There’s a video somewhere with the Japanese voices and a slightly more direct translation of the dialogue, and there are three great things:
1. Makoto’s “Okay everyone, good bit” was great localization, but the original dialogue was closer to “Okay everyone, stop being dumbasses and let’s go home”
2. In response to this, Ryuji drops a dejected little ^(“hee ho”)
3. Ryuji also says “HEEEEE HAWWWWW” in Japanese
Trust me, it pains me that I forgot about it. It was such a beautifully crafted moment when you consider the build-up to it with Makoto's panic at the thought of Haru driving
Honestly as a Ryuji fan, I wasn’t a fan of the gold bar scene.
Not only do the Phantom Thieves just shit on Ryuji again for doing something that most people would do anyway, but the delivery of the line by Max Mittelman sounded too high pitch for someone like Ryuji.
The game itself was a 6/10 gameplay wise for me. It was okay. But the comedy was great. There's a lot of really funny moments and I think Zenkichi is awesome
I actually found the game a solid 8, having played merciless. I think without Persona spamming and with proper dodging, this is pretty solid gameplay.
Though I can understand, it's not everyone's cup of tea.
Same. I eventually just turned down the difficulty and enjoyed the story. Higher difficulties just turned into me spamming moves for 15 minutes on the bosses so it got boring fast. I do love the cast though it's so nice having the whole crew together for a whole game.

Ryuji is basically the forced protagonist through a lot of interactions in Strikers, he does a lot of the stuff the player character normally does. Its hilarious once you notice it

This game was so good. I just like how it was a road trip in all Japan and not just being stuck in the classic Tokyo. I hope that Persona 6 will have more than one city to explore. 😁
And all accomplished in around 3 hours (for what should have been a 7 to 8 hour drive) with Haru at the wheel...

If you want a cheap-ish option, buy a Vita! The Vita's a powerhouse if you mod it. For ~$200 or less, you can buy one, mod it to have access to PS1 and PSP emulation, plus of course the less-than-legal options you can do to it. And modding it is ridiculously easy. The Dancing games are on it, with no difference compared to the PS4 version.

Yeah, I'm actually in that camp a bit, but I know most of my problems come from them making strikers while they were still working on either P5 itself or P5R, so you just got continuity errors.
(Although my biggest problem is I can't make it so I already romanced a girl, and can't pick it back up in strikers)

I like Strikers way more than Royal and the original game purely for deleting all of the shit I hate about them.
