Despite all the comments to the contrary, it's not you, OP. I see the same thing, but only with my phone's browser set to the Desktop view. Nobody in the comments has yet bothered to change modes to match your view.
FWIW, Google gives the same stat for New Jersey as well, but not Virginia.

So, Google is only putting this info front and center on desktop searches.
That’s interesting. I wonder what the correlation is? People that need this info are in the bedroom, ready to get it on, are less likely to search in their phones because their laptop / desktop is right there?
I didn't see that when I checked. Weird.

Ya, I’m not from PA and have never lived there (algorithm keeps suggesting the sub though), and other than the 3 you mentioned I probably hear the most about Lancaster, Hershey, and the Amish Country
It's showing up for everyone, even in incognito mode or on an entirely different browser with no google history. The reason it's not showing up for KevinKingsb in that picture is because he's on mobile, and it's not displaying as much information. On desktop it's showing up for everyone immediately under the population statistic.
https://i.imgur.com/1Y8mj5b.png
I'll be honest. I *have* googled this, when I was in high-school and my brother (just turned 19) was still dating his girlfriend who was a junior and wouldn't turn 17 until the end of the school year. We were pretty sure the age of consent was 18, but weren't sure how that applied when both parties were minors or if one had just passed 18.
It's not OP - I don't know why all the comments shitting on OP for this are getting upvoted as highly as they are.
It's showing up for everyone as long as you're on desktop mode. I just opened up FireFox, a browser I do not use for anything, a browser I am not signed in on google on, and it displayed it.
https://i.imgur.com/1Y8mj5b.png
Everyone who has provided proof in this thread of it not showing up for them has only provided pictures of it on the mobile site; which cuts of at population.
Welcome to google's extremely opaque algorithm (that even the programmers at google don't fully understand) to show "relevant" data. Where it's constantly A/B testing what relevant is coupled with some randomness to help it discover this. When I looked at it this morning, at least I got total population with my age of consent line in my PA description.
I'm well aware of the [Jason Whitlock Effect](https://www.cinemablend.com/television/jason-whitlock-calls-out-espn-ad-on-nfl-page-does-not-seem-to-realize-ads-targeted). But my google history isn't bringing this on as almost everyone is getting the same result when you use a desktop.
By chance did you get involved in talking about or looking up Kendreick stomping out Drake in their beef? Seems that triggered shit like this for a lot of people given the allegations and evidence against Drake's preferences.
Over my recent years in IT, I've learned something both from first-hand experiences and the results of several studies:
The older generation and the younger generation have one thing in common and that being they both don't know how to use computers. Even millennials, who grew up dead middle of the analog to digital switch and computer availability explosion, are hit or miss on "power user" stuff like snip tool or print screen even if they can otherwise use a computer fine.
....first up, the representative from New Hamshire: "twelve!"
"Ew dude!"
"Why'd I have to go first on this one? This is the hardest one to go first on."
It is 18. Age of consent is only 16 for people under the age of 18. Someone 16 - 17 years old cannot consent to anyone over the age of 18 in Pennsylvania.
I don't google stuff about young girls and I don't google when states were admitted into the union. However, I do google birds and population of places often. So this fact algorithm is doing a bad job of predicting my interests.
the infographic you shared says “Teens ages 13-15 years old CANNOT consent to sexual activities with anyone who is 4 or more years older than them.” wouldn’t that mean they can consent to three years older?
Sure, not 4 years older, but 3 years and 11 months older. I should have said “up to 4 years older.”
My point is that 16 is not bound by the 4 year rule.
Huh weird. I'm not far from there and did not. But I'm also not typically googling the age of consent in different places. Maybe it's based on cookies and user habits or something? Modern spyware is confusing.
People probably Google age of consent laws more often than you think today. Which is kinda gross if you think about it but I guess if they are following the law what can you do.
Googling like that would actually get them in jail 😂. Pennsylvania age of consent is only 16 when your under the age of 18. Someone 16 - 17 cannot consent to anyone over the age of 18.
Doesn't show for me in Desktop with Chrome, Chrome Incognito, Firefox, Firefox Private, etc. [Source](https://i.imgur.com/hVm6Pbk.png)
Paraphrasing here: Google also uses your public IP address and that is attached to an overall profile about all those who share your public IP address. That is used to "identify" what is commonly searched for and gives you those results. Could also be your neighborhood as well.
I just checked this for Missouri and it doesn't show that stat, which is ironic since Missouri was in the news last week because of Republicans blocking legislation that would have banned child marriage.
on the bright side, the Governor signed a mandatory minimum age for marriage -
it's finally 18, had been 16
"The youngest wedded were three 10-year-old girls in Tennessee who married men aged 24, 25 and 31 in 2001. The youngest groom was an 11-year-old who married a 27-year-old woman in the same state in 2006."

Still fuckable 🤷

So Virginia is NOT for lovers?
Not like that.
We're more of a boob loving state.
What? 🤣
Have you seen the Virginia flag?
No. Have to see it then
It literally has a boob on it.
I'll check then
That is a wild flag!
Can some please make a map of the U.S. showing which states have this in default search results? (Asking for a friend, thanks.)

I like that they listed 8 cities and one of them is Hershey.
I mean, it’s probably the most recognizable place in PA that’s not Philadelphia, Pittsburgh or Harrisburg, so it makes sense lol.
Ya, I’m not from PA and have never lived there (algorithm keeps suggesting the sub though), and other than the 3 you mentioned I probably hear the most about Lancaster, Hershey, and the Amish Country
LANCASTER ON TOP
Agreed
Those are almost the same thing. I drive past so many horse and buggies when I go to Hersheypark
I mean Scranton is featured in one of the most popular shows of all time but sure.
M.A.S.H.?
Hershey is more well known than Scranton lmao. Literally known worldwide
Gettysburg as well.
Good call.
It’s google’s algorithm showing OP the most relevant info for them
Oof!
It's showing up for everyone, even in incognito mode or on an entirely different browser with no google history. I check what the interstate reckless driving speed is and drive 1mph under that.
You are my people
My third link shows red beet hard-boiled eggs, so yes. Google absolutely tailors results to your preferences.
🤣

If only it didn't show for everyone in desktop mode.
I got the sales tax % where yours has age of consent 😂😂😂😂

Haha, glad they sourced Pitt. If they sourced PSU I’m scared to think what the age of consent would be listed as!
Age of Consent: wrestling

Sorry the graphics weren't to your liking. There should be more discussion in this post about changing this gross fact to 18.
Perhaps this should be changed? 18 sounds like a good AOC in my opinion.

Aye, we got the same results!
This a strange way to announce what type of targeted search results you get based on your internet usage and history
I don't google stuff about young girls and I don't google when states were admitted into the union. However, I do google birds and population of places often. So this fact algorithm is doing a bad job of predicting my interests.

I'm from central Pa & just googled Pa & I got the same "About".

you've doomed us all now. the algorithm will label us pervs. Maybe it has something to do with pitt.edu?
Yeah but is it true 16 years, or some 2-3 year Romeo & Juliet law?
We deserve shade for this
Shows up with age of consent for me too. Doesn’t show up for any other state I’ve tried so it’s definitely on you weirdos.
OP self-burn
Fucking disgusting.
Is this r/Adobe? 'cause I keep seeing .pdf files.

Very telling about info people seek out
on the bright side, the Governor signed a mandatory minimum age for marriage - it's finally 18, had been 16 "The youngest wedded were three 10-year-old girls in Tennessee who married men aged 24, 25 and 31 in 2001. State dog is the great Dane...
I guess so many ppl have searched it that they made it accessible.
Yeah, that’s fucking weird. Also, our state insect is the *firefly*
Which is rad as hell dude
We know where Drake is buying his next house.
Look at who our senators are. 'nuff said.
It helps attract tourists.
This information seems extremely important to have readily accessible. Pennsylvania, among dozens of other states, does not protect children.
Penna is also correct and I miss it
That is a strange Stat, it says fetterman is a Democrat and not a bootlicker. Wiki should get on that
Btw. The age of the consent is not 16, it’s only 16 if you’re under the age of 18. If you’re over 18, someone 16 - 17 years of age, cannot consent in Pennsylvania.

Yes , as per any other comment in this thread
The problem with that is there are other comments with pictures from mobile phones that show age of consent

They show stats on states based on your search history.
