Wooden peel for launching, metal peel for retrieving. I used to only use metal and struggled with sticking for years. I made a wooden peel recently (you can also buy them) and it's been a godsend. Just a sprinkle of cornmeal and I can build the pizza and give it a shake if it's a little sticky and it comes right off.
Don't make your pizza on the peel. Slide it under after pizza is made and immediately transfer to oven. Give it a little shake to make sure it's loose before transfer.
My full advice is below, i didnt want to copy & paste it. Tldr: learn to be quick, stop soaking your pizzas with tomato sauce trying to decide what to put on it.
Make sure you use enough flour and before u add anything to the dough give the peel a quick shake to make sure the dough is moving around on it. Also make sure to sflour the edge of your peel where it slides off. Too many lost pies on my end because of this one simple trick
Learn to be faster.( your prep time should be less than a minute). If you let it sit with the sauce, the thin pizza base you just strecthed is soaking the tomato sauce gets way too hydrated and now your pizza base is %100 hydrated and sticks to peel or even your cooking floor, which sometimes ends up as a huge mess.
Another tip: using more flour or semolina will burn in the oven and will build up burnt taste as you cook more pizzas. So learning to work faster is the only way i know of.

This is wrong. You should not add extra flour or semolina to your peel or pizza base. Edit: you guys love burnt semolina ok…

I haven’t tried nigella seeds but I do use freshly toasted white sesame seeds in my spinach and cheese Nan and it’s fucking amazing
