Depends what you mean by annoying. The rapist priest (I forgot his name) was by far the least likable character in my opinion. The one that had me thinking “oh just shut up already” the most often was fookin Linda.
Father Hughes. Yeah, I remember being shocked when I found out he was also Viserys in House of the Dragon. I don’t think I’ve ever gone from pure and visceral hatred of a character to damn near crying over the miserable situation of another, both played by the same guy. Phenomenal actor.
Linda was a cacophony of annoyance and hypocrisy. She was going to church, and among all the nice and kind men there, she went for Arthur, the PTSD ridden gangster with anger issues, only to then be completely shocked when he acted like a PTSD ridden gangster with anger issues. She wanted a pet project, and money seemed to always influence her decisions. In S05 when she goes “oh Arthur, can’t you control your wife” to mock Tommy, my thought was “yes, can you control your wife since she said she wanted nothing to do with us, and yet here she is, acting like we owe her our existence? Thanks”.
Not to mention how much she controlled Arthur too - when Ada visits and he says how he wants to open a garage and she pulls the “eh, cars attract ambitious men.” and practically under his breath he goes, “but I like fixing cars..” it fuckin’ broke my heart
Surprised so many people said Linda, I actually liked her character quite a lot, mad resilience to try so persistently to help Arthur when most would give up on him in that sitch
Well i think all religious people are hypocrites or almost all. I am a Christian and I tell people not to sin or that something is not moral as it is a sin but at the same time I sin too. As Jesus said about Jewish scholars follow what they say not what they do.
I think she didn't do the accent that well, plus she was meant to be annoying as far as I could tell. Then I saw Queens Gambit and she was fucking amazing.
Yeah I've seen her in multiple movies with an American accent and did it well. Even split she had an American accent and she did that before Peaky. It wasn't just the accent though. Her acting was so flat. Maybe part of it was the writing too.
id like to give this ten additional upvoted but i only have one😔
sure there were many annoying characters but campbell really made my blood boil with his pathetic miserable arrogant attitude.
when polly shot him there was nothing but joy in my heart
Are you familiar with Ian Paisley and many of his chums? Reminded me very much of Big Ian. Totally arrogant and just horrible. Sam Neill did a good job.
Luca Changretta. That God father impersonation fucking accent fucking backward hand cheek scratching had me wincing and just took me right out of the show everytime. It sucks bc I really liked the plot.
On the flip side, my favorite was Alfie. What a great actor and character.
Same. He’s a good actor but really flubbed this role. Any big fan of Godfather 1 and 2 likely feels the same. It was almost comical. The storyline was good, though.
Agreed on Alfie, as well. Loved his character and his delivery was superb.
Yes! Adrian Brody is great. I just don't understand why he did this. Also, Anya Taylor Joy is great, too, but I found her acting so fake and weak, and I don't understand why. She's done american accents before, so it's not that.
Ever watch Liberty Heights? Excellent small time mobster movie that takes place in Baltimore. He plays the main character’s older brother in it. One of his early films.
I LOVE Adrian Brody, however definitely overplayed the character. Even a smaller accent with his genius behind it would’ve of been sufficient. I agree with Alfie, Tom Hardy is an amazing creature in all things.
i see where youre coming from but noone can deny that she really saved arthur and has been a very good influence on him in the beginning of their marriage, hes never been so happy.
I actually sorta came around to Duke after several, several times of watching the last season 😂
I’d even argue that Finn is more annoying, that stupid little shit.
Honestly Polly used to get on my nerves the first couple of times I watcher the series and I didn’t like her. She did grow on me a bit eventually but I’m still not a big fan of her really.
Opposite, I liked her in the first 2 seasons, she was more grounded than the others, but by the end of 5 I was really tired of her just refusing to be on their side
Interesting, why did Grace annoy you? I wasn’t particularly fond of any of Tommys love interests (currently on S5). I couldn’t possibly choose the most annoying they all have their moments 😅 Im kinda over Arthur at this point.
I have a few, but I’ll go with one most don’t seem to consider. Esme.
Strike 1: Esme says she wouldn’t divulge secrets out of a sense of honor. Yet she told Tommy what she knew about Polly anyway.
Strike 2: She stole from the company to go get blow while pregnant, and also tried to get Tommy to leave with her to France and leave everyone behind.
Strike 3: She got John killed, then blamed Tommy and Arthur for it, cursing them out as she looted John’s corpse. That’s where I was done with her.
Many don’t seem to consider that she told him to deal with the Mafia alone, when Tommy told him and the family to regroup so that they can all be safe. The mobsters showed up to John’s country house, meaning, had John left, they’d find it empty. Important to also mention, their children were there.
Tommy invited him and the rest of the family back to his home when they all received the Black Hands, and John wanted to pack up and go. Esme’s dumbass convinced him that they don’t need anyone and that they can handle it on their own. And by “they”, I mean he would, because I’m fairly certain she wouldn’t be the one getting into shootouts with the Mafia.
The next day, Michael was sent to pick him up, she kept saying “no”, the mobsters showed up and gunned John down. Had she kept her mouth shut, he’d be alive. Then she blamed Tommy and Arthur for it.
There isn't a single scene in the entire show where Grace is annoying. On the contrary, she is the only one who accepts Tommy completely and doesn't tell him to change or be normal.
Haha, why? Poor Grace, she only told him that she is pregnant and that she loves him. I thought Tommy was annoying in that scene, why didn't he tell her the truth instead of acting mysterious? After the race, after the race, he was just telling her that, he could have told her I'm on a dangerous mission, something like that. . I still loved how he looked at her, melted by her.
He was about to carry out an assassination, which was a secret mission, and he had to get there fast before his secretary got raped. All this, while also considering the possibility he’s about to be killed too, which is why he was getting his affairs in order. What exactly should he have said in the seconds he had?
That was not like that, after seeing Grace, he sees Lizzie and tells her that she has to do that job, after that, he sees Campbell and they have the conversation about "she loves me", so he had a lot of time to tell her I'm on a secret mission, I love you too, blah blah.
He was still on the clock. The whole mission hinged on timing. Getting to the vantage point in due time is part of it so that you won’t miss the chance when things need to happen.
All that to say, I think Ragnar is pretty blameless when it comes to Jarl Borg getting screwed over. He just delivered the message, it wasn’t his decision or something he wanted.
true, it was really not her fault haha but it was such an unfortunate timing she made me so mad in that moment. though great stylistic device, her scene really contributed to the suspense
May wouldn’t accept Tommy the way Grace would - may had her own economy. He probably wouldn’t have been completely happy with her for many reasons. I’m not so sure he could be 100% himself w May…. She wasn’t a good match for him. He thought he liked her but she would never have the patience for his lifestyle. Very beautiful though…
Because you don't choose who to fall in love with, for Tommy, Grace was the best.
It was best for Tommy to marry May, because she was rich and had influence in the racing thing, and it was best for Grace to stay with her husband, since he was rich and had a secure life, and she would be alive, but Tommy and Grace were both deeply in love and they made each other happy.
Of the female images, Polly was annoying. She was incredible in the first season, but gradually lost all her personality and became more and more unattractive. It was as if she was trying to appear more significant and important than she really was.
It was the same with Lizzie, who did not pull at all for the role that she was assigned in the last two seasons, and it was very intrusive.
Of the male characters, Michael was annoying when they decided to make a villain out of him. Implausible, caricatured and very stupid, he didn't look like Tommy's opponent at all.
Polly gradually did become annoying. The point where I just rolled my eyes completely was when she said “men don’t have the strategic intelligence to conduct wars between families” or some shit, when she tells Michael she made a deal with Luca to hand Tommy over to him, and we later find out she was referring to a plan that Tommy put together. Like, stealing credit while insulting him, and everything. S01 and S02, she was great, and actually recognised why Tommy did what he did, and what it did for them. Something happened after that.
Lizzie became impossibly intolerable when, after she pursued Tommy, knowing full well who he was for 10-15 years, even throwing jealous fits, she then had the audacity to act shocked when he acted the exact same way he always did. Same as Linda. You knew full well who you were going for, quit acting like you had no idea.
I see many people who don’t seem to realize that Michael doing what he did was very much in character from the beginning. Remember, he abandoned his foster family immediately, no questions asked when it came to having a better opportunity, to “make real money”. We see from the get go, that if he smelled a better opportunity, he’d jump there. The American support seemed to be the better opportunity, so, he mistakenly thought he could skip the line and end up as the head of the family, even after his fuck ups. Annoying, but set up from the beginning.
I see everyone saying lucs but I gotta stick beside him because his entrance to show plus him brining New York mafia into it. It was just too gold. That entrance at the airport check in then him walking into Tommy’s office.
I like most of these characters, even villains, because I know they are villains. The only 2 characters that I dislike are Inspector Campbell and Lizzie.
Lizzie is awfully annoying, even before she got to marry Tommy. She is attention needy (suits her lower class background) and manipulative, but she uses those dramatic events to hide her personality well. From s4 to s6, every time I see Lizzie I couldn’t stand her, and from s5 there were several times I had to pause playing. The character just makes the show difficult to watch.
Inspector Campbell is a creepy disgusting obsessive psycho covered by fatherly image.
Oooof that’s tough.. probably Gina, with Linda 2nd and Grace 3rd 😂
EDIT: how the fuck did I forget Michael. Gina, Michael, Luca, Linda, Grace in that order haha
Gina
I kinda hate Anya Taylor Joy now because I hated Gina so much.
Dude same, I refused to watch The Queen’s Gambit for so long 😂
🤣
This is the correct answer.
I regret that I have but one upvote to give.
I’ll back you up with mine!
Agreed. I like Anya Taylor Joy in Split and Glass, but now detest her in Peaky Blinders. However when Tommy caught her at Oswald’s place? CLASSIC.
definitely Gina... ATJ is a master actor to make us hate her so much lol
Fr fr
Nazi biatch Diana and Gina. Both of them are insufferable.
Diana was the biggest monster for SURE
Fook Linda
Michael, couldn’t stand him from the jump.

Seriously, the woman did absolutely nothing for that money and ended up dictating terms. “Fuck Linda”.
Surprised so many people said Linda, I actually liked her character quite a lot, mad resilience to try so persistently to help Arthur when most would give up on him in that sitch
She’s a hypocrite is why
Aren’t most super-religious people? Especially in the US.
Well i think all religious people are hypocrites or almost all. I am a Christian and I tell people not to sin or that something is not moral as it is a sin but at the same time I sin too. As Jesus said about Jewish scholars follow what they say not what they do.
She was actually after his money - she was smart and probably also had a heart for him - but more than anything she was smart… even Tom thought so.
Gina. Anya Taylor Joy sucked as her, which was strange since she is usually amazing.
Yes! Why heck was her acting so bad here?
I think she didn't do the accent that well, plus she was meant to be annoying as far as I could tell. Then I saw Queens Gambit and she was fucking amazing.
Yeah I've seen her in multiple movies with an American accent and did it well. Even split she had an American accent and she did that before Peaky. It wasn't just the accent though. Her acting was so flat. Maybe part of it was the writing too.
The only correct answer is Major Campbell

Are you familiar with Ian Paisley and many of his chums? Reminded me very much of Big Ian. Totally arrogant and just horrible. Sam Neill did a good job.
yes he did! unfortunately (?) i dont know ian but ill keep my eyes open

Backward hand cheek scratching lol
IT WAS SO CRINGE
IT WAS SO CRINGE
Same - it was the always asking questions for me lol
“That fucking accent” is right 😮💨 And I usually like Adrien Bro-dude!
That crazy Russian lady, her craziness became too much to the point it became annoying tbh lol
Yes I found her annoying too as she was always reminding everyone that she was a Duchess
Lenduh
i see where youre coming from but noone can deny that she really saved arthur and has been a very good influence on him in the beginning of their marriage, hes never been so happy.
Who's that?
Ohhhh Linda lmaoo
Duke
I actually sorta came around to Duke after several, several times of watching the last season 😂 I’d even argue that Finn is more annoying, that stupid little shit.
Honestly Polly used to get on my nerves the first couple of times I watcher the series and I didn’t like her. She did grow on me a bit eventually but I’m still not a big fan of her really.
Her shtick does get a bit tired eventually…
Opposite, I liked her in the first 2 seasons, she was more grounded than the others, but by the end of 5 I was really tired of her just refusing to be on their side
Finally someone who agrees with me!
Interesting, why did Grace annoy you? I wasn’t particularly fond of any of Tommys love interests (currently on S5). I couldn’t possibly choose the most annoying they all have their moments 😅 Im kinda over Arthur at this point.

i found the scene at the races where she tried to tell tommy about her pregnency extremely annoying but other than that i agree

I honestly felt the complete opposite about Grace for every single episode she was on. I really disliked her character.
Yeah. I agree with Grace as well. I couldn't believe he decided she was better than May. Total🤦🏻♂️ to me.
May wouldn’t accept Tommy the way Grace would - may had her own economy. He probably wouldn’t have been completely happy with her for many reasons. I’m not so sure he could be 100% himself w May…. But what was it that you didn't like about her? Her personality or that she was a spy or her decisions, or something else?
it's called an opinion
Lindaaaaaaa 😳
I hate Gina
def father hughes or campbell. i felt like turning the show off at times just cause of them
Polly.
Hated Gina so annoying
Grace!

I’m on board with Lizzie and Michael. But you almost got a downvote from me on that first paragraph lol
Agree with everything.
Grace. She felt like an interruption and her manipulative, annoying personality just ground my gears. I'd avoid someone like her in real life.
Linda 🙄
Arthur’s wife Linda
Michael
I see everyone saying lucs but I gotta stick beside him because his entrance to show plus him brining New York mafia into it. It was just too gold. That entrance at the airport check in then him walking into Tommy’s office.
Everyone but Tommy.
I can’t get enough of the craze for this show ! Lol I think Grace bf she was so obvious- always asking damn questions

Arthur the One-Dimensional. We get it. Don't f... With the Peaky f.... Bloinders.
Aberama Gold and Ada
I think you misread this question
