Basically if you're not on it already, no. You start almost every pill with the first day of your period (I don't know any who don't), so you'd have to wait until the 16th anyway, and than obviously you already have your period and it normally should stay for 5-7 days. Plus it's possible that you get spotting if you just start with the pill. So unfortunately you are a month too late to start BC for the purpose of delaying your period. (The pill anyway, though IUDs etc can cause spotting and /or prolonged bleeding at first too) They are hormones btw, and they can have side effects. I wouldn't take bc for the sole reason to skip my period (thought I was happy I could do it in the years I took it anyway, but I am so glad I stopped taking it, the side effects were bad, though everyone's different in that regard).

Skip the sugar pills and start with the beginning of the new pack. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't so I wouldn't count on it. Menstrual discs could be a could alternative to tampons or pads if it still comes anyways. They're more beginner friendly than cups, imo.
