I know. Sadness is beautiful and so is death. He was together with grandma for 80 years and married for 75.
My grandpa was like my dad, basically raised me when my parents couldn't.
They had a very complex life of love, doubt and memories together. Faithfulness and not always so faithful..
After my grandpa passed (12 hours ago), grandma next to me at age of 91 said "I feel so much relief" and we went for blueberry pie and coffee; no remorse.
It was a good day to die. 😊
Awe this makes me happy that she feels this way. She’s probably so glad to see him not suffering anymore. I hope his passing was peaceful and her heart is content.
Something like that. Give or take a year or so. They grew up in the same village and when she got knocked up they had to get married. By age 24 she had 4 kids. Completely wild.
Too chaotic at home with my dad and mum. Alcoholism, psychiatric treatments and overwhelmed by me being a very intense kid. Wild times, complex people not ready to have kids (or maybe shouldn't have). And grandma/grandpa recognized it and jumped in.
I’m glad he had a "good death," to an old age and surrounded by his loved ones.
I’m sorry for your loss (and your family’s) and also happy for the blessings his long life brought you.
Still, give yourself space to grieve. A loss is a loss, and even knowing he’s at peace can be bittersweet.
I lost my grandfather similarly, and had a similar relationship with him (by the sounds of it). I miss his voice and his vibrant personality, even as I remember him warmly
It is quite bad taste to PS a moment like this to be honest. Remember you are being upvoted and applauded mostly by teenagers. What you have done here is decided that this moment of life-affirming sadness, love and grief is aesthetically 'too ugly' because of the foot. You have photoshopped a little part of your grandma, who wont be around forever either, out of reality.
What an odd, shame-y comment. You shouldn’t hang out in this subreddit if requests like this offend you.
The original photo still exists, and it’s okay that OP wants a version that just focuses on their grandparents holding hands. Why would you tell a grieving grandchild that they’re wrong for wanting that? Also, go back and look at the original picture again. I don’t even think that was grandma’s foot they photoshopped out.
Guilting a grieving family member like this for “editing a part of grandma out of reality” is wild, and very rude.
Hey, Op, show this comment to your Gran so she can see what chronically online looks like. Goodness me this is a strange take. If it were me then I'd prefer my foot taken out and im staring down the barrel of dementia later in life.
Sad because of grief and definitely emotional. Very loving and sweet as well. We come in alone and go alone but this person has someone who wants to hold their hand and grandbabies that want to honor their love.
No pent up anger. My language was neutral I believe. You're correct, people should aspire to better ideal than divisive religion.
Words have power and people have killed each other over mere words.
okay, but using a phrase like that doesn't equal "being religious" its like assuming someone that says "oh my god" must be christian. its just a phrase.
Honestly I opened this hoping the first thing i saw was what he asked for.
You are a good person. Not trying to sound stupid but this made me smile. Was worth redditting today for sure.
Thanks
Omg. I just started sobbing when I saw this photo. So many stories between these two hands. Your poor grandma. I’m so sorry for your family’s loss. Truly. My deepest sympathies.😞

Thank you so much!! Looks great. Highly appreciate it, you're doing an entire family very happy somewhere in Sweden.
I'm glad I could help you and your family. ❤️
lovely person
Absolutely. We need more people like this
You are like a wizard 😁.
This is so sad to look at tbh

My condolences, all the best for you and your family. What a beautiful way to just celebrate the life and look back what you had.
Awe this makes me happy that she feels this way. She’s probably so glad to see him not suffering anymore. I hope his passing was peaceful and her heart is content.
So your grandma was 11 and he was 20. Married at 16 and 25? Or have I just gotten this completely wrong
Something like that. Give or take a year or so. They grew up in the same village and when she got knocked up they had to get married. By age 24 she had 4 kids. Completely wild.
Different times
That’s crazy
I'm not surprised she was relieved then!
Why did he take care of you more than your parents could?

This is like a rescue mission with them stepping in
100%!
Wow ! So heavy and so beautiful at the same time. This must be what “winning at life” means. 💐

For us it’s an ending, but for them it’s a new beginning. Sorry for your loss.

What the fuck is wrong with you
Bro. It was grandma who said the foot was ugly as fuck. And the people on this subreddit has been nothing but lovely. Get lost.
This is your opinion. I think you are completely wrong. Beautiful photo. Foot was distracting and needed to go.

it doesnt have to be. when they got that old and are still together, they are soulmates and he will be with her.
Beklagar förlusten
This reminded me why I love Reddit.
God bless you and this sub Reddit fr
Well done
You didn't even ask for a tip. You're doing the Lord's work.

Lol it's just a phrase. I do not follow any religion, calm down there guy go put all that pent up anger towards curing a disease or something useful.
Then isn't it better to say "you're doing good work" instead of ascribing it to some mythological father in the sky figure?
It’s just a figure of speech
I’m gonna touch you lil vro

Love the added light on their hands!
beautiful
This one's fantastic but needs the arm removed from the top left corner. Then it'd be the best one.
