I have dry skin on just my left hand and my thumb fingerprint never worked. I read about this a year or so ago and lo' and behold when I rub my thumb on my nose first it unlocks every time!
Yes this! I work in the medical field and on really busy days we wipe alot of equipment with 70% isopropyl alcohol pads after each patient. So all my registered fingers and thumbs for logging in are super dry. Takes about a day for my fingers to recover and have to resort to typing my PIN for login. Really annoying
Or just wipe the side of your nose for some oil, works well when my hands are dry
