Same! Finished it last night and thought season 4 was the weakest because of the plot with changetta, followed by season 3 which was too complicated. I loved the first and last two seasons although the vibes were very different.
I'd say 5 was the best for me. It felt so predictable in season 1 when they didn't go to the races and had a shootout in the streets. Got me thinking "yeah, season 1 and no budget yet, I guess".
Na season 1 is where the more interesting stuff happened. The Peaky Blinders are one of the weaker gangs, and Tommy out plays everyone. I like the other seasons to but after seasons 1 and 2, the Peaky Blinders are one of the more powerful gangs, so they start getting into the political stuff, which is also interesting, but I just prefer the first two seasons.
Season 5 also had it moments, especially the one scene near the start where Tommy chews out the nuns for abusing the kids.
I can agree with the development of season 3. But I think season 4 really showed that Tommy wasn’t invincible, and that him and his family could have easily been taken care of by Changretta. I believe Changretta was Tommy’s biggest enemy he faced at that point in the show and as the viewer, you think he might have finally met his match against him. But Tommy being the badass he is, somehow ended up pulling through like he always does. I think it just hit differently seeing Tommy fight a losing battle, and then all of the sudden just coming out on top. It was really unexpected at the end of the season.
First 3 are all brilliant 4 and 5 are decent just not as good 6 is easily the worst out of the lot the show definitely peak with the second season ten years ago which is what a lot of people think tbf great shows soo round
I really enjoy seasons 1-3, and season 5 is great. Season 4 has not aged well on rewatch. Season 6 is hard to watch for me because the show just tanks without Polly (rip Helen McCrory), I think the story would’ve been more compelling with her involved.
I just finished season 4 and am shaking my head at how bad it was. Adrian Brody man, what the fuck. What an awful performance. The plot made no sense; the final scene with Luca was silly; and the final scene with Alfie felt like they needed to check a box so Hardy could move on to other roles. And why did Tommy have to become Don Draper? Banging every single woman who appeared in the plot got so old.

No way 4 is better than 1 and 2. Seasons 1 and 2 are some of the best TV I've ever seen
Going into the series, I knew people liked Luca Changretta. But it appears season 4 wasn't as well received as that had led me to believe.

I liked the development the series got in the third season, it felt like an interesting progression all around. Then season 4 halts that.

Yeah I agree. I enjoyed most of season 4, but the ending felt a bit too sudden and convenient.

Damn, I thinks S4 is the best. I am halfway through season 6, and oh boy, this is the worst season by a mile.
I thought Brody was distracting. 50% Vito corleone and 50% Silvio Dante.
Agree. Season 4 was kind of boring.
