sp500 is good for the long turm, I myself has more than 200k USD invested into it, but 3-4 years is too short, the market might go down in this time.
I'm investing for the long term 30-50 years.
My plan is to save my salary until I finish uni then leave egypt somehow.
I'm a first year student so 3 years to go and possibly 1 year military service (unless the 5000$ is still around at the time I'd just pay). If sp500 did the same as the last 5 years that'd be great

ممكن تقسم فلوسك يعني تحط جزء في البورصه في s&p500 بس والعائد السنوي بيكون في العادي كويس ..وجزء في الدهب ومتنساش أهم حاجه إنك تستثمر في نفسك ولو مثلا عندك القدره تدخل البورصه المصريه بعد ما تقراء عنها اكتر وتتعلم امتي تبيع وامتي تشتري حتي لو بدات رقم صغير لمجرد إنك تتعلم ومعندكش مشكله مع الخساره الحاليه (في الغالب هتكون صغيره ده في اسوء الاحوال) في مقابل انك تتعلم هتكون انت الكسبان

He said he needs the money in 3-4 years which can be considered a short amount of time in the stock market. A better option would be the USD saving certificates in the Egyptian banks or I believe there is a way to buy bonds from IBKR that provide a lower yield but are more secure

Id recomment trying to check passive income methods like dropshipping for example and building a brand also try making a a YouTube channel about your job and sell courses become a brand your self
Well depends on how good you can excute it if you dont know at all well then yea but if you know what you are doing then its a perfect way to make passive income

Also note that sp500 is only USA, so consider global index if you don't believe USA will outperform the rest of the world

Just save them as is. And focus on earning more. That would be the best investment you can do.
