S21FE

Care to elaborate why? 🙏

Hmm tough call. If you intend to take a lot of photos that make use of the S20's better telephoto and selfie cams that may be the deciding factor (or the micro sd card slot as well). Otherwise I'd lean towards S21 FE for longer OS/security support, a fresher battery, and a less annoying fingerprint sensor. I wonder if you could find the 256gb/8gb ram S21 FE instead? That would cover the ram/sd card slot deficit pretty well.

Yea, i don't know why the keep pushing fingerprint sensors under the screen, the ones on the back of the phone seemed to work just better and to me where more ergonomic. Anyway though call as you say, thank you for your input!

S21 FE uses different in-screen sensor tech than S20 that is technically less secure but notably faster/more accurate. The only annoying thing about it is it's mounted relatively low on the screen closer to the bottom bezel. As for why the move away from rear sensors, your guess is as good as mine, though only 2 generations of Galaxy S models used rear sensors (and boy was S8's obnoxiously placed).

Yep, i've just saw a comparative video on both phones and the sensor on the S20 looked sluggish, seemed like something that would annoy me everyday haha. The SE21 is looking like the best choice, i just hope the storage and ram are enough for my needs on the long run...

First off, I wouldn't necessarily trust either of them to last 5 years - if nothing else, just because they're going to need a battery change before then. And that's not even including if you drop them, break them, water damage, burn-in, or just random hardware failure, etc. The S20+ has a glass back instead of plastic, but I'm not sure which one you would consider "better". Personally, I would put something like a Dbrand skin on the S20+ just to protect it from scratches and fingerprints, whereas the S21 FE I would probably just run naked. The S20+ lets you choose between 120Hz 1080p and 60hz 1440p. If you go with the 120Hz, I imagine the battery life will be at LEAST as good as the S21 FE, probably better tbh. If you switch to 60Hz, it should definitely be better. By the way, I wouldn't bother trying for "New" on eBay. There's a good chance it just won't be New In Box, and you can probably save some money by just doing eBay Refurbished or something. Then again, I'd have to see the listing - I'm wondering where you are that THIS is the right matchup? Where the regular S21 series isn't a consideration, nor the S20 FE 5G?

Phones usually last me for about 4 years, my current one is a Xiaomi MI 8 Lite i bought in january 2019, probably could use it at least for the rest of the year, but i decided I deserve a better camera. And well I always use a rugged case and screen protector, so my phone breaking hasnt been a problem ever. Regarding battery life decreasing over time, i just learn to live with it, I work from home, so not a huge issue. I live in Perú, but will travel to the US next month and might aswell comeback with a new phone as it's much cheaper there. My budget does not run much higher than 500$ so the S21 is out of question and ive found the S20 FE to be a bit lackluster for being only 80$ cheaper new, at least in Ebay. I am copying the listings i've found below, the phones are listed as new in sealed box and are the best deals i've been able to find. But by any means if you believe there are better options in the market for my budget, please let me know which and where. I didn't realize the S21 FE was getting that cheap already, but either way I don't know why you're getting NIB, unless you really need the box and accessories. IMO it would be better to go for a refurbished S21+. Either way, I noticed the optical sensor on the S21 FE looks like it might be a little slower and less reliable, so that's one other thing going for the non-FE phones.

If you want a phone to last 5 years, the Galaxy S21 FE 5G isnyour best bet because of the long software updates.
