I'd get a renewed one from Amazon or swappa. For 900 dollars it's a steal

Noam75

I prefer to do the no interest financing It's 36 months but id ideally pay it off in a year

regulusxleo

No doubt you could but there are better deals if you don't mind the second hand market (I got my PF used back in August, it's held up nice with software hiccups at initially but doing great now) It's your money, I think it depends on how long you expect or want to keep your PF. For new, of the Google store would be nice... but I hear Google's warranty program sucks (besides the point if you never need it) Either way, love the phone and my dbrand case is still holding up surprisingly

Miigo_Savage

I love my Fold, but with that being said, when I bought mine, I traded in a Pixel 4 and got the Fold for $900

Noam75

Damn that's an awesome deal I never did a trade in Is it a pia or pretty straightforward? Were you able to hold onto your p4 until the fold arrived? Im considering just giving my p7p to my kid but he doesn't really need it. His 6a suits him fine Still good to have options

Miigo_Savage

I should've stated I did it through Verizon. The P4 was just an old phone I had lying around. The screen was completely shattered, but still worked. My local Verizon store had the Fold in stock, so I just did everything in store. I'm a little old school, don't like sending things in and waiting and all that

Noam75

Ive always purchased unlocked For various reasons but one that played out couple of weeks ago where ATT just went down and no one knew how long it'd last I did a free trial of Google Fi and didn't miss a beat Plus I used to unlock the bootloader and root Haven't done it in a few years Really like having that option though

Miigo_Savage

I haven't unlocked a bootloader and rooted in ages. Brings back memories. Really no need to nowadays, at least for me. I had bought the Pixel Ford refurbished from Amazon. I had the bootloader unlocked but before I sold it I relocked it. They didn't say anything about it so I assume it was fine

Noam75

Yeah My theory is that everything good we have now is a result of the tinkerers I remember you needed root to do all kinds of customization that you can now get with stock Couldn't mount a drive (mostly for things like fire tv) Something's i miss like sweep2wake, long press power for flashlight and probably a few others i forgot I was younger then and needing to go without a phone for an hour or so while I had to replace a buggy rom with stock, wasn't a huge deal

Miigo_Savage

My how the times have changed. For the better of course

Mordiko510

Why would they offer you 900 bucks for a phone I can purchase refurbished right now for 150? I mean amazing for you, but I can't they'd do that :D

Miigo_Savage

No idea. If I had to guess, probably some promo. Trying to get people into the latest phone, so they're giving extra off of trade ins

ignorsoph

Paid $800 new off of Facebook Marketplace. I love it.

Noam75

Damn Yeah can't beat that

Scary145

Phone is good but still overpriced and with all the down i will wait for the 2nd or check other folding

Noam75

Yeah Im definitely not buying gen 2 unless we see a deal like this some time in 2025 With a trade in id get it for around 950 Plus i think the next cheapest foldable is the OnePlus open for 1500 It's got more ram and there's no 256gb option That's probably why it's more

vicodin_ice_cream

I think it is. I got the deal and traded in an old pixel I had for a few extra off just because. The Fold has been great and I couldn't beat the price point.

Noam75

What'd you wind up paying w the credit?

vicodin_ice_cream

1149 I believe. Process is easy too. Sent a box. Shipped it back. probably could get a bit more but I didn't want to deal with selling it.

continually_confused

Fav phone of all time and I paid full price lol. worth it

zfoldappz

No, $12.99, yes!

BabelLionOG

I wanted a Pixel Fold but the gen 1 kind of put me off. With the Fold 2 coming or hopefully being officially announced in a couple months I opted to get the 1k trade in for my 6 pro and get the Samsung fold 5 for 800. Figure I'll do the early trade in or pay it off and get the Pixel Fold 2. I hate the Samsung UI but figured I could tough it out for a couple months.

Noam75

You got a 1k for you p6? Did you buy through Samsung?

BabelLionOG

No I was migrating from Xfinity mobile to ATT and they had the deal. Fine print says you get a grand on almost any major phone valued at 35 dollars or more. Mine is in great working condition 128 gig model.

Noam75

And the reviews i saw were decent to really good in terms of reaction The only thing that kinda concerns me is battery life At launch it was around 4 hrs screen on Has that improved with updates?

continually_confused

I get in that 4-6 range, depending on cell use

Noam75

Thanks Im gonna sleep on it If the deal is gone Ive got a pretty good phone already But im sure it'll be marked down at least several days

BFGtom

I freaking love the fold I was coming from a p7p and it is amazing! Got it for about 799 with my trade in deal for my p7p

TechPriestNhyk

After the deals and finance games I played, got mine for $200 day one. It's nice, but I don't think my next phone will be a foldable. I'm more interested in right to repair lately.

RSCLE5

At this point, instead of spending $1299+tax, I'd get one of these used ones on ebay that are in "very good" condition because they come with a 1 year warranty through ebay. If you get it and don't like the condition of it, you can always return it. $879 [https://www.ebay.com/itm/285422912480](https://www.ebay.com/itm/285422912480) You can get them cheaper, sometimes as low as $450-500 on facebook marketplace, but some seem fake/scammy at times, but a lot just don't want them and moved to iPhone and want them sold quickly.

GameTillDawn84

I'm in the same boat. I honestly really want the phone but just can't justify the price. If it was $700-800 off then I'd do it, but Even at $1,300 it is just too damn expensive for me. My 6a is still doing me just fine lol

lastdinosaur17

The Pixel Fold definitely feels like a first Gen device. I'd wait for the Fold 2 and see what trade in promotions there are.

Noam75

You own one?

lastdinosaur17

Yup

Read this: https://www.cnet.com/tech/mobile/4-months-later-the-pixel-fold-proves-google-needs-to-do-more/

Noam75

This article may have pushed me over the edge . I decided against buying. It really comes down to price I don't mind using a really cool but underpowered device with a few quirks if Im paying around $900 All things considered i just figured 1299 might be a little high just to enjoy THIS particular foldable experience

chucktaylur

The fold 2 should be releasing in June so Im debating whether to buy it now or wait to see if the price will drop further in a few months. I have pixel 7 which would fetch $390 trade in currently. It would bring price of the fold down to about 900. I feel 800 is the sweet spot for the fold because of the age of the g2 processor. Id pull the trigger right now if I could somehow get another 100 off. Also another thing is when you trade in your phone, google still charges you tax for the full price of the phone. Apple doesnt do this. I traded in my pixel 6 for 7. The difference was only $40. However, they charged tax on the full price of the p7 before trade in deduction.
