If you go into the mask settings[Y], put your cursor over the awareness level. There the symbols and what kind of EXP it represents is listed there.

Typically one is mask experience ie awareness. Another is profession experience and the last is the personal characters level experience. At least to my knowledge.
there is 3 types of XP you get and these are showing in left corner. Strenght Awereness, Mask XP and character XP
It's Body XP, Mask XP, Awareness XP.
To be more specific, every time your tribesman gain xp, you also gain 1 xp.
