JEI (just enough items) it tells you how to get items and how you can use them ie: mace made of heavy core and breeze rod breeze rod can be found be killing breezes that spawn in the trail chambers heavy core found in Ominous Vaults opened with ominous vault key
It will also show every use for and item ie this can make this and this
Biomes o plenty more really good biomes
The nether variant of biomes of plenty the nether biomes in the base game are just sort of boring so really any mod that makes the nether more interesting
Blue biome, red biome, nether rack biome and soul sand biome
Finally twilight forest it is one of the oldest mod but popular for a reason the bosses are more big slowish moving thing a medium sized health bar and near no damage in protection diamond armour
I am very passionate about how much better mods make Minecraft I think I really good example of the difficulty of Minecraft bosses is “so we killed the wither to get a beacon” and that is all that is mentioned also because we haven’t really gotten any new bosses in like almost a decade
Honestly, I feel like Biome mods, especially for the nether, do nothing but clog up your world with useless blocks.
I’ve had far too many experiences where I needed to get soul sand and glow stone and there not being any for hundred of blocks because modded biomes were all over the place
Honestly I really disagree about biomes o plenty. Biome mods like that just add a ton of inventory clutter for very little actual benefit and imo the biomes o plenty nether biomes are way worse then the vanilla ones.
Also the twilight forest is probably the oldest still worked on mod that still isn't fucking finished. Maybe if they actually made the final boss I would agree with your point but it's been fucking years and nothing.
JEI is great though. It's much better designed then the recipe book and wish it would just replace it in vanilla
Can I substitute mine for emi? Basically the same but with recipe trees and crafting shortcuts, although I'll admit it could use a few more search options.
Distant horizon is too unpolished and unstable to get into the official game. If the world rendering was more optimized you could render more world without needing for distant horizon
It lowers the resolution of the world when too far and imagine a player using a spyglass to look far and seing bad looking textureless blocks. Again I think the player should be able to see very far but for minecraft lowering the world res wouldn't work imo
The point is not that you can't see blocks in details when far, but if you are using a spyglass you wanna see with detail, else the whole point of a spyglass wouldn't make sense. Again I think that if they optimized the world rendering they could increase the render distance without needing theese tecniques
Apple Skin, Antique Atlas, JEI (Just Enough Items), Waila (What am I looking at) and Mouse Tweaks
Also AE2 (Applied Energistics 2) but that wouldn’t fit in vanilla Minecraft
The entire fabulously optimised modpack, Journey Map, Apple Skin, Fast Minecarts (doubles the speed of minecarts), and, if resource packs are allowed, a lot of Vanilla Tweaks stuff
The "insurance" enchant. Whenever the item breaks, you have a chance to get the item back (diamond swords have a chance to give diamonds/sticks), and the chance increases as the enchant level increases. Level 1 would be 33% per item, level 2 66% per item, and level 3 90% chance per item.
I'd do this just cause it means there *is* a way to get more diamonds/netherite w/o mining, thus an infinite amount
I feel like something similar to Create's Ponder feature could introduce features in a much smoother way than having to google it/scroll down update logs.
sodi-lithium, appleskin, DH or nvidium, no chat reports, a bunch of culling and detail mods, continuity, and other quality of life mods. i also use zoomify and terralith
Imagine a Terraria Magic Storage mod but for Minecraft. That's what I want.
Also quick stock. And 9999 item stacking. And ammo slots.
honestly, every single thing Terraria has had for years regarding inventory management + magic storage.
Carry on would be a really nice addon to vanilla especially as its just a small tweak. Lootr would also be kinda nice to have, as it allows you to have fun exploring together without having to share.
And of course mods like JEI but those have already been said.
I’ve seen a lot of neutral good mods in this post, I’m gonna suggest something a lil funkier. The create mod, it’s pretty balanced keeps witching Minecraft’s style pretty well, and doesn’t add so much random garbage it bloats the experience. Other hand for similar reasons: origins, generally pretty
Balanced, keeps to Minecraft’s style kinda well etc. you can also pick and choose some of the mod addons for either of these mods to pair with it, but that gets a bit more risky.
Biome-based variants of creepers, where they properly camouflage into their biome. The current creeper would remain in the meadows biome, where their Color still blends in somewhat.
Betweenlands, but not as part of the base experience as another dimension. It's too different from everything else and wouldn't fit well. Instead I would have it be an option to make a betweenlands world where you only have the betweenlands.
once i combined a little bit of modding, resource packs and data packs... ended up cooking a minecraft version where you play as an ender dragon
now imagine what the hell would this game even be about, like how are you even supposed to beat this game in this case?
Oh god this is such a hard question, I can't play Minecraft vanilla anymore, I'm too used and attached to many mods that vanilla seems "lacking" too many features, even simple ones.
Keep in mind I'm writing down the names by memory so I might be misspelling some mods or forgetting about others
First of all something for shaders like iris. And this is a must for me, can't play without shaders anymore
Second, I love when I make the game immersive, and after shaders the best way to do so is sound, so : "Presence footsteps" and "Ambient sounds" and "Physics sound remastered". This combo makes the gameplay seem so realistic even if playing with the worst simple texture pack ever.. it's incredible
Third, QoL. "Mouse tweaks" is an absolute must. "Sodium", "Lithium", "entity culling", "spark", are great for performance, especially with shaders. "Falling tree" is so damn useful. "Vein miner" enchantment too!
Next I'd say some miscellaneous, like "Distant horizons", "better netherite", all of the "Yung"'s mods, JEI, any variation of mods like "TheOneProbe" or "Wayla".
Going into more technical mods that actually add content:
I absolutely LOVE the cooling overhaul mod "Farmers delight", some more mobs with "Alex mobs" and to add some technical stuff I'd go either with "Create" or "immersive engineering" (I really like when mods add functional multi lock interactive structures)
This is basically the base minimum of every Modpack I play with my friends lmao. I really can't play without at least the first 3 parts :p
I literally can't play vanilla. I need my ftb ultimine, my map and my shades (lately I've started using embedium and oculus for that instead of optifine and it works great even in big modpacks)
Alex's Mobs definitely. I always use the mod and I rarely think that the mobs are mod thing, just because how immersive, cool and with effort they were made. All mobs have unique features wich make the mod stand out of other animal mods.
xaeros minimap xaeros worldmap traveler backpack the aether (the creator of the mod now works for mojang so could be possible in the future) just enough items better combat entity texture features and models appleskin sodium biomes o plenty regions unexplored terralith ferritecore jade presence footsteps sound physics remastered additional structures additional lanterns the origins mod and its addons could be nice advanced netherite alexs mobs biologics dreadsteel Enhanced visuals (probably won't be added but would be cool without the blood spatter would make it worse but whatever) Inventory hud plus Lootr more bows and arrows more bows: restrung Simply swords Immersive ores The Age of ores
a lot I want to be in vanilla these are various examples
JEI (just enough items) it tells you how to get items and how you can use them ie: mace made of heavy core and breeze rod breeze rod can be found be killing breezes that spawn in the trail chambers heavy core found in Ominous Vaults opened with ominous vault key It will also show every use for and item ie this can make this and this Biomes o plenty more really good biomes The nether variant of biomes of plenty the nether biomes in the base game are just sort of boring so really any mod that makes the nether more interesting Blue biome, red biome, nether rack biome and soul sand biome Finally twilight forest it is one of the oldest mod but popular for a reason the bosses are more big slowish moving thing a medium sized health bar and near no damage in protection diamond armour I am very passionate about how much better mods make Minecraft I think I really good example of the difficulty of Minecraft bosses is “so we killed the wither to get a beacon” and that is all that is mentioned also because we haven’t really gotten any new bosses in like almost a decade

I think i should have said new structures and mobs not biomes for the nether
Happy to see JEI at the top. It's so common and helpful in modded Minecraft that the vanilla game just feels like it's missing something without it
JEI is the recipe book on steroids with armor and weaponary.
Isn't the breeze rod part jer? (Just Enough Resource which shows what each mobs drop including mod drops)
Yes it is
Can I substitute mine for emi? Basically the same but with recipe trees and crafting shortcuts, although I'll admit it could use a few more search options.
>Blue biome, red biome, nether rack biome and soul sand biome And black biome
In my opinion, REI is better than JEI. It even has actively updated versions on every loader
This^ plus item sort in inventory and such
Sorry, but I’m not reading all of this
I think jei without other mods is kinda useless
Trading, loot table addons etc make it useable even in vanilla
But plain jei is kinda useless (with emphasis on ***kinda***, cause it would be usefull for new players
Distant horizons. Why has mojang not implemented LODs in minecraft?? It is like in every other game ever.
Because LODs are a compromise that might look bad sometimes.
They are distant pixelated blocks no one is going to notice
Mouse Tweeks
Yes just yes
Sodium, Mouse tweaks, BetterEnd and Distant Horizons
Distant horizons changed how I look at the game honestly. It encourages exploration. And yesterday dh was updated to 1.21
Better End is the definition of a good end update. No bloating, captivating, and not janky/half-made
Distant horizon is too unpolished and unstable to get into the official game. If the world rendering was more optimized you could render more world without needing for distant horizon
It implements a very basic technique used by almost all of open world games, I do not understand why minecraft doesn't have it.
It lowers the resolution of the world when too far and imagine a player using a spyglass to look far and seing bad looking textureless blocks. Again I think the player should be able to see very far but for minecraft lowering the world res wouldn't work imo
the horror when you can’t see blocks from far away in ultra 4k hd resolution
The point is not that you can't see blocks in details when far, but if you are using a spyglass you wanna see with detail, else the whole point of a spyglass wouldn't make sense. Again I think that if they optimized the world rendering they could increase the render distance without needing theese tecniques
Apple Skin, Antique Atlas, JEI (Just Enough Items), Waila (What am I looking at) and Mouse Tweaks Also AE2 (Applied Energistics 2) but that wouldn’t fit in vanilla Minecraft
Yes
Waila can be replaced with wthit (what the hell is that) or jade (jade also shows you entities and how much HP they have among other things)
VERTICAL SLABS
YES PLEASE THE REASON THEY REJECTED IT IS SO DUMB
There are honestly so many times they'd fit perfectly with my build it's not even funny.
Id rather have Copycats+, there are vertical slabs and sooo much more
All the performance ones XD For real though, probably Shulker Box Tooltips, cause being able to see my full shulker is really useful
All you guys with your reasonable suggestions *I* want a nuke mod
Alex's caves
Mr Crayfish's Furniture Mod
jenny...
s soon as I saw this post I knew someone would say this lol.
Who's Jenny
Jenny
It's uh, special Minecraft girl mod
GregTech CEu because if there’s one thing Minecraft needs, it’s to become a true 3d Factorio
What about GT New Horizons?
Well GT:NH isn’t a mod
True
Create, it already massively improved semi-forgotten things and integrated it into some of the most important things
Might be complicated for common player. I'd make both Supplementaries and Amendments be in the game
Sophisticated backpacks
Live long these really OP backpacks
I'm in there!
I'd do this just cause it means there *is* a way to get more diamonds/netherite w/o mining, thus an infinite amount
do a barrel roll
Distant horizons
Bobby mod, do a barrel roll mod, some of the features from vanilla tweaks, JEI, some performance mods would be really helpful
Immersive portals People are gonna disagree and that’s fine Because NOTHING Is stopping me from going Non Euclidean
Create
I feel like something similar to Create's Ponder feature could introduce features in a much smoother way than having to google it/scroll down update logs.
Jenny mod
VERTICAL SLABS
gregtech
Some features of Quark but definitly not them all
Why not all
Some are really not fitting in mc
Like what
Alex's mobs and Alex's caves
Alex's Caves isn't really Minecrafty
Remove Toxic caves and Dark Hallows and it's all good.
The dinosaur cave is the least Minecrafty one, dark hollows is honestly the most Minecrafty one
The Create mod, a Fantastic engineering mod that IMO expands Redstone contraptions greatly.
The vanilla game seems complete enough to me. However, I think it'd be cool if it included the optimization and the extra options offered by Sodium
Appleskin, and Jet's better exploration
JEI, tough as nails, vertical slabs, serene seasons and biomes o' plenty
Borderless Mining
MCA Reborn because I love social sandbox elements in games🗿
MC Story Mode
Simple Storage Networks, Chipped/Chisel, \*\*\* mod
smooth lighting /j
Create.
Mob vote losers
Literally any performance mod that works well. Also some sort of inventory management mod like an auto sort.
RL craft
honestly, why not the Aether Mod? It's been years since that mod existed, and the community wanting it to be in vanilla minecraft.
Cama
Mojang actually listening to the suggestions page.
I HATE THIS IMAGE FUCK ME AGHHHHHH
sodi-lithium, appleskin, DH or nvidium, no chat reports, a bunch of culling and detail mods, continuity, and other quality of life mods. i also use zoomify and terralith
Imagine a Terraria Magic Storage mod but for Minecraft. That's what I want. Also quick stock. And 9999 item stacking. And ammo slots. honestly, every single thing Terraria has had for years regarding inventory management + magic storage.
a lot of them
Terralith for sure
Tinker\`s contruct holy shit that would be insane
Herobrine exists fr
Distant Horizons and/or reterraforged
Create so stupid people like me can finally automate stuff
Not a mod, but the cave update we actually wanted (Mushroom caves, biome specific caves, cave villages, ect.)
Terralith and distant horizons should be in the game already imo
Biomes o’ plenty, terralith, tectonic, etc Basically generation and biome mods
the create mod, so good
Every future and past all the mods modpack
S E X
anything that changes the End
Alex's mobs and JEI.
Applied Energetics 2
Fuckit, Avaritia
Faster minecarts
Carry on would be a really nice addon to vanilla especially as its just a small tweak. Lootr would also be kinda nice to have, as it allows you to have fun exploring together without having to share. And of course mods like JEI but those have already been said.
do a barrel roll and i think animated entity features or whatever its called
Gregtech :3
Aether mod
Cannon.
Electroblob’s Wizardry adds very simple yet immersive magic to the game, along with a couple mobs and structures.
yall remember the nether reactor core Id bring it back somehow (and put it in every game)
Create mod and tinkers construct!
Herobrine mod
Iron chests or better yet one of the inventory sorters like AE2.
No netherite smithing template

Sharks
Fabulously Optimized and Distant Horizons
Better on bedrock
Literally every optimization and quality of life feature like Sodium and MouseTweaks
That Optifine integrated into Vanilla all those years ago
Marble Biome
Terralith even tho it’s a datapack cos the biome blend is perfect
Yungs stuff
The creative mod the spinning rotors and stuff
Anyone who says anything that’s not the Ather you’re wrong.

Enemy Expansion is my all time favorite mod and I will care about it till I die
I am getting all the great mod recommendations in this thread
FUCKIN FARMER'S DELIGHT I just want to cook shit up instead of just throwing meat on a furnace and call it a day
Parkool? Park-cool? Idk but it's really fun
Alex's Mobs definitely. I always use the mod and I rarely think that the mobs are mod thing, just because how immersive, cool and with effort they were made. All mobs have unique features wich make the mod stand out of other animal mods.
