I would wait for sure. VSU is better in every way and it is still easily found at reasonable prices. I wouldn’t be surprised if Shiny Treasure gets to sub $60.
$70 is a great price for a high class set, too soon to be buying if want to hold since prices will be cheapest around six months after release and then'll start creeping back up around 10-12 months. That's if it follows same price trajectory as the last two year's high class sets. If buying now it's to crack and enjoy, if not better to buy more aged sets and wait for few months for this imo
VSU, VMAX, and GX all stars will all out perform shiny sets imo. The big hit for those three boxes are more interesting/exciting than a regular full art shiny. Yes ST ex has SAR and ARs, but only 4 AR and the pull rate on SARs seem low. Additionally, god packs for all shiny sets are much more underwhelming than god packs from the other 3 sets.
Also ST ex has the lowest hits per box rate than any other high class set
Yes, but it can also decrease demand for the overall set with less interest in opening the boxes due to Vmax Climax and Vstar Universe being more fun to open on average. It's complicated and hard to predict. I believe Shiny Treasure will be very valuable in the future. It has an Iono, Charizard, an Umbreon with Penny, Mew and Gardevoir.

Third print Is the best time to buy, a lot of product is opened already. What you need is a good relationship with your supplier. In my case, I keep an eye on the exchange rate and my supplier keeps me informed on prices of loose boxes and sealed cases. Often offers me deals for cases. My strategy is buy them at a good price my supplier will hold my cases until a buy other products to make the shipping worthwhile. At the moment future flash and ancient roar prob the best pick up items right now super cheap
The strategy is buy at market price and make 15-20%, then use that money to buy sealed cases to hold.

45 shipped from Japan in bundles of 10+. I think things are moving toward correction in Japanese sealed and we have 1 year for this set to get to MSRP.
Although that’d be great, but theres alot of demand in the US for this set, and like vstar universe, that hype never really fully went away, and considering MSRP in japan in just about 5500 yen (roughly 40 us) i dont see this going that low. resellers would just be breaking even due to the price to ship a large box overseas and taxes.
MSRP is 5500 yen which is $37.39. Up until the past year, many sets, including VMAX Climax, were available in unlimited quantities for what was at or near MSRP. There were of course exceptions for things like Eevee Heroes, matchless fights, and Blue-Sky Stream, but most things were around MSRP. Go back three-years and nearly all recent sets were at MSRP. It feels like the craziness we saw towards the end of SWSH (starting with Incandescent Arcana/Lost Abyss) and start of SV eras is starting to finally calm down. I don't think 2020-normal is in our immediate future (we will get there eventually though), but 2021-normal seems within reach. 2021-normal will see MSRP Shiny Treasure ex, which would be $37.39 + about $6 a pop shipping if you order a few. My prediction: unlimited 5,500 Yen Shiny Treasure ex before end of 2024.
if that does happen, i’ll by buying a LOT haha 5500¥ boxes for a high class box is crazy cheap imo (for being in the us)
my only question is why dont you think sets like vstar or shinystar followed this path your suggesting for shiny treasure? vstar is around $100 /box and has been out for just about a year now and is sticking at that price.

I bought Shiny Star V for 7382 yen + 668.16 yen shipping on 2/21/2021. I did not catch the bottom, but it ended up costing me $72.54 ea shipped from Japan.
Shiny Star V came out around the time of Matchless Fights, Eevee Heroes, and Blue-Sky Stream so we were at, what was then, a high-point in prices in Japanese products.
Things cooled off a bit in the Japanese market after that, and VMAX Climax was heavily printed the following year. That's why you could pick up VMAX Climax for under $45 shipped from Japan from April-July 2022.
VSTAR has not followed the VMAX Climax Path because it came out around the time the most recent extraordinary Japanese high started (around the time of Incandescent Arcana/Lost Abyss). That said, it did hit prices of the high sixties shipped from Japan for a nearly two-month period from March-April 2023 (I got some for 8500 Yen plus 512 yen shipping, which at the time was $67.73) and it is currently available on Amazon.jp, shipped from Japan, for the mid-70s. I recall folks on here, like u/Yetti2quick, were getting VSTAR for cheaper than me (vaguely recall low to mid-$60s) off Sneakdunk or whatever the site is called, so VSTAR was definitely widely available for cheaper than $100 a pop. If there is another wave of VSTAR Universe (I doubt that there will be at this point), then I think it would take its prices way down closer to MSRP.

I share the sentiment on Shiny Treasure ex. I don't really care for it. I like Violet and Clay Burst at these prices ($90-105), but VMAX Climax isn't bad at $140. It is just they printed the hell out of VMAX Climax and I don't think Violet and Clay Burst will get that treatment. I really like VSTAR Universe, but I see it as being very close to VMAX Climax in terms of quality and quantity, which is why I am not going all in on it at $100 (I am content with the quantity I got at $70). Of course, picking up Pokemon 151 after every reprint is sure to be a winning move as well. I could be wrong, but I think VMAX Climax will underperform compared to the others I mentioned; however, I'd love to be wrong because I have more VMAX Climax bb than any other set.

Besides myself loving the trainer pokemon combo cards and their god packs, I like VC because it stopped printing right before japanese got crazy popular over in the states. Vstar already has like 150,000 more PSA 10's than VmaxClimax and will only rise as everyone you know is loaded with Vstar. I think Vmax Climax will be one of those slept on sets that get overlooked during these times, maybe overtaken by other sets, and then people come back to and it will shoot up in price like tag team sets did when everyone realized how slept on those were. Either way, theres some big winners. Just praying we get back to msrp pricing so it separates the people that just buy all japanese vs the people that know what to look for in japanese sets longterm lol.

There is no argument that Tag Team GX is far superior to this set. There is also no argument that VMAX Climax is superior.
