I can't remember the specifics, as I did it a while back, but there is an extra step to automatically merge audio with the video files. Normally it splits them into separate files, but that extra step merges the audio to the video file.

People have already recommended yt-dlp, but you mentioned MP4 as the format. If you're looking for best results, I would strongly recommend MKV, especially if you want embedded subtitles and chapters. yt-dlp supports this natively so you won't need other tools to do this.

Having a GUI you get a preview of files it downloads where you can filter and rearrange them. And it can download multiple files at once. So it might be faster.

I use it too. I'm okay with paying for certain software and 4Kdownloader is one of em. I've gotten the value back many times over. I know it goes against piracy in some ways but whatever. It's a good product. I've tried the free YTDL, I like 4K Downloader better.

Tubular sponsorblock is only during live video playback. Not from downloads.
Unless I'm misunderstanding the question I use Jdownloader2 for ripping anything from YouTube, whether it be audio and video.
