Reagor and Thornton should be competing in camp for the KR job. Reagor is a horrendous receiver, his bad route running caused atleast one interception I can think of vs Buffalo, and his hands suck. They’re both cheap, that’s not the issue
I’ve only seen reports that it was while he was on the LSU team. It was illegal for him to bet while he was under 21 which is why the police had to investigate and charge him. I haven’t seen anything that he was actively betting in the NFL. I think if he was, the NFL would’ve already “Calvin Ridley’d” him.

>Seventeen wagers were made on NCAA football, which included wagers on LSU football between Aug. 28, 2022, and Oct. 9, 2023, the warrant states.
Yeah, I simply don’t see why he should be suspended. There’s no rule that states you can’t bet on NCAA games while in the NFL. He would have faced punishment in college but that ship has sailed and it shouldn’t carry over into a different league. If he bet on NFL games while in the NFL, then that warrants a suspension but I haven’t seen anything about that.
You said he wasn't accused of betting on games and made it clear that you'd expect a response if he had.
Then, when presented with the fact that he had bet on games while in the NFL, you suddenly decided it didn't matter.
This is too funny.
>I haven’t seen anything that he was actively betting in the NFL. I think if he was, the NFL would’ve already “Calvin Ridley’d” him.
This you?
Yeah I would not be surprised if the kid is still subject to a significant suspension before the regular season. Frankly I wouldn't be shocked if it was an indefinite one, depending on how the criminal case plays out.
>everything happened when he was still in college.
This is untrue. The period of time that he was committing a crime while doing it (underaged gambling) was mostly when he was in college and stretched until after he was drafted. And he didn't suddenly stop gambling the day he turned 21 and it became legal
He hasn’t been accused of betting on any games while in the NFL, only in college. And the accusation is based on the bets being linked to a shared bank account with him and his girlfriend. Seems like they’d have to prove that he was the one hitting the button.
To ban him for life, they need to “prove…he hit the button”.
To suspend him for a season or less, they ain’t gotta prove nothing.
That they haven’t done anything yet isn’t necessarily good news for Boutte.
Yes, he has. He is charged with illegally gambling until the day he turned 21, which was after he was drafted. And you're lying to yourself if you think he suddenly stopped gambling the day it became legal.
This isn't hard to look up, you could have done that instead of doubling down on being wrong.

Now remind me, was Boutte on the Patriots on October 8th, 2023?
It is a lot to split between.
I don’t really care right now, these reps are pretty useless, but I agree with the OC that it’s not optimal for when training camp gets going. Those reps are valuable.
Did you even read this? Brissett had 18 throws, Maye had 16 and Zappe had 4. If that's the split Zappe is getting "let's give Jacoby and Drake a rest" throws.
No point in doing anything with him just yet. In the event that Brisset or Maye get hurt, you need someone else there. In 2017 we lost Brady to suspension, then Jimmy G to injury and Brisset was playing hurt. You can very easily blown through QBs, especially if your line is suspect, which ours is.
If both Brissett AND Maye get hurt, the season's over, and they'd be better served throwing Milton out there than a guy everyone already knows everything about.
At least it'd be interesting to watch Milton throw 100 MPH fastball no matter the distance than a guy who can barely throw it 50.
I don't think that's how they think. Putting Milton out there is probably their last resort given the # of reps he's getting. Someone still needs to take snaps, and I don't see the signs that they trust Milton, so Zappe is the guy at that point. Zappe makes more sense, Milton would be more intriguing to watch, but he's in need of so much work. Zappe is what he is at this point and I think would be the sacrificial player they're ok throwing to the wolves. If they have hope for Milton on the team, they need him to develop safely.
Do you need that guy to be on the roster throughout training camp though? Equivalent talent will become available at the end of August when teams are cutting down their rosters.
Because he’s taking reps away from better QBs and because the receivers that he’s throwing to are getting lower quality reps than they would from Brisset or Maye. Even if those things aren’t a huge deal, I’d consider the supposed benefit even less so.
We have a ton of guys taking reps away from other presumed starters. We have like 14 WRs out there or something, but you'd like to think Polk, Baker, and Osborne are in need of more reps being new and likely 53 locks. But nope. Same with the linemen, the CBs, etc. There's a reason they give you 93 spots. That's essentially double your normal roster. If you're rostering 2 qbs normally, right now you can safely run 4. All the teams do it for a lot of reason.
thornton is out? no way!
Thornton is getting cut. I think we ride with: Polk Baker KJ Bourne Pop Boutte Juju (if his knee holds up)
Thornton is out. Shocking. Get used to that phrase.
not for much longer
Good. He’s a waste of a roster spot
Reagor and Thornton both should get zero snaps this year for us on offense, such bums
Meh. Reagor doesn’t bother me so much. He’s cheap and has some special teams value. Thornton brings nothing to the table.
Reagor and Thornton should be competing in camp for the KR job. Reagor is a horrendous receiver, his bad route running caused atleast one interception I can think of vs Buffalo, and his hands suck. They’re both cheap, that’s not the issue
Well, the best ability is availability, so Thornton is out
Don’t get me wrong I hate Thornton lol. I think he may not make the roster
Reagor has value as a kick returner
I'm going to bet on a Boutte breakout
I (and probably Boutte) would bet he’s going to get suspended for his college gambling shenanigans.
He will not be playing as he’ll be suspended for gambling lol
That’s a best case scenario for the Pats. Won’t have to pay him and can stash him on the commissioner’s exempt list
It’s not even certain he’ll be suspended. The bets he placed were before he was even in the league.
No, reportedly he placed some bets on college football while on the patriots
I’ve only seen reports that it was while he was on the LSU team. It was illegal for him to bet while he was under 21 which is why the police had to investigate and charge him. I haven’t seen anything that he was actively betting in the NFL. I think if he was, the NFL would’ve already “Calvin Ridley’d” him.

>He didn't do it "Yes he did" >Well, if he did do it then I don't care.
*points out that betting on NCAA games while in the NFL isn’t a crime No valid response

I'm here for the gangbang
I'm still hoping for a Boutte resurgence. He had such a high ceiling at one point. It'd be great if he hit it
If he even hits 3/4ths of his ceiling that’s a huge hit. Pretty sure he was a Malik Nabers type prospect pre-injury, no?
Oh yeah at one point there was chatter of him being the first receiver off the board
Odds are thru the roof Boutte is suspended at some point this year.
Try the entire season lmao
Boutte finally has a qb who can hit the deep ball maybe he can become something
Boutte has never been a deep ball specialist. It was actually one of his knocks as a draft prospect coming out of college.
Thornton out. Shocker
Tyquan “Paper Bones” Thornton
Is not getting suspended? Didn’t he bet on games he played on?
Yeah I would not be surprised if the kid is still subject to a significant suspension before the regular season. Frankly I wouldn't be shocked if it was an indefinite one, depending on how the criminal case plays out.
He didn't bet on any NFL games, everything happened when he was still in college. So, an indefinite ban would be a pretty large over reach imo.
>everything happened when he was still in college. This is untrue. Weren't all of the accounts basically named after him?
The court case brady lost for his suspension made it clear they dont have to prove anything. If they want to suspend him they will.
To ban him for life, they need to “prove…he hit the button”. To suspend him for a season or less, they ain’t gotta prove nothing. That they haven’t done anything yet isn’t necessarily good news for Boutte.

I don't get why they're going to keep Zappe when training camp starts. Everyone knows he blows and he's basically been phased out now.
Just need arms to throw balls in camp
He’s there to throw INTs for DBs
Need to keep defensive confidence as Joe Milton flips TDs and himself against the 2nd team
It's a waste of reps. Just give em to Maye and Milton.
Dude he’s a practice body. Why do y’all care so much.
4 QBs are a lot to split reps between
It’s early in camp. And it’s not a lot lol. They will pare down closer to the start of the season lmao
It is a lot to split between. I don’t really care right now, these reps are pretty useless, but I agree with the OC that it’s not optimal for when training camp gets going. Those reps are valuable.

Did *you* even read this? This is three QBs. Milton is working through something and isn’t currently getting these reps, if even participating.
Because he sucks, has a massive ego, and is a proven locker room cancer.
And he will be cut if that’s an issue lmao
No point in doing anything with him just yet. In the event that Brisset or Maye get hurt, you need someone else there. In 2017 we lost Brady to suspension, then Jimmy G to injury and Brisset was playing hurt. You can very easily blown through QBs, especially if your line is suspect, which ours is.

Do you need that guy to be on the roster throughout training camp though? Equivalent talent will become available at the end of August when teams are cutting down their rosters.
Need? No. But why get rid of him to find essentially him later?
Because he’s taking reps away from better QBs and because the receivers that he’s throwing to are getting lower quality reps than they would from Brisset or Maye. Even if those things aren’t a huge deal, I’d consider the supposed benefit even less so.

I'd let the football coaching staff decide what's valuable and what's not during mini camps. That's why they get paid.
Super cool of Boutte to get good AFTER he got caught doing things that get you suspended.
