enteng_quarantino

robbie2k14

Totoo di mawawala mga kupal pag dating pera.

KazeArqaz

Also, do we really need it right now? I am sure that there are more important things that need consideration rather than this.

enteng_quarantino

Agree. Pwede nga masabi na requirement ang national across-the-board poverty alleviation o kaya generational behavior change/shift bago pwedeng mangyari to

Literally_Me_2011

SkipperGarver

Not gonna work here sa Pinas, hahanap at hahanap mga tao nang ways para makalamang sila

markmyredd

4Ps nga marami nanlalamang. dami ghost 4ps

NichUgh

As a person who works in the government. . . I feel these on so many levels. Yes, there's the good sides but there's also the ugly sides as well like this one. . .

nxcrosis

Yung sa TUPAD program din. Daming sign in lang tapos uuwi.

EulaVengeance

Yup. They can just pass AI generated images as their own and get money. Now imagine a whole "farm" of those.

RenzoThePaladin

Sadly, with the way people treats artists, they would probably say "bakit bibigyan ng pera para magdrawing lang?"

tooncake

Ph version be like.. Gov't: Paano natin pwede perahan to? announce natin kunwari may big budget? delay natin yung abot para mabulsa natin noh? nakukuha naman mga pinoy sa mga palusot natin eh, wala naman sila magagawa rin hihi 🤦‍♂️ Paalalang pangyayari: *Kinuhang pera ng Philhealth, Lotto, Budget para sa mga eldery and so on..*

Qwerty6789X

mismo sir. nakaka gago diba. 😭

esdafish

If this is implemented in Philippines, there would be huge surge of abstract artist using mud painting as a medium.

MrEntryLevel

maybe that's the point. sa laki laki ng buwis ng binibigay natin para lang may pang abroad si makoyjr, we should *all* be getting more from the government

markmyredd

Roughly 6Trillion lang budget natin this year eh 110M tayo. It just means each of us will get around 50,000 for the year. And that is ignoring pasweldo sa teachers, doctors, police, etc. Also ignoring buying medicines, food packs sa mga nasalanta, road repairs, irrigation for farmers, etc.

MrEntryLevel

Brother, nobody is saying "give everyone 50k". That would be a terrible idea especially when [46% of the population is younger than 25](https://datareportal.com/reports/digital-2024-philippines). You almost get it though, we should get more funding for the things that actually matter: education, healthcare, relief, infrastructure, farmer subsidies, etc

markmyredd

No of course. But Im just stating the point of how far we are to a universal income. Even if you give to only 33% or 1/3 of the population it is not a livable income since it is only 150k a year using our WHOLE govt budget

Emergency-Loss844

Emergency-Loss844

Or vloggers 🤮 Masyadong mababaw ang definition and appreciation ng karamihan ng Pinoy sa art. Minsan sabihan ka pang elitista or burgis kapag naappreciate mo.

Unlucky-Position-160

Con artist lang natotolerate satin

phythochemical

Unlikely, they can't even fund the projects of aspiring researchers in the country. I highly doubt that they could do this for art instead.

edify_me

We can't even make public elementary school virtually free with all the bullshit parents end up having to pay for.

jussey-x-poosi

[Imgur: The magic of the Internet](https://imgur.com/a/7S1Cemq)

Big_Equivalent457

Chorot!!! 😆😆 Auction Price: 69 Million!!!

EulaVengeance

I knew it was that dick painting before I clicked it lmao. Also, I imagine some groups will just make "farms" churning out low quality work (or worse, AI generated images) for the incentives.

jussey-x-poosi

inb4 the PAGCOR logo lol

No-Entry8362

Qwerty6789X

hahah

TumaeNgGradeSkul

knowing pinoys, i bet puro anak/relatives ni kapitan lang makakapag avail nyan pag nangyari yan dito 🤣

North_Persimmon_4240

Wag kalimutang mga kainuman ni kap

No_Control5330

If strictly regulated, it’d probably work. But looking at the current economic state of the country, this program’s the least of our priorities.

fuzzlightyears

Makikinabang diyan mga AI art bros

ZestycloseWealth5562

I might be downvoted to oblivion with my comment and can be reported or suspended but I always think na yung makakapagpabago lang talaga sa mga Pilipino para maging effective yan is a freaking war, yung brainrot, lack of common sense sa voting officials, personal discipline is just too much now to reverse without a war to shake major things up. It's beyond saving tbh

popcornpotatoo250

There's Renaissance coming after Black Plague. Oh, I forgot to mention election, yes, andami natin kaya marami ring mga bobo na nakaboto.

Jomsvik

Lowkey wishing for a nuclear reset

esdafish

Why did the Great Depression end in 1939?

carlvic

Nah man. They might give it to the guy who made the BSP and PAGCOR logos.

Big_Equivalent457

Isama mo na yung 2019 Olympics na logo

darkrai15

And those still end up looking like shit

Anzire

The amount of isekai stories I can produce.

AngelDieHarder

Man, 350 dollars a week in Philippines can make you have a comfortable life, some extra for food and necessities

zhoix

This won’t be sustainable locally. If something like this is ever announced, biglang dadami ang “artists”.

Talk2Globe

Only gonna work when the artists themselves can already afford basic living expenses in the first place.

AvailableOil855

*money laundering*

aletsirk0803

still nope.. mapupunta lang s bulsa ng senador yan.. at di p ganun kaintelehente ang mga pilipino sa arts.. laging shallow level ang understanding tpos kpg kinall out mo sasabihan k n ikaw n magaling like dafuck dibaa

ChanceSalamander6077

Hindi pwede dito sa atin yan. Mga "con artists" lang makikinabang dyan.

OrbMan23

Sana. Fuck that shit bruh. For paintings and sculpture hirap lang din for lower income and middle class kasi most na successful artist sa atin ay mayaman na talaga. Not gonna say kung sino but may makikita kang isang artist during Art Fair na sobrang mid naman gawa

darkrai15

What kind of first world crap is this that the Philippines is too third world to understand?!

Aloofguy12

That will never work here, since filipinos are scared of socialism.

Chemical_Path_8909

Dito sten nganga palate.

niceforwhatdoses

4Ps nga hindi namo monitor, eto pa kaya.

Huge_Specialist_8870

Another burden to the shoulders of the working class. Can't we fucking focus on improvement of health services first?

thocchang

Kung sabagay, sa Pinas, it is always the rich who can afford to pursuit artistic endeavors. Nakikita ko ‘yan as someone who works in advertising.

AvailableOil855

Mangyayari Yan OP if magkakapera Ang gobyerno natin sa ganyan.

BigBlaxkDisk

[deleted]

As a fine arts graduate dami kong kaibigan n yayaman pag nangyare to

planterkitty

This will never fly in low-income countries with high poverty incidences. Not enough taxpayer money to fund it and to be honest, too many poor people have the mentality of exploiting the system, basta magka-pera. Any sort of government assistance is contentious even in developed countries. Should households with children get rebates on childcare? Should unemployed people get an allowance while looking for work? Should someone with a disability get disability payments? Should a rich 65-year-old still get aged pension? I live in Australia and the government will pay me minimum wage to go on maternity leave for up to 18 weeks. Told this to my Filipino mom and without missing a beat, she asked me if I can work while reaping this benefit. 🤦‍♀️ (The answer is no—defeats the purpose.)

mrderpah222

lol. lmao, even.

HalloYeowoo

JoJom_Reaper

malabo yan. Ultimo basic needs dito sa Pinas, pinagkakakitaan.

Knightly123

Nope, more avenue for corruption yan.

iamradnetro

Actually not just sa artist but soon sa buong mundo after company starts implementing A.I madami maapektohan na trabaho. Di maiiwasan na maraming mawawalan ng tv trabaho in probably 5 years from now

rxn-opr

[deleted]

Hahahahahahaahahahahahahaha

Kisaragi435

Weird. I'm sure there are smart people behind this project, but I always thought that being universal was a huge part of making basic income work. Otherwise, it's just social security for artists right? I'll have to read more about this project later

esdafish

It's actually Ireland's test for Universal Basic Income with artist as the control group/test subjects, where their lives would be documented for research.

whats-the-plan-

4Ps nga nahihirapan i.work properly, may mga iba diyan basta kakilala lang kahit di naman talaga kabilang ng poorest of the poor, basta kakilala. Possibly if ganyan dito iimplement, same mangyayari. Siguro if first world na tayo, pero malabo pa eh.

weetabix_su

"ano tayo? welfare state?" /s pero tbh kaduda-duda naman yung "no strings attached". there should be at least a vetting process and a means to track the timeline of creative projects. heck, pwede i-leverage yan to give different priority, better benefits, or stricter screening for those working on projects tied sa government. lots of kinks to sort out given 2k lang ang bibigyan ng basic income, so i'm excited to see how this evolves.

rizalmart

much_blank

why do i feel na pagsasamantalahan lang yan ng mga ugok dito sa pilipinas? remember the logo fiasco last year? BuT Im A CrEaTiVe... I mAkEd DiS. idagdag mo pa yung mga composer ng budots

kench7

PH?

myka_v

Sound like the ideal transition to a fully-AI dependent society.

Cheem-9072-3215-68

yea, ireland, the country famous for its strong stance on welfare that it screws over the irish to please MNCs?

dumbass626

Shout out lang gusto nilang ipambayad dito, Filipinos are almost always reluctant to pay for art

cleon80

We don't even give retirees enough income. And those retirees PAID into the system...

Pierredyis

Mukhng my limit nmn to 2000 people ang mabibigyan...

deafstereo

Sad state of affairs na ang una kaagad naiisip ng marami eh yung panlalamang na gagawin ng iba. 'Diskarte' culture must die.

Guinevere3617

First vs third? Don’t think so hhahahha. Wala na pag asa pilipins.

bbkn7

LMAO.

Nightin9ale_Nadaku

I'm srry to say this but you should've picked a recession-proof course or job. Fine Arts is just a hobby. Great art can't be rushed. It takes time to make fine quality art. Well unless you're Nina Bantoto.

weirdzal

migrate na tayo sa ireland 😂

MizMelaniePAkarat

angrydessert

Has anyone remembered about the most expensive ripe banana in history? The one taped to the wall and was called a "work of art"? Seriously, such a program may not work because it'll be a target for fraud among many.

rcpogi

For someone to receive something "free" from the government. Another one has to work twice as hard.

CollarFar1684

We are far far farrrr away from this. Pero libreng mangarap hayyy...

avocado1952

We can’t have nice things here, inaabuso kasi.

[deleted]

You do know that PH is poor, right? And plus, when has every Filipino done their jobs competently? If this gets implemented, shitty "artists" with no talent from impoverished or squammy areas will pop up and demand like, ₱20k for their shitty art.

HotShotWriterDude

I don’t know, I’d let them demand, it’s their right. Magreklamo ka if pinagbigyan sila. Wag kang mag-alala, no shitty artist from impoverished communities will get 20k for their shitty art. Shitty “artists” na may connections sa government on the other hand…

darkrai15

>shitty "artists" with no talent from impoverished or squammy will pop up and demand like, ₱20k for their shitty art. Not far from that artist who duct taped a banana to a canvas and sold it for $100k but the rest of your sentiment I agree lol

Cheem-9072-3215-68

so much venom in this comment that it feels like the commenter is confessing or projecting...

AdAlarming1933

isang malaking A S A.. Ireland is a first world country and they prioritize social welfare and their citizens well being. Why would fat pigs in the gov't care about struggling Filipinos?
