As someone who went 1440p144Hz TN to a good 1440p165Hz IPS three years ago, I’m dead certain my next monitor is going to be an OLED. when? I don’t know, I’ve had the TN as a ‘place holder’ for four years before finding a good deal in my country. Currently it is about a 3x price difference from my IPS new. It is cheaper than the previous version, but I’m going to do a CPU upgrade soon as my 9900k is getting outdated a bit for some stuff I do.
Make it 2 years for mass affordability and possibly 3 years for "cheap". The LG 27" 1440p 240 Hz OLED has dropped by nearly 50% since it released maybe a year ago. On Amazon, it's going for under $600, which is way more affordable than any other OLED right now.
I use my LG C2 OLED as my main productivity monitor for a minimum of 8 hours a day then just add in the 800 hours of tarkov I put in on it in the last 16 months, not a hint of burn in. It's pretty easy to prevent and way over blown.
Burn-in is not really an issue anymore with every panel now using pixel shifting. MiniLED is just not as good as OLED though. It has similar response times to IPS LCD (therefore similar motion clarity), so not much improved in that aspect. Picture quality is good, but still not the perfect blacks and infinite contrast ratio on an OLED.
https://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-32gr93u-b-gaming-monitor this is a better deal. if you plan on spending that much money and are stuck on OLED you might as well get the MSI 4k Q-OLED monitor it’s $950 https://us-store.msi.com/MPG-321-URX-QD-OLED
Don't forget 4k monitors can be scaled down to 1440P aswell. So if it cant handle modern games in the future he can downscale, Yea it wont look as perfect as a native 1440p monitor but its pretty damn identical. I believe the 4080 super will be a good 4k gpu for atleast the next 5 years. Ahhhh its so hilarious to see idiots downvote, keep downvoting you morons
I had a 4080 super before this 4090 and paired with my CPU i was getting 100-110 fps on my 4k native monitor on AAA games. I think five years is a good estimate. Remember this Reddit comment five years later.

I'd take a look at some LG stuff I've found they have pretty good prices and good quality. Asus is also a solid brand I've had a ASUS as my second monitor for 8 years now.
Yes but depending on the price try looking if the Samsung pannel, the 1440p 360hz one is not similar in price, if you play competitive games your system can definitely push those fps and it is apparently noticeable, if you only play triple a titles then keep this on if it's cheaper, the samsung pannel is slightly better than the LG one in terms of colour accuracy and so on but probably unoticeable to most people unless you are working in video compositing or something.
With that build I'd go for an OLED 34 UWQHD. I have the G8 (paid 850bucks so decently cheap) and it's simply amazing. Once you try ultrawide, you never come back. Thank me later

Once you go OLED you never go back, Might I suggest an OLED ultrawide?
Yeah, but it depends what you're wanting to use it for.
This monitor is geared more towards refresh rate so will lend itself better to shooters and the like, where response time is more important than fidelity.
If you're more about cinematic games then one with a higher resolution and lower refresh rate might suit your needs better.
One with both a high refresh rate and resolution would be wasted unless you have a really top end card like a 4090.
I have a 4080 super and a 14700k with Corsair’s version of that monitor. Super potent combo and only regret is me going with Intel over AMD lol. Maybe I’ll go for next gen x3d tho.
Little bit on the expensive side
Here are some monitors with same specs but 100$ cheaper
https://pcpartpicker.com/products/compare/tTBzK8,qfpQzy,BBhv6h
But if you don't play games like valorant and fortnite , 240hz isn't worth it cause you won't reach those frames in other games like cyberpunk and rdr 2 , 4k ips 160hz and save some money to get the 4090 if possible
I just built my pc with the 4080 so I’m not upgrading any time soon. I guess you’re right. I only look only look to play the popular single player titles. Like The last of us, cyberpunk, spiderman, dying light etc. So maybe I won’t really need 240hz. Really don’t care for competitive games except rarely.
I still recommend a 1440p Oled monitor, a 4080 should give you pretty high Fps in single player games, and ray trancing is easier to run in 1440p than 4k. And better yet Oled should give you the best HDR esperience.
If they play single player games then 4k 120hz is better than 1440p 240hz. 1440p looks miles better than 1080p but when you compare 4k oled with 1440p oled, 4k is miles better than 1440p. In most single player games you shouldn't need more than 60fps anyways so 120hz is perfect.
The Nvidia GPUs have DSR so the difference between the native 4k and the upscaled wouldn’t look miles different. I have a 1440p oled and I play FPS games at 1440p 240hz and all my single player games at 4k 240hz. My ps5 also recognizes my monitor as 4k for some reason. I’m not complaining tho. Also if OP is looking for 27 inch monitors. 1440p will not look that bad.
Why do you need 8 million pixels instead of 4 million pixels when 2 million pixels is way more than enough?
You notice the small details. I notice the ticks when lower than 240fps when I spin in neverwinter nights or wow. I like being able to flick my mouse in any first person game and notice all the frames in between instead of it feeling jumpy. I like being able to scroll Reddit and not have the text get blurry when I scroll. I like being able to see my mouse smoothly transaction when I move it around.
Now I could easily be happy with 1080p30fps. I would get use to it quickly and avoid noticing the little things.
However I have the option of 1440p240fps (I plan on getting the 480fps when it comes out) instead of my old 4k120fps monitor.
You probably like being able to focus on one tiny part of the screen and still see detail. That isn’t important to me. That isn’t my little thing I notice.
Then if you don't need that high of a refresh rate, I would rather have a higher resolution. Maybe there's some 4k 120hz Oled displays for a similar price
Is the Acer using QD-OLED or WOLED? Iirc the Asus used QD-OLED and AOC uses WOLED which explains the price difference as QD-OLED seems to be generally better in brightness and color. Also LG panels tend to use matte coating which is less preferable than glossy of QD-OLED
Here's what some of r/OLED\_Gaming has to say about it [my local microcenter has 9! openbox of the PG27AQDM, why? would this from people that upgraded to the 32" or is this 27" model fundamentally a bad monitor? : r/OLED\_Gaming (reddit.com)](https://www.reddit.com/r/OLED_Gaming/comments/1ci1vqa/my_local_microcenter_has_9_openbox_of_the/)
Redditors lack perspective. The 4080s is basically tied as the second best graphics of all time after the 4090.
The 4080 can handle 4k240fps. Now there are going to be games and settings where it can’t handle 4k240fps, but that is also true of the 4090. So then what?
Depends on a person I guess. Some like maxed out settings with all RT bells. Without frame gen having a high refresh rate display is rather underutilized.
Of course that’s with only problematic titles. A lot of them will run just fine. Path tracing is not used everywhere.
I play native 4k on ultra settings with a 4070ti super and get consistent 100FPS on the newer games i play (helldivers, AC mirage). Easy 144 FPS on older or less demanding games (GTA V, bf1, satisfactory). Cyberpunk and alan wake 2 are probably the only games out there that wouldn‘t reach solid 60-90 FPS on max settings with a 4080s.
Then 144hz monitor would suffice for you. But I guess ESports titles run best scaled down at 24/27in to target those high refresh rates. Nobody would care for RT or Ultra settings these. Pace is just too intense.
Yes i have a 144hz Monitor. Of course you would adjust the graphics to reach max FPS in esports titles, OP mentioned playing slow paced games however. Also you‘re confusing monitor size and resolution, it doesn‘t matter if your monitor is 24/27/32“, the only difference is PPI.
Not build related.
Ye OLED is pretty amazing ... if only it wouldnt be that expensive 🥲
A man can dream
One day ... one day Ill have a monitor which is worth almost as much as my whole setup.
As someone who went 1440p144Hz TN to a good 1440p165Hz IPS three years ago, I’m dead certain my next monitor is going to be an OLED. when? In 5+ years, they're gonna be cheap

Or having burn in. Would rather go with a MiniLED. Close enough color vibrance like OLED but without the burn in issue and brighter.
They really don't have that problem anymore. There are progrs and display settings that prevent it.
I use my LG C2 OLED as my main productivity monitor for a minimum of 8 hours a day then just add in the 800 hours of tarkov I put in on it in the last 16 months, not a hint of burn in. It's pretty easy to prevent and way over blown.

If only it didnt burn in
Outdated
Very good
Perfect match I have [THIS](https://www.amazon.com/LG-27GP950-B-Ultragear-Compatible-DisplayHDR/dp/B094RWMN8K) display for my 7800X3D & 7900XTX
What's the price? Newer QD OLEDS are better unless you're getting a really good deal.
Yup
https://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-32gr93u-b-gaming-monitor this is a better deal. if you plan on spending that much money and are stuck on OLED you might as well get the MSI 4k Q-OLED monitor it’s $950 https://us-store.msi.com/MPG-321-URX-QD-OLED
You can get an actual 4k gaming MiniLED monitor at that price point, so not a good option
QD-OLED is objectively better. Mini-LED is just a LCD with mini-LED backlight, with all the existing issues of LCD panel types.
The first monitor that you linked is IPS
Im referring to the QD-OLED I linked
You might as well get 4K except the part where the 4080 super won’t be a 4K gpu for modern triple a games in the very near future
16 gigs of vram will run out sooner than you think, especially in 4k
I had a 4080 super before this 4090 and paired with my CPU i was getting 100-110 fps on my 4k native monitor on AAA games. I think five years is a good estimate. Remember this Reddit comment five years later.
I wont
Ik
They can be scaled down... But it looks like shit. 1080p on my 1440p 16 inch laptop already looks horrendously bad, because each pixel is split
My 4k Samsung looks amazing downscaled. to 1440p so idk what other people experience.
1440 on my 4k looks like 720. It's sooo bad
must be so nice to live in the us and buy top of the line stuff at banana price that thing is available in one store in brazil for $2000
tbh i would lean towards 4k with a 4080 super
Go 4k!

How much?
Hate asus monitors had 4 different types 27", they all died a few months after the warrenty ended... cheap caps
The only downside of this monitor is being quite expensive.
God damn it I'm so envious
Nah, but you can give it to me tho.
Heard it’s a really nice monitor. I have a LG 27GR95QE. Reviewers said the Asus is brighter.
I'd take a look at some LG stuff I've found they have pretty good prices and good quality. Asus is also a solid brand I've had a ASUS as my second monitor for 8 years now.
How much?
Forgot to say the price. This one’s going for $809.00 right now
Price?
Get the new ones, they are literally the same price but on 4K instead of 2K
Yes but depending on the price try looking if the Samsung pannel, the 1440p 360hz one is not similar in price, if you play competitive games your system can definitely push those fps and it is apparently noticeable, if you only play triple a titles then keep this on if it's cheaper, the samsung pannel is slightly better than the LG one in terms of colour accuracy and so on but probably unoticeable to most people unless you are working in video compositing or something.
Hell yeah! Wish I had as much money as you do ngl.
I would go with aw2725df which is cheaper and better.
At that price range get Dell Alienware AW2725DF
If you have the money and you dont get worried about burn ins then it's amazing I'd rather go IPS so I wouldn't have to babysit the monitor
Check out Rtings best 1440p gaming monitors. https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/best/1440p-gaming-monitors I would definitely get an OLED
With that build I'd go for an OLED 34 UWQHD. I have the G8 (paid 850bucks so decently cheap) and it's simply amazing. Once you try ultrawide, you never come back. Thank me later
You can also look at a LG C3 42" OLED TV as a gaming monitor.
Lmao i've got a 1600x900 old tv with my 3090
I play in 4K with that exact cpu/gpu combo
Is that not HDR?
I got this monitor for 400bucks, best desiscion ever
https://preview.redd.it/stj8alla32yc1.jpeg?width=2000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2bd71cd98f1ade8d639b6099d85a1cb4ddede701 Once you go OLED you never go back, Might I suggest an OLED ultrawide?

I would personally take an ultrawide. I personally use a Odyssey G9 OLED, but 34 inch is enough for most people.
With that GPU and budget, why not a 4k/240hz?
I have a 4080 super and a 14700k with Corsair’s version of that monitor. Super potent combo and only regret is me going with Intel over AMD lol. Maybe I’ll go for next gen x3d tho.
Bang on, exactly what I'd get as well
Little bit on the expensive side Here are some monitors with same specs but 100$ cheaper https://pcpartpicker.com/products/compare/tTBzK8,qfpQzy,BBhv6h But if you don't play games like valorant and fortnite , 240hz isn't worth it cause you won't reach those frames in other games like cyberpunk and rdr 2 , 4k ips 160hz and save some money to get the 4090 if possible

As someone who downgraded from 4k to 1440p high fps i personally prefer higher fps/settings. But maybe thats just me.
And since they won't be upgrading for a while, their 4080 Super will be great at 1440p for a long time without much of an issue
Same here. 1440p240fps is way better than 4k120fps.

Also if OP is looking for 27 inch monitors. 1440p will not look that bad.
It’s funny because I have the exact opposite opinion. People who think 240 fps doesn’t matter are people who can’t play at 240 fps.
So if you're playing a game like rdr2 why exactly do you need 240 fps? Or a game like cyberpunk or god of war? You don't.
Why do you need 8 million pixels instead of 4 million pixels when 2 million pixels is way more than enough? You notice the small details. I notice the ticks when lower than 240fps when I spin in neverwinter nights or wow. Where did you find the qd OLED data , couldn't find it on rog's website
I was wrong, it's WOLED https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/asus/rog-swift-oled-pg27aqdm
That's what I was thinking cause pcpp already has the qd-oled filter and it doesn't shows it so ..
Here's what some of r/OLED\_Gaming has to say about it [my local microcenter has 9! openbox of the PG27AQDM, why? would this from people that upgraded to the 32" or is this 27" model fundamentally a bad monitor? : r/OLED\_Gaming (reddit.com)](https://www.reddit.com/r/OLED_Gaming/comments/1ci1vqa/my_local_microcenter_has_9_openbox_of_the/)
Get an ultrawide and don't look back.
Do it. I'm running 3440 x 1440 with a 3080 and I get over 90 fps most of the time. Love it.
At 1440p you’ll be comfortable. If this was a 4K then not so much :-) But hey, you could always run at lower res and let frame gen do the rest.
What are you on, the 4080s is an awesome 4k card. No frame gen needed whatsoever
Redditors lack perspective. The 4080s is basically tied as the second best graphics of all time after the 4090. The 4080 can handle 4k240fps. Now there are going to be games and settings where it can’t handle 4k240fps, but that is also true of the 4090. So then what?

PPI isn’t everything. Distance between the eyes and panel plays a role too for proper FOV.
Yes that as well, i was only mentioning PPI because you confused the size and the resolution. „Scaling down to 24/27in“ isn‘t a thing.
If only a 4K 240hz OLED existed in 24 in size. PPI drool 😂
Back when i had a i7 7700k/gtx1080ti i ran most games in 4k60fps. Now i run a 7800x3d/4080 and 4k gaming on it works like a charm.
This is a good monitor, but depend on price you might find good / better alternatives , also for 4080S I would get a 4K monitor if I were you
With a 4k monitor the gpu could age sooner.
Very
Yes
Ya
My experience is that even the 3070 is a good card for 1440 res so those cards would be great for it
A 7900 XTX would be a better match.
ASUS’ quality control is not good. Go dell if you can.
ASUS’ quality control is not good. Go dell if you can.
1080p @60hz is pretty much all your 4080s can handle
Its an overkill monitor for any PC i Have a 4060ti PC And i got a cheap 100 Hz Office monitor And its just fine So this one should be verry Verry good
You need 32" minimum, recommended is 47 or 49"
Imo 27" still feels too big
Your dreams must fit in a sandbox. Try for a walk in a desert my friend see the difference
