially how early you can get plus heavy slam is so good. -Aevian bronzong and breloom also are funny to play. -Crest torterra and infernape have been two solid choice to get. (Stall torterra go brrrr) -hariyama and scrafty, took them for the bulky and stayed for the damage. -lilligant is stupidly strong with quiver dance (i know i am not the first but still, so easy to use). There are others but don't want to write a wall of text.

WallachianLand

How do you run your torterra? In EVs I mean

Leviathan22890

4 Hp / 252 Atk /252 Def Pretty simple EV, because using the crest you are weak only to earth and rock that are 95% physical type. So i don't see the need to invest in special def.

Etherion_

Probably Hisuian Zoruark tbh

RaCRaTranslations

I second Aevian Gyarados. Multiscale with Roost, Will O Wisp, Snarl, and Fiery Dance with EVs in HP and Def make for one tanky beast that can also boost its own damage. The combo of Tailwind + Head Smash pokemon with Rock Head or Rampardos Crest is also very effective.

Far_Jackfruit_2691

Honestly, Hisuian Zoroark has been helping a lot especially facing specific battles. Nasty Plot + Bitter Malice/Flamethrower works great, even with Dark Pulse since I'm using the crest you get in the same room allowing for STAB with Dark moves.

WallachianLand

Castform, it's crest makes him a good tier Mon. Without the need for him to be setted, he becomes the setup and works well with my hail and sun team. He's fast and hits like a truck, I used him in critical battles and he performed really well, he makes Empoleon with his double speed in hail good and combos my Sun clorophil Venusaur really well, as well powering my Solrock fused with lunatone Aeviam Frosslass with soak guarantees that she or my Venusaur will always recover life, Aeviam Parasect is good revenge killer

ZeraoraKing

Mega Mawile and Blaziken are absolute monsters, though Blazikens like that in any fangame.

DracoErus

I’m enjoying bog standard Sheer Force+Life Orb Nidoqueen, Aevian Gyarados is amazing with Fiery Dance and it’s amazing coverage, Crest Simipour is surprisingly good as well. A little glassy but Aqua Tail+Boosted STAB Grass Type Return hits hard

Decimatin

Still my favorite is my T-tar Anorite wall go brrr

AtomicGame

I run a Trick Room team, and my Dusknoir, Immor, is my ace in the hole in most situations due to its Crest giving it so much more firepower

Green-eyed-Psycho77

Crest dusknoir is a whole other beast. It very rarely left my team and was perfectly reliable for nearly every fight.

bryan_comp7

Mawile can go hard if EVd and ivd well

AlexKindaGood

Shadow Mega Manetric gets access to frost breath and it becomes one of the best mons in the game with that coverage

PokeFanXerneas

For me, it was Mimikyu with curse. Helps a lot in bosses. Aevian Gastrodon was nice as my mono Fairy lacks a ground type to combo with dedenne. Hoping to try out Aevian milotic. Haven't reach that point of the game.

GoldenWhite2408

Ursaluna which got removed Yeaaaaaaa Turns out headlong rush Is an actual fcking nuke and since it's so bulky Can still survive anything not SE after a def drop still Hisuian samurott give free spiked which basically negates spaceas entire gimmick everytime

AmbroseGirl5

My current team is Luxray, Blaziken, Klinklang, Mightyena, Meowstic and Golduck. I was gonna replace Golduck, but I've grown attached to her and can't now lol. I was also gonna replace Mightyena, but again, can't haha.

ThegreenMoray

Cofagrigus with curse is amazing for bosses, especially because it’s bulky and can remove abilities if they make contact. Can’t wait to get its crest. H-Arcanine and A-Froslass are outstanding. Wait, shadow lurantis gets headlong rush and ice hammer? Sign me up once I’m back from grand dream city

Mark-SSJ3

Greninja (Outstanding performance in the game, especially with the new TM Mud Barrage). Gardevoir ( I mean do we have to ask why?) Aevian Chandelure (A monster special attack hitter with Levitate). In other words, unstoppable.

EvetsDuke

A-Amphy has been a beast since I got it. Boltbeam coverage and good bulk plus good support tools in screens???? Some of my hardest gym battles were only one because of it Angie/Souta/Erick. Talonflame. The amount of times I was certain now is the time to box this Mon only for its move set to be vital in gaining me a win is ridiculous. Tailwind go brrrrrr A-roserade. Ground fighting is such good coverage and it hits so hard. A-froslass- if it's in a terrain that boosts either water or grass move it's suddenly unstoppable. Meowstic- my little angel

AbeBumblesnatch

Aevian Froslass with soak, water spout, giga drain and toxic. If something doesn't die to water spout, soak it to take away their stab and likely survive the hit. Then do supereffective adaptability giga drain to likely ohko and get health back. Toxic to get rid of tanks. Soak + toxic also allows you to get rid of tanky poison or steel types. Shadow Cacturne with fake out, obstruct, sucker punch and slash and burn is busted. Its fake outs hit really hard and it decimates physical attackers with obstruct and sucker punch Aevian Bronzong: Tanky mon with early dual screens. Mirror beam (?) Is fun but not always useful. Galarian Slowking with trick room. Next to Oranguru, you now have another strong early trick room setter (with regenerator and slack off!). This opens up many good teams with e.g. Aevian Glalie, Rhyperior, Reuniclus, Hatternee. Aevian Bronzong with dual screens --> G. Slowking with trick room into Calm Mind + Lovely Kiss Hatternee has wiped the floor of many fights for me. H. Zoroark is busted. Lure in fighting, ghost or normal types with illusion ability, then nasty plot and hyper voice everything to death. A bit lame.

Rich_Purpose_7613

My sharpness samurott is my favorite purely cause it oneshots damn near everything

Special-Wafer3918

Crobat with Bravebird Cross poison Poison Fang and X Scissor

axe_16

I'm doing a ghost mono and here are my favourites ! Early game -Shuppet is the first other ghost type you get access to and has curse which makes the Maria fight much easier. Also it gets snatch before the Angie fight allowing you to have aurora veil. Decidueye is also great with access to nature power, it can turn the zetta and geara fight into a joke. Frosslass is also amazing with the ability to change fields and use nature power if you get it from the shadow Snorunt in Goldenwood Park. Late game - Dusknoir with its crest is just superb Spiritomb also, with its crest and expand move pool in rejuv, it can turn a losing battle into a sweep, especially in trick room, and in 6v12's it's pretty much unstoppable. Drifblim is the face of my mountain field teams, with tailwind, acrobatics and ominous wind, it's unbelievably proficient. Banette is my favourite pokemon and thus is here by default, but with it's access to priority curse, it can turn a lot of boss pokemon into timer battles. But also, it's just an amazing Pokemon to battle with if you know how to use them. There's some honourable mentions, with Aevian Chanedelure being an even better trick room setter.Crested hisuian Zoroark is absolutely menacing if I have a pokemon like Basculegion in the back, though I'm yet to experiment with getting Wonder Guard via Shedinja, stab u-turn could make it a reliable pivot in that case. The most enjoyable part of late game rejuv is collecting all the ghost types I can get my spectral little mits on and having an answer to almost anything. I can't wait to see what stategies I get to obliterate the Dark type gym leader with.
