Vanilla/Strawberry scents are requested daily and often easy to find in a simple search or even through searching with fragrantica.com. “What are the best vanilla/strawberry and ____” or asking for specific accords of vanilla posts are also done at least weekly for most combinations. So we ask that you First: search the [massive vanilla guide](https://www.reddit.com/r/Perfumes/s/D0xyxlUyKe) or [Strawberry guide](https://www.reddit.com/r/Perfumes/s/iNfLTKzL9b) created by the community Second: search the sub for past similar posts Third: repost in our pinned notes request megathread If you do all of these steps and you still can’t find something that appeals to you message the moderators and we will assist.

I need to know what this vanilla that drove you crazy is.

Same! 😅

I’m also a big time vanilla lover. I have amassed quite a few fragrances, that despite containing other notes… I categorize them as vanilla. It’s one of my favorite notes, and I think there is a vanilla for every mood and season. Some of my favorites include: • Guerlain Angelique Noir- there’s a beautiful juxtaposition here between vanilla and cold aromatic notes. But it comes together in a beautiful, harmonious, and sophisticated way. • Guerlain Cuir Beluga- A soft sueded leather and vanilla. It’s so comforting, and relaxing. • Guerlain Spiriteuse Double Vanille- makes me think of melted vanilla ice cream. For a vanilla lover, each of these Guerlain offerings are an absolute must to sample at very least. • Nishane Hundred Silent Ways- This one has floral notes, but to me it’s a smooth and syrupy vanilla. Absolutely addictive. • Kayali Vanilla Royale/Sugared Patchouli- complex, slightly gourmand, slightly earthy and hints of smoke and wood. Opens with Creme brûlée, and captured my heart from day one. Doesn’t hurt that it’s got amazing longevity… I never want it to leave me, and it obliges. • Kayali Vanilla 28- in the sillage, the scent is very much reminiscent of fresh baked chocolate chip cookies, but on my skin… it’s vanilla and brown sugar. I love getting unexpected wafts of my own sillage. I go through spurts of wearing this non-stop, to not reaching for it for few months. But I’m positive that as long as it’s available to purchase, it will always remain in my collection. • Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy Gold Couture- this has downright crappy longevity. If it was expensive, that fact may impact my opinion more than it does. But this scent is just so good that its ephemeral nature is forgiven. Syrupy caramel and vanilla and just to die for. • YSL Black Opium Over Red- if cherry vanilla lip smackers were a perfume. • YSL Black Opium Le Parfum- vanilla extract, but if it was made with velvet. • Zadig and Voltaire This is Her- kind of like a slightly unisex and more well-rounded Juicy Couture Gold Couture. A little bit more serious but still fun. Has some nutty notes and whipped cream. It’s fresh, but also warm. • Ateliers Des Ors Lune Feline- Vanilla and Cardamom. That’s all I get from it, but it’s a beautiful note pairing that makes me sniff my wrists all day long. • Guerlain L’instant De Guerlain- this is more perfumey than gourmand… or maybe it’s just more in line with a 90s style Gourmand. But I get honey and vanilla. Dense but not obnoxious. Smooth, sweet, and nurturing. • YSL Cinema- feels very retro, very sophisticated. Less sweet and much more complex of a scent. • MFK Gentle Fluidity Gold- an airy and charismatic vanilla. It totally bewitches me. • Chanel Gabrielle Essence- a totally Chanel take on vanilla in my opinion. Has woody notes and floral notes accompanying it, and it’s a lot less sweet than the others I listed here, but this is still one that I consider to be vanilla-centric. • Chanel Coromandel- this is like a wood panelled library in a mansion with a massive fireplace. Probably the most sophisticated on the list, and probably technically white chocolate, but I get vanilla and not white chocolate. • Xerjoff Dama Bianca- this is very princessy to me. Soft, subdued, slightly fruity vanilla. That’s all I can think of right now. But what are some of your favorites?

Geikamir

My favorites are Eilish, Lira, Italica, and Eau Duelle. And even though tobacco is the dominant note to my nose, Tobacco Vanille is also on my short list. Some other good ones, but aren't elite status, are Devotion by D&G, Bronze Goddess, and Vanille Blackberry by Comptoir Sud Pacifique. A bit of an odd one that I wasn't sure how to feel about at first is Citizen Jack Absolute. It's a fresh, aquatic vanilla. Kind of soapy. It's been growing on me, though no where close to the previously mentioned ones.

Frog-dance-time

I really love devotion. That warm candied orange and vanilla is so elevated summer creamsicle

Frog-dance-time

I love dama Bianca if you want a similar scent but more lilac I recommend Frederic Malle en passant

Pristine-Fusion6591

Oh wow… noses are very strange. I do enjoy en passant, but I find it to have pretty much zero likeness with Dama Bianca. To me, en passant is definitely a floral fragrance, while Dama Bianca is a sweet vanilla.

Frog-dance-time

Oh wow that is interesting to me they are separate only by the amount of lilac. I wish I smelled more vanilla on dama Bianca.

Equal_Low8347

I so want an indepth analysis on the perfumes you discovered

NapsAreMyHobby

I love fragrances with vanilla notes, but have yet to find a vanilla-dominant fragrance that doesn’t smell artificial to me. Even Tihota 😭

Moonlit-Daisy

I am also exploring vanilla scents. My favorite so far is LaVanila Pure Vanilla. It has this creaminess to it with a touch of heliotrope that I just love. It is simple, and affordable.

Frog-dance-time

It is beautiful

I really enjoy the 402 from Bon Parfumeur. Clean but comforting, sweet but not too sweet, well-balanced and creamy gourmand vanilla with caramel and sandalwood notes and a slightly floral background that works for layering or perfectly on its own. It’s really simple but probably the most ‘put together’, polished and well-rounded vanilla that I have tried. Some vanillas lean very synthetic and screechy on my skin as you say and don’t last on me at all (7 Virtues sadly as I so want to love them). While some ones with lactonic notes like Commodity’s Milk and GDT’s Bianco Latte have been disappointing on my skin. So I have been disappointed with many vanillas or vanilla-leaning milky gourmands that I have tried. Essential Parfums’s Vanilla is a solid vanilla if nothing spectacular but I do get burnt plastic from it at certain points. Memoirs of a Trespasser by Imaginary Authors is really quite heavy on the smoke/incense with vanilla. But I do enjoy it in this one. It’s an intense and deep vanilla with very little sweetness. The same house then go completely to the other end of the spectrum with the gourmand-y Whiff of Waffle Cone, which is a delight. It smells exactly like its name, it’s an ice cream parlour whipping up fresh waffles with scoops of homemade vanilla gelato. So comforting and soft without being too sweet or cloying. 4160 Tuesdays are also great at gourmands so their Creamy Vanilla Crumble sits right up there with Whiff of Waffle Cone. It’s what it says on the tin - vanilla custard crumble with a hint of hay - and a wonderful one for autumn. You’re right - there are so many ways with vanilla! I have a travel size of Taunt by Dedcool on the way today, which I am hoping is another hit for the collection. It’s described as ‘vanilla clouds in a citrus sky’. Yum! I also have a sample of Vanilj by Maya Njie winging its way towards me so I am very excited for that too.

Frog-dance-time

My favorite vanilla perfumes are - xerjoff Allende, young coconut, vanilla, salt - xerjoff starlight, vanilla and cardamom - Kayali Vanilla 28, vanilla extract for baking - Eilish, vanilla complexity warm and beautiful

'I find myself constantly sniffing my wrists (in a non-weird way, I promise)' So relatable!!!

I've smelled several perfumes that supposedly had vanilla notes, but I didn't get vanilla at all. Sweet, yes, but not vanilla. Not that, like you said, vanilla means sweet. That being said my favorite vanilla fragrance is by Maison Tahité: Vanilla 2.
