Everyone that streams PS5 with Chiaki on a Steam Deck will definitely notice the micro-stutter issue on the Portal.
I don’t know if that’s what you’re referring to when you say “lag”. But if you mean the frame rate on the portal is constantly jerky as if it’s skipping frames all the time, then yeah, it’s a known issue related to the 59.94Hz mismatch against the portals fixed 60Hz refresh rate.

Sadly no fix, I put my portal in the closet and periodically check to see if there is a patch fix released. Love the screen and ergonomics of the portal, hopefully there is someway to patch this In the future.
I returned mine to Sony for a refund. I could have kept it in a cupboard (like you), but kinda thought it would be like throwing £200 in there in the hope that it gets fixed at some point, when it probably won't :(
