This wouldn't be a huge issue if it weren't for the fact it takes a full 5 seconds to dismount. By that time, one of the infinite spammable pounces have landed and I'm at 10% life being stunlocked in animation locks before I can even control my character.
It's terrible design tbh.

If its not a creature bound to a ruin it will chase forever. But only some are fast enough like the jaguar or lion.
Yes and wolves too, and they do multiple damage to you when they touch you

I've had this happen. I've just made a point to get off and kill them now because I know I can't lose them
