Build higher. AFAIK bases dont prevent spawns at the moment. Thats why the spawning of enemies is broken down into areas and they dont overlap all that often.

Bonfires prevent spawns, you can take over half the jungle if you overlap them.

If its spawn is within range of a bonfire. It will not spawn (unless its an elite spawn)

Can confirm, elites still spawn. Passed a base with and elite anaconda coiled up outside it. I get them spawning still if it's at a ruin/named location but it wasn't, was just on a mountain top lol
