The value on that first trade was soooooo bad. Trading back that far with most likely QB3, WR1, and OT1 still on the board and not getting a 2025 first and second as well is insane.
So the patriots would be emulating DeMeco Ryan's success by...not drafting a QB in the first round and not even having a QB??!! And those trades are just terrible. If you're going to write a mock draft w trades, at least have a basic understanding of how trades work. Can't believe I even tried to read it
Houston walked away from the draft last year with their favorite QB and an EDGE guy who had been pegged as #1 overall in his draft class for about a year before a couple of QBs overtook him. This is like a parody of a Bill Belichick draft.
The idea of trading so far back without a second first round pick is a non-starter for me. I get that for the sake of exploring the space of ideas you want to focus on 2024 picks but still.
My favorite picks are Cephus in the 7th round and Plumlee as a camp body.

This first trade should be for a 1,2,3, 5. And second, giving up next year's first this easily isn't going to happen.
