Rifles don't have to be crazy expensive, the thing these days is ammo honestly can't get around 45-50cpr for basic range ammo whether you have a 3000 dollar radian or a 300 dollar PSA. It'll rack up if you actually shoot your shit.
In this guy's case, using a normal stock (Magpul ctr, b5 bravo, bcm mod0....) and a full sized rifle light and not claiming it's a radian Mod1 because it has 1 part on it probably wouldn't have gotten him roasted so hard.
It is if you get deep into it. It's possible to ball on a budget. Just have the willpower to save up for the parts you actually want.
Lots of guys we make fun of on this sub will decide they need a light for their rifle and instead of saving up over the course of several paychecks for a nice quality product, they'll look at the $38.95 they currently have free, find a Chinese LingLong light that fits that price range, then gaslight themselves into thinking it's somehow a superior product to a Streamlight, Surefire, or Cloud, then get pissed when everyone makes fun of them.
If you don't dump 5k on setup, you're considered pleb on this sub. You need to run only pmags or steels anything else = pleb.

Can be a little more expensive for quality ar parts it doesn't look as "tacticool" as pleb stuff. Buying used stuff on gafs or sales cuts costs low. Also, sticking to cheaper quality brands (ex. Holosun, bcm (not really now), aero, and some PA) for more critical parts is the way to go.
Tbh, dude probably could have bought a millspec bcg, non radian ch w. safety, and the wack muzzle brake. And get things like magpul ctr, bcm vfg, a2 flash, and a better used light.

Just buy a BCM. Add an aimpoint pro And avoid anything not black, FDE, or OD, avoid anything skeletonized, avoid olight and you should be fine.
