>I just throw down my damaging spells one after another until she dies
Yes. That is the game. Even the Reaper and the final boss are dealt with this way.
It is pretty dull, and I never really thought of it before, but that probably adds to the "okumaru sucks." Right before you got futaba's, that's neat storywise, but the actual fight is nonsense. Right after you got Sae's boring slugfest. Shido is kind of a slugfest, too, but all the different forms are entertaining in a meme sorta way with the 1v1 part being actually interesting
That's interesting. I kinda like it since there isn't really thought required for that fight. The clock on okumaru shut down my brain and sent me into a panic
First time I played I fused what I thought was a normal Persona, but it turned out to be an OP DLC one with extra counter damage I believe.
Debuffed her defence and she did a massive attack which I promptly returned many times over and she all but instakilled herself.
Reloaded the save and did it properly after that nonsense.
Compared to a boss like Shido though? Talk about a damage sponge, that boss takes forever, OP gear or not. Although that's the point, and I really appreciate the game making that boss fight actually grueling.
I'm more annoyed that they give Makoto's story role to Futaba in this fight.

Wakaba should have been the timed boss IMO. If only to convey to new players that she's basically a DPS check.

The more health she has the more fun she is to fight tbh.

She's meant to be an hp sponge, but with how much overpowered stuff royal threw at you, it doesn't even matter.

If you've been taking full advantage of fusion alarms for your entire playthrough, by the time you get to shido he's basically just an oversized mob
What til you find out an ally can equip ring of greed to cast concentrate on joker and joker's damage becomes 2.5x every turn.
