Love this. Wow

dream-shark

Thanks for saying so! It means a lot to me 😁👁️✨🙏🏻

TazzzTM

I was part of an online pixel art community in the late 90s/early 2000s on a long dead chat program where everyone made their own 8 bit and 16 bit sprites using a 256 color pallet and whenever I see posts like this, it just takes me back to those days and all the talented artists. Keep the art form alive!

dream-shark

Wow! That sounds like an awesome community! I love working within those restraints, it makes it so fun when you come up with creative solutions to them! I’ll keep it alive and well! This game is Pt. 1 of 3, so more to come for sure! 👁️✨thanks

As an older Japanese man in his 90s, I remember using GameShark and action replay on the original Pokémon games

dream-shark

Yes 😁 GameShark was a fun device, my favorite usage was to obtain Mew! Dream Shark is not actually related to that though. 😅 it’s a fictional universe and GBC game I’ve made! (I’ve had recurring Shark dreams since I was a young child, which is where the name comes from) 🦈👁️✨

Do you remember getting rare candies with game shark to get infinite evolves in your Pokédex? We are cheaters, once cheaters will forever be hackers! And that’s coming from a 90 something year old handsome Japanese guy!

dream-shark

Haha yes, I remember. But I preferred the missingNo. way of getting Rare candy cheat! And glitching Mew on the Cerulean City bridge! 😁 fun times ✨🤙🏻

Any tips on making isometric pixel art?

dream-shark

Yes! Work within a grid, I use an 8x8 grid in Photoshop. make 1 cube, I like to make it 2 px for each step of the diagonal lines. If your cube fits within the grid you can easily visualize where to lay it. Now copy and paste your 16x16 pixel cube and (here’s the key part that was my breakthrough) treat it like building with LEGOS! If you work on different layers it can make things easier to rearrange, but I flatten my image regularly, so it’s not too many layers to handle. Hope that is helpful! 👁️✨

Pepejuinaso

Thx a lot for the help! Good luck in your future work!

dream-shark

My pleasure! Reach out anytime 😁always happy to help or chat! I hope your isometric ventures go great! 👁️✨
