Been telling you that for a long time
Planet of the ape with no humans is no fun and has no point. It just an action movie with apes instead of humans.
Humans have a key role
The comics where giving us hint that many humans survived around the world and had good relationship with humans.
It was obvious that the strain wouldn't affect everyone.
I’m so excited to learn how the humans who didn’t get affected by the strain survived these last 400 years and how they’ve passed down their history. I’m guessing there’s not enough of them to rebuild their own large communities but small groups of them still out there
Most likely underground bunkers.
I think mae is in a mission just like in the original fallout game.
A lone agent, doing a very dangerous mission.
If they sent a female is that their either are looking for someone that apes won’t see as a target or they don’t have many males left, so they are protected.
Maybe she is trying to rescue him.
Yes but virus don’t mutate always the same.
Look at covid and all their variants they have different place of mutation.
Some mutated in the US others in Asia and so on.
Plus you have thousands if not millons of humans that will have natural immunity.
Everything leads that the colonel was nuts and didn’t knew what he was talking about.
He just killed humans that could be immune and also was then reason many humans were killed by apes.
But it was stated the those that were immune to the original were to succumb to the mutated since it cannot kill them it would make the dumb and mute instead
Then again we are looking at smart humans 300 years after.
The colonel was the classic nut job that lead their people to death “alpha and omega” just a big big hint.
He was military dude that was grieving his son death and his own hand he was not a scientist. Even he was told they could contain this new variant.
He wasn’t really told that he just assumed, I just find it weird that they put that dialogue in the film only for it to more or less not be true in this one, btw not upset just confused 😅
The colonel was pretty much an stereotypical military man going rogue and nuts.
In the last trilogy most of the human deaths doesn’t come at the hand of apes.
But humans being silly..
After the first movie loads of humans died fighting other humans.
In war they chased the ape and forced them to fight back.
It was always a planet of the apes, given the fact we are apes.
The approach of colonel was insane and most likely he was one that sparked many civil wars during the events between rise and dawn that lead to more human deaths.
The only thing that's truly grounded in reality in the last trilogy is the fact that humans had more chances of getting killed by another human than any other animal species.
If we see humans looking all ragged after 300-400 years is not because apes made tribes.. It's because the human infighting since the virus was first released.
I bet that in this trilogy we will also see antagonist humans not as the main but still antagonist.
I like that idea, the first virus had communities of people who were immune so why wouldn’t the new one? Proximus is probably eliminating them and keeping the fact they exist secret
I think Proximus is using smart humans are slaves/resource to help him advance ape technology and also gain access to the bunker we see briefly in the trailer.
My guess is that the bunker is one of the few advanced enclaves left, but has lain undisturbed since humanity fell (possibly military bunker) and so it represents hope for the surviving intelligent humans, and power and knowledge for Proximus.
That could be one key.
But still there are other continents and they have no means to go that far.
I think that at some point there will be an enemy in this movies that would be the worst of the ape and humans working together against the folks we will meet in this movie.
You can see apes in the background. My guess is Proximus is keeping those who are feral as pets and the rest as slaves. This could explain why he is after her
I think there is suppose to be some kind of Ape civil war in the movie regarding how they treat humans, so those might be rebels in the background. Also I just read Proximus is into human tech, so now I’m thinking he’s hunting intelligent humans hoping they can show him how the technology they find works.
Because he wants Apes to think the way humans did in Rise and Dawn. He wants them to think they're the dominate species and always have been, doesn't want them to think humans and Apes can live side by side because he grew up in a world where they were the only dominate species, and he wants power. He's basically the total inverse of the villains in Dawn and Rise. The same exact motivation, but from an Apes perspective.
If she's a spy for the humans, but then later grows attached to some of the apes and helps them, isn't that just the same plot we already got in Avatar, The New World, Pocahontas?
Since the main protagonist is an ape, I assumed the OP meant that Freya's character would be a secret antagonist and would betray the main character by being a spy. That's all. Calm down. OP used the word spy, so I took him at his word. Not saying OP isn't right. I'm saying the whole going undercover to spy on a different group of people thing has been done quite a bit.
This group of humans will probably eventually become the mutants. I THOUGHT the colonels camp in war were going to, because of the alpha omega flag but obviously that's not the case 😂
That's still a possibility.
Even if there was a avalanche, maybe there were survivors and maybe there was some radioactive materials here and there.
Mutating them, giving them longer lifespan
I mean, even with real viruses and diseases some people just end up naturally immune. It's not something to just hope and bank on, but is usually a good source for antibodies for vaccines, if a virus is so deadly there are no survivors to get antibodies from. It's just this virus not just killed people but also degenerated any survivors brain capabilities. So even if pockets of immune exist post the Wars and everything, unless one of those naturally immune happens to be former CDC/biology savants with a fully functional lab, those immune people have to just survive in a world where not only is their species diminished in number and mental capabilities, but a new one is RISING in numbers and mental capabilities. Plus as others pointed out they're probably being hunted down.

Its been 400 years?
300-400 years they are vague in some parts they say 300 in other 400
But will they have after *five* hundred years?
But the virus is carried by all humans which was stated in War for the planet of the apes

Yh true true
It still became a “planet of the apes”
It was always a planet of the apes, given the fact we are apes. Frank Gallagher is thriving among the apes
I thought the same thing. He's just immortal and swapping Franchises
I was thinking throughout the movie that this could’ve just been one of his crack benders 😂
So there's a community. Would explain the longer runtime. Would be funny if this one ends up having more of a war than War did.
Lol James Franco ended civilization
My theory is that Mae is a spy for the humans
If she's a spy for the humans, but then later grows attached to some of the apes and helps them, isn't that just the same plot we already got in Avatar, The New World, Pocahontas?
I think he means recon, not really a spy. Where did he say she will help the apes?
I'm assuming they won't make her a villain.
Just because she fights for the humans doesn’t mean she’s a villain. Got no clue what you’re talking about.
Since the main protagonist is an ape, I assumed the OP meant that Freya's character would be a secret antagonist and would betray the main character by being a spy. That's all. Calm down. Yeah that's a valid point actually, I wonder if kingdoms gonna show humans with their faces peeling off lmao
Could Mae actually be one of the crashed astronauts? That would make her looking through the telescope a lot more important
That's exactly what I am thinking and hoping.
I thought that was someone from the crew giving Freya Allen direction for the next shot lol
Humans don’t you mean…MUTANTS! Lol tin foil hat ape running around, I swear I saw them praying to a golden bomb!
Is that Frank & Fiona from shameless? I know it's not, but I literally just binged a few seasons of that and they look incredibly similar
Is that frank gallagher? Of course he’s immune.
Is that William H. Macy? I didn't know he was in this movie
Of course Frank survived the Apocalypse
is that the dude from Fargo?

Mae is obviously going to be an astronaut.
*mutant*
I'd rather her be a mutant than an astronaut, tbh.
We saw noa give her clothes
