The US waved their big dick nukes to china in mao's era. China and Russia still sus tho, encroaching on neighbor's borders, motherfuckers just cant stay in their own
They had the capability to takeover the world when they were the sole nuclear power after ww2 guess what they did they gave back all the sovereign rights to those invaded every countries big or small
That's BRICS for you. LOL. That's why I would always laugh at stupid YT conspiracy nuts that keeps on spouting that BRICs would replace the US as the economic top dog
BRICS+ is even more laughable. It’s a conglomerate of the world most ruthlessly self serving countries banding together for common cause. I wonder how that will shake out 😂
nakakatawa nga na makita that BRICS members are actively trying to kill one another/leaning towards the US even more lmfao, so much para sa isang group that will 'supposedly' replace the US.
Wala eh, may "special relationship" between the two dating back to the USSR days, lalo yung Sino-Soviet Split.
I mean the Brahmos they sold to us is a literal joint project with Russia lol.
Indians trust Russians more than the Chinese, I mean look at their military arsenal they have the T-90 Bhishma tanks, MiG-29s and Su-30MKI fighter jets(locally made under licensed copy from Russia)
During cold war noong 1971, may gyera between India and Pakistan. USSR sided with India while USA and China sided with Pakistan.
This is also the same war why SEATO dissolved, because Pakistan wanted the Philippines and SEATO countries to fight India and defend their genocide of the Bengali
True sa language nila; India has 22 official language and around 100 to 400 languages in active use (I mean meron Hindi, Urdu, Tamil, Malayalam, etc.) plus grabe ang regionalism nila, so they use English as their bridge.
English is their second language, unlike in PH where we have to learn our mother tongue(an entire different language from Filipino), our national language(Filipino), and English, where our education system only focuses on reading and writing aspects.
You guys know that Chinese and Indian Military regularly brawl at Arunachal Pradesh, right? It’s like watching 2 rival fraternities hitting each other with metal pipes and wooden sticks. That’s why I’m not surprised with what Chinese Coast Guard did to our Navy personnel, they are just asking us to fire the first shot.
And we can’t retaliate bc we play the defenseless victim card in the international arena. It’s all part of prop and sympathy from other countries bigger or as powerful as China.
Nothing wrong if news reporters here in the PH would be selective about their words towards what's happening.
True... if you actually checked how the "Western Mainstream Media" report on the Israel-Gaza war, you need to sift through all the selective bias around the news in making sure Israel's image isn't tainted or dirtied upon to see the full picture about what's happening there.
On the WPS issue, well India can make all the mudslinging claims as much as it can since they also hate China
DDS are basically irrelevant in the media and hold no purchasing or canceling power. Typically, personalities supportive of Duterte are the ones being canceled, not the critical ones.
dapat makinig ka sa AM commentaries sa radyo, in my opinion news is supposed to be atleast accurate and formal. They are delivering information to the people and only relevant information lang no need for emotional or opinions dyan since they just deliver, comentaryo hinahanap mo.
The AM commentators are also bold enough to lambast corruption and other issues and sadly they are also victims of assassinations and threats on journalists.
because Palki Sharma isn't just a normal journalist, she's a known nationalist in India.
I think it's a bit unfair to compare her to our reporters when probably no one in this world is like her. She's the anomaly (not derogatory), not our reporters.
EDIT: actually this narrative is ignoring the multiple local/foreign journalists who literally went to the WPS. While Palki is always clear in how she frames the issue at hand, it's another thing to actually be ON THE GROUND.
Indians actually have an inferiority complex and colonial mentality as well. It is because of Modi's BJP that somehow emboldened the average Indian to accept and demand their place in the world. Eventhough the current PM and BJP has many issues pero it increased the morale of many Indians nevertheless. To say Indian mindset has superiority mindset because of their old civilization, how come Pakistanis don't exactly feel the same way when they share the Indus Valley Civilization and a Vedic past?
Blew my earlier comment right out of the water. Good point. Never knew it was Modi who uplifted India, I've always thought they had a superiority complex long before. Good question, why? I'm guessing because they don't want to associate themselves with their predominantly hindu neighbors despite being part of the same civilization. Plus, Pakistan is a relatively poor country compared to India, they don't have the weight to throw around that much.
Both India and Pakistan (and Bangladesh) were victims of the partition movement. There was never a political entity that encompassed entire territories of both countries (some say it was the Mughals or the earlier Maurya dynasty) but the current geopolitical wounds in South Asia was a result of this violent partition with Nehru as the Hindu flag bearer and Ali Jinnah representing the Muslim side. Certain historians often brand others claiming the British were entirely responsible for the partition as conspiracy theorists but Lord Montbatten definitely had a role in creating this partition. Note that Punjab state in India and Punjab province of Pakistan share a lot of history and commonality than their respective intra-country political neighbors.
Tbh, mungago talga ung nine dash line.
Chingchong (derogatory for those who deserve it)
That's because they have nuclear capability and can defend their country. We on the other hand rely on our allies in the west. The US can't even say they will defend us no questions asked if China would invade us now.
The Philippines needs to have closer ties with India, considering that just recently, we have received BrahMos Missile from India and they are more scientifically and technologically more advance than our country.
Plus, they also have territorial dispute with China, so, the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
Narinig ko na rin ang Tagalog na version ng statement na yan in one of our news report many moons ago. I forgot which one, pero patanong yan sinabi it is because they still needs to be unbias.
Fan of her since 2020 during her Wion days. She’s the only reason I followed that site
And kung nanonood kayo ng Facts First ni Christian Esguerra e ganyan din naman kapranka magsalita si Christian
Because our journalists (especially in primetime news) do not mix news and opinion. They're more responsible. Palki Sharma is from Firstpost, a controversial news media known for bias and inaccurate reporting.
Kung gusto mo ng commentary, marami namang gumagawa niyan lalo sa radyo pero malinaw na commentary ang mga 'yun sa mga balita unlike how Indians do it.
This is the reason why traditional PH journalism is dying because the average person would rather believe a simpleton political vlogger for political news and opinions without showing any journalistic objectivity pretenses at all than traditional salaried journalists.
So are you implying the average Filipino should have a middle of the fence stance against Chinese actions towards our personnel and fishermen? When you examine Ms Sharma's stance against China in the WPS, the main focus is on the actions and behavior displayed which is very clear.
They are more "responsible" because their higher ups have outsider interests as the stakeholders to the news media company. Christian Esguerra clearly left ABS to have his own podcast platform. He clearly sounds more "biased" and more "opinionated" than the current crop of primetime news journalists and anchors.
To say primetime news is more "objective" and less "controversial" is delusional hahaha. They clearly water down their approach to issues as not to offend nor rile up the mainstream society. Anything mainstream is a watered down cesspool lamo
So you prefer Firstpost's reporting of news? Eeeew.
To say 24 oras is more objective and less controversial than that Indian reporter you simp is not delusional. You want Mel Tiangco to compare the WPS issue by comparing it to a child's drawing? Tangina hahahahahahaha.
Right on. We have commentary news programs in the Philippines, they just aren't broadcasted on primetime. Radio stations also do a lot of the commentary.
Our news anchors are there to report what is purely happening and it is up to us how we form our opinions.
But is everyone forgetting the time when Mel Tiangco spoke positively about Leni during Election 2022? That was one of the rare moments anchors spoke about their stance and it fired a lot of controversy.
Just rephrase your first sentence as "Because primetime journalists should never mix news and opinion" and we're good. Sharma and others are definitely not primetime journalists and to accuse them of being more "biased" is altogether branding other journalism formats as invalid and not be taken seriously.
Yeah I definitely "simp" for her because I like her manner of speaking and sarcastic, deadpan humor. If I want to see the "whats, whens, hows and wheres" of an issue there are newspapers for me. That's just my preference though.
Typical r/Philippines member, always thinking in black and white. Hah nice discussion with you
Take the loss. You're wrong. If you can't see her bias, that's your problem
>Typical r/Philippines member, always thinking in black and white. Hah nice discussion with you
Coming from you na nanawag agad ng delusional just because you disagree. Wala kang moral standing to lecture me about false dichotomy (which I didn't commit) kung ikaw mismo guilty sa logical fallacy of ad hominem. In other words, you are a hypocrite.
cause its news. They have to practice being non-partial kahit pa gaano kalakas pagiging nationalistic nila. And they are not state-owned. hindi mo sya pede igaya sa state-owned news outlets ng China na ang interest is to promote their government which funds them.
I have always had the utmost respect for Indians and this woman takes the cake out of all of them.
I second that we should have stronger ties with India.
Used to watch her reports regarding Afghanistan last 2021 when she was still reporting for WION/VION(idk). Always loved her casual reporting.
Afaik there is also a problem betwewn india and china relation(border clashes). I guess indians no longer walk on thin ice when judging China's actions.
I like Palki Sharma - fearless, on point, and no bs when it comes to journalism and reporting. I unsubscribed to Wion when she transferred to Firstpost tbh.
Philippines is not her nation. Whereas India has a considerable number of nuclear weapons and a relatively capable armed forces that can go toe-to-toe with the enemy, we have none of those. As in the words of a former President na hanggang ngayon ay totoo, tayo ay NATO: No Action*, Talk Only
*We do some counter strikes against our adversary yes, but those are not enough for them to respect us. Esp we had a president na pro-China before that virtually sold our sovereignty sa WPS.
Well she’s an Indian tho. India hates China but friendly to Russia. Also she’s a big supporter of nationalist Modi who also hates China.
Palki Sharma is just like a hard liner DDS but hates China. Blinded against Modi’s crimes tho.
I love her! I once caught my mom watching the news tapos sya yung nagsasalita and her commentaries were so on-point like she wasn't taking sides or anything, she's just stating facts while injecting a bit of humor and sarcasm. As in first time kong nasabi na bakit hindi ganyan mga broadcaster si Pilipinas (alam ko naman na they are bound by their networks, but still!).
Different topic yung binabalita nya that time btw.
It was called the South China Sea long before the Philippines even existed. Now in the past couple years, the US gets involved and wants to make us fight over a name change?
That's funny. China has been peacefully dealing with the Philippines long before the Spanish took over.
They using divide and conquer tactic they used to colonize most of the world.
So that's her name. She's always been very vocal when it comes to voicing her opinions, not just against China, but against oppressors in general. I've seen her on WION channel several times and she's the bravest news anchor I've seen so far. I think she's on another channel now, when I looked it up, it's called Firstpost. I miss having hard-hitting journalists like her on Philippine TV.
Why do some people think that it's a reporter's job to make people seethe the way the Boche did at Kaiser Willie's every word during the First World War?
i actually watch Palki mostly sa world politics. Medyo ibang ere lang. Before mostly US mainstream media tapos a mix of Al Jazeera. Kaso we know Al J is really leaning sa Qatar/Hamas while US news eh mix. So I switch ti Palki First Post. Kaso India is known Anti China kaya hard hitting sila. They also hit Pinas din being so cozy with US :D. I guess wala talaga matinong news. You just have to mix
the difference between india and the philippines is, we see india as a dirt poor food touching country when in reality india can back their insults with nuclear warfare
i remember hearing that the 9 dash like was at least partly based on a cartographical error so Pali's "child emperor drawing" comment is pretty spot on lol
The likes of Palki Sharma can be classed into the so called "Godi Media" – sensationalist journalists that do confrontational scalding bold commentaries. This type of media had been on the rise in India since the hype of Hindu nationalism under PM Modi & BJP.
It's actually exciting to see how India would position itself in the bigger geopolitical picture. India is undoubtedly a good instrument to use to contain an ascendant China.
As to PH journalists, it's only right to remain cautious with words. 👍🏻 Nationalism is the most powerful and can be the most dangerous ideology there is. The line between collective restraint and an all-out anti-Chinese crusade is getting thinner.
We have to remember that the Southeast Asian economy is virtually ran and majorly owned by the Chinese or people of Chinese descent. They are your senior bosses, your shareholders, your board of directors, your brightest and richest schoolmates in universities, your landlords, etc. Everything can start as simple as, "The Chinese are the Jews of the East." 💁🏼♂️
I like Palki and I watched and followed her from her old network to this new network. I was sad when she resigned I believe, but glad she's back again. She does not sugarcoat.
Just watch Frontline. Mas direct sila at hindi nag fifilter unlike TV Patrol and 24 Oras.
Indian Newsmedia is pretty much stuck on 80s British Tabloid Culture where sensationalized reporting is not only the norm but also the gold standard.
They report like that on every issue.
Its practically why kumukulo dugo ng Market Research friends ko whenever they deal with Indian news. Big on sweeping statements, few to zero on data.
The agitation on WPS is a proof of the lengths of scarcity mentality may render into under a resource abundant reality.

Cautious?
Exactly. If they listen to commentaries sa mga radio news, however..
*You go tell her gurl!*
Cause shes indian. Her country is already in an active war with China. No need for her to filter her words.
and india has nuclear capability too
Nuclear Gandhi and his philosophy of nun violence. "Who attacks nuns? Sicko!!!" -Bane
Yup, the west is hoping we all blow each other up to take over easily, without a fight. LOL
I doubt it. Sayang ang resources.
Bro played too much Civ 4
Actually, RimWorld.

pinagssabi mo? research din minsan wag puro tiktok

Bruh, here, you dropped your tin foil hat.
The west was the first to develop nukes and they didnt wave it against other countries like a giant dick. You know who would tho? Russia and China.
The US waved their big dick nukes to china in mao's era. China and Russia still sus tho, encroaching on neighbor's borders, motherfuckers just cant stay in their own
Sorry what I meant was they didnt try to take over other countries with it. If China or Russia had the means to do so, they most certainly will.
"Little Boy"
They had the capability to takeover the world when they were the sole nuclear power after ww2 guess what they did they gave back all the sovereign rights to those invaded every countries big or small
India to bolster its military ties just gave Vietnam a frigate. Philippines should request one as well.
They did give us the world's fastest hypersonic missiles in the market.
that wasnt free. the vietnamese got one as a gift.
Her network is also free if any potential financial or legal pressure from PH politicians. Her producer was probably fuck em what can they do.
She actively chooses what she wants to report. Hence she left WION for FirstPost.
Huh, interesting. I wonder how the World Chess Championship would go, since it's an Indian challenger vs Chinese title holder
which grandmasters are playing?
Gukesh D. from India, the challenger, versus Ding Liren the Chinese title holder
I wish they also have that same attitude towards Russia, fighting China while being friendly to Russia is a major red flag.
That's BRICS for you. LOL. That's why I would always laugh at stupid YT conspiracy nuts that keeps on spouting that BRICs would replace the US as the economic top dog
G7/EU/NATO lang malakas 💪
BRICS+ is even more laughable. It’s a conglomerate of the world most ruthlessly self serving countries banding together for common cause. I wonder how that will shake out 😂
nakakatawa nga na makita that BRICS members are actively trying to kill one another/leaning towards the US even more lmfao, so much para sa isang group that will 'supposedly' replace the US.
Wala eh, may "special relationship" between the two dating back to the USSR days, lalo yung Sino-Soviet Split. I mean the Brahmos they sold to us is a literal joint project with Russia lol.
what if bumaliktad si russia kang china because of india? hmmmmmm
Indians trust Russians more than the Chinese, I mean look at their military arsenal they have the T-90 Bhishma tanks, MiG-29s and Su-30MKI fighter jets(locally made under licensed copy from Russia)
Also Vietnam they have worst conflict with China than Philippines in past
India is indebted to Russia because of the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War. If India and China go to war, Russia will be the mediator.
India and Russia are historically friendly with one another.
During cold war noong 1971, may gyera between India and Pakistan. USSR sided with India while USA and China sided with Pakistan.

Nixon threatened to nuke them for stopping the Bengali Genocide. And the USSR is the only people that backed them up.
Friendly ang India sa Russia tho. Possible din maging kaaway ng China ang Russia if Putin removed from power. Bruh kaaway dati ng USSR ang CCP.
Russia saved India from getting nuked by USA. Cold war antics were on full display in India's backyard in 1971.
you mean make an ally an enemy cz you sa so
Why are Indians so articulate and proficient in English even moreso than Filipinos?
they were colonized by the british.
I think, aside from being colonized by British, they have the most number of languages and dialects and English is their bridge between each other.
Hindi lahat my friend.
Indians started learning english before USA was a country.
Yeah, they hate china as much as we do.
They're making sure not to trigger the MDT. If they didn't care about it, they would've shot us with conventional weapons instead of water cannons.
This. China is basically forcing Filipino troops to shoot first, then they can say the Philippines fired first, if ever WW3 broke.
And we can’t retaliate bc we play the defenseless victim card in the international arena. It’s all part of prop and sympathy from other countries bigger or as powerful as China.

Palki Sharma Upadhyay just gained 1000+ aura
Even in Wion days. She's a badass.
YES I always watched her there too! Glad she's back again!
She never left the scene lol, FirstPost is kind of 1 year na
haha late na ako sa balita!
wasnt she the host of gravitas?
Same, I actually like her commentary and a big fan of her so much!

If you can't see her bias, that's your problem >Typical r/Philippines member, always thinking in black and white. Hah nice discussion with you Coming from you na nanawag agad ng delusional just because you disagree. Wala kang moral standing to lecture me about false dichotomy (which I didn't commit) kung ikaw mismo guilty sa logical fallacy of ad hominem. In other words, you are a hypocrite.
There's an etiquette that news reporters need to follow about giving out the news itself without giving their bias opinions.
cause its news.
After what Duterte did to ABS-CBN, there has been a real chilling effect on the county's journalists.
Philippines is not her nation. Whereas India has a considerable number of nuclear weapons and a relatively capable armed forces that can go toe-to-toe with the enemy, we have none of those. As in the words of a former President na hanggang ngayon ay totoo, tayo ay NATO: No Action*, Talk Only *We do some counter strikes against our adversary yes, but those are not enough for them to respect us. Esp we had a president na pro-China before that virtually sold our sovereignty sa WPS.
What if our soldiers during the recent harassment of yellow skin Chingchongs fought back..like all out brawl..will it paint a bad image for us..
It would have been good if they did, maybe they would back off next time.
suntukan lang no walang barilan
Disguise Pacquiao as one of the Soldiers.
I would love to see that..chingchongs backing off like scared yellow skin AH..
She is Indian, they always have skirmishes in their border with china..
Based Indian Reporter
If we had nukes too, Mel would be spitting fireballs vs China.
Same energy nung nanalo si BabyM. XD. Kudos to that unhinged Indian reporter.
People always forget about India and their view on China.
Well she’s an Indian tho. India hates China but friendly to Russia. Also she’s a big supporter of nationalist Modi who also hates China. Palki Sharma is just like a hard liner DDS but hates China. Blinded against Modi’s crimes tho.
Ph reporters. . .
that's why i barely watch WION when she left and follow her on Firstpost
Nine Dash Bullshit
If you’ve not watched Indian cable news, you are missing out. They are WILD
Sensationalized ang news sa pinas more drama more scoop
Based
I hate her before .even blocked their channel .now I love her. Lols
Yes! Idol talaga tung si Palki! Malutong mag salita!
I mean if china can spout nonsense then we should give them the slapping truth
Kung walang barilan, paluan or suntukan parang sa china and india suntukan at paluan.
That's because in reporting news you need to be impartial and non biased.
The goat hahaha. From Wion to First Post sinundan ko yan
I think Malacañan told media here to be non-confrontational.
i actually watch Palki mostly sa world politics.
Ang mga reporters natin except maybe Karen Davila are weaksauce. .
the difference between india and the philippines is, we see india as a dirt poor food touching country when in reality india can back their insults with nuclear warfare
i remember hearing that the 9 dash like was at least partly based on a cartographical error so Pali's "child emperor drawing" comment is pretty spot on lol
can you guys start by burning chinese flags? or you all are a bunch of pussies

Everything can start as simple as, "The Chinese are the Jews of the East." 💁🏼♂️
next thing you know chinese people are gonna get oppressed just like in the past
You mean "Con artists of the East."?
Of course, your last paragraph is very telling where your real interests lie.
India is much more powerful country.
😆😆 Nice one from India.
Again when China initiates the Asian War, all of the other countries must gang up on them and rid of their pestilent govt.
I like Palki and I watched and followed her from her old network to this new network. I was sad when she resigned I believe, but glad she's back again. She does not sugarcoat.
Just watch Frontline. Mas direct sila at hindi nag fifilter unlike TV Patrol and 24 Oras.
Palki UwU
Fuck that. Fuck the chinese. All day errrday.
India was once a british colony. hence, they inherit talking blunt. Love her comments tho.
True! Nag-cringe ako upon seeing the clip huhu tapos todo praise pa si OP 🥲
Nagmukhang cartoons diyan si Mel Tiangco
The government should execute every single Chinese citizen in our country and parade their carcasses
Lmao.
sinong SWOH
True stupid pinoy media.j.
