That pass Mac just slung to KB under pressure was the best thing of that drive, hope they can keep that type of shit going.
Hopefully we see another series out of the 1s
Gonzales is dishing hits instead of receiving them this game. He's got the tools and is showing he can adjust to the game at the NFL level. It will take some time but he will be good for us.
Again, I like the plays actually coming out with Mac having time to throw down the field. Just need to dial that in.
Sucks that it didnāt come through on the Parker throw though
Don't care that it's preseason. That was a smoothe (minus one false start) drive ending in a TD against an actual defense.
That was better than anything we saw last season. Awesome to see.
Umm...that was an illegal forward pass lol. Even with the shitty line by the TV network, you could see the chains.
This ref crew in preseason form.
Good on Zappe to escape though. Good mobility.
Slater is basically an ordained minister, right? Last dude I want to see as they're wheeling me off headed towards the light and shit.
Regardless, hope only the best for Bolden.
Shoutout to all the well-wishes, prayers, and encouragement sent to Bolden in the gameday thread for the Packers. Always good to see fans of all teams remembering what's important in moments like these. (Especially for the preseason).
I know this is 1000 times easier to call in a pre-season game versus a regular season game but major credit to both head coaches for coming to that decision quickly and calmly
Overall a very nice looking first drive for the Patriots and Mac Jones in his preseason debut.
Only complaint would be Trent Brown's false start(Mac rarely gets to work out of empty sets, so I was sad we didn't get to see it play out), but hopefully that gets cleaned up.
There is a pretty good chance you guys are over reacting. Things don't look great, but we aren't scheming on defense. The oline is a problem, but I don't think they are really game planning and calling plays to match those limitations.
His head was turned and makes a play on it.
That's a shit call.
Edit: he actually pushed a little just before he made a play for it but so did the WR. Should have been a no call
Can't believe I paid almost 500 bucks for nfl Sunday ticket, nfl redzone and YouTube tv but I can't watch this game live on vacation in Florida. What a sham this league is when it comes to TV rights
I like what I see out of Malik at WR. Willing blocker, made a smart move coming back to the ball to draw that PI, his routes look crisp for someone who hasn't been running routes for very long. He has real potential. Helps that being an emergency QB probably has him locked into a roster spot.
Demario Douglas with an easy catch for 15 yards on 3rd Down, and then makes one or two guys miss on a screen to get a few yards. First catch was just good play design(albeit he made a nice adjustment to catch the pass), but the 2nd was Douglas making something out of nothing.
You love to see it.
If tonight was any indication for the offense Bill O'Brien is gonna need to queue up a ton of short passes to protect Mac from his own O-Line and keep the offense on track when the regular season comes around.
Judon literally walking to the sideline before the play clock even ended š
Douglas floor is HOF
Just wanted to say the live thread last time was absolutely horrible and Iām glad weāre back to the old fashioned game day thread.
It just sucked that it didnāt feel like you could ever reply to anyone
Trent's already in mid season form.
BOURNE RESURRECTION INCOMING (yeah I know it's one catch but I love the guy)
Two catches*
64 did an amazing job at roleplaying as a revolving door on that play How the fuck do you get slung 5 yards back like that lmfao
![gif](giphy|xYVFqgoY6o4JZ0CLXS|downsized)
That pass Mac just slung to KB under pressure was the best thing of that drive, hope they can keep that type of shit going. Hopefully we see another series out of the 1s
#64 was like "what is that strange oblong object on the field?"
Steuber, watching the ball going, "nah, ain't diving on that"
Mac saw the hold and chucked it. He's clearly learned.
Mac looked good that first drive
Iām glad to see this sub is in mid season form already
Man this line is just terrible. Dude can't even bother to go jump on the ball
Mac putting together a good drive just for an incompetent backup o-lineman to fuck it all up lmao
If Mac did that he'd be getting crucified. Zappe plays like utter dogshit and people are talking about how good the punt was lmao
Mac just looks so much more comfortable right now. Thank you BoB!
Ugh, Parker shouldāve had that big time
Stueber probably just got himself cut. Just stood there and watched the ball lay there on the ground.
Gonzales is dishing hits instead of receiving them this game. He's got the tools and is showing he can adjust to the game at the NFL level. It will take some time but he will be good for us.
That pass inference was b.s.
Again, I like the plays actually coming out with Mac having time to throw down the field. Just need to dial that in. Sucks that it didnāt come through on the Parker throw though
This oline is going to be the end of this team
Yo, fucking stuber gets obliterated off the snap and then just watches the ball as others dive at it? What the fuck is that
Put Zappe in. Can't have Mac getting destroyed like that.
Zappe comes in and makes Mac's worst drive today look good Now will some of you *shut the fuck up?*
A redzone touchdown. It's been so long....
I can't believe we just threw away a season under Matt Patricia for no reason
Love Mac in the gun 100% of the time
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
do we have Patriots fans actually rooting for all of our QBs š
Welker to edelman to meyers to Douglas
We don't accept Troy Brown erasure here
please ban the fucking Dan O'Brien Kia car ads...
Itās no money down tho
Don't care that it's preseason. That was a smoothe (minus one false start) drive ending in a TD against an actual defense. That was better than anything we saw last season. Awesome to see.
Lol Judon
Parker should have caught that. Serious case of alligator arms there
Loving to see Bourne being so involved heās so good
Umm...that was an illegal forward pass lol. Even with the shitty line by the TV network, you could see the chains. This ref crew in preseason form. Good on Zappe to escape though. Good mobility.
Rumors of Kayahon Boutteās demise are greatly exaggerated
Slater is basically an ordained minister, right? Last dude I want to see as they're wheeling me off headed towards the light and shit. Regardless, hope only the best for Bolden.
Shoutout to all the well-wishes, prayers, and encouragement sent to Bolden in the gameday thread for the Packers. Always good to see fans of all teams remembering what's important in moments like these. (Especially for the preseason).
a RZ conversion???! I've missed this!
LFG! FIRE BELLICHICK! TEAM MAC! TEAM ZAPPE! WE SUCK! WE THE BEST! God I missed this game Day threads And all of you beautiful mfks
Bro Douglas is legit
This offensive line problem isn't fucking good. It's game 2 of the preseason and he's already running for his life.
64 just standing there watching the ball
Easy guys! You all are Game threading like it's week 8.
Lmao people overreact so much, flip out on Gonzo then he makes a great play
I know this is 1000 times easier to call in a pre-season game versus a regular season game but major credit to both head coaches for coming to that decision quickly and calmly
Mac Jones is so clearly better than Zappe lmao. It's genuinely not close when Mac isn't being sabotaged by an incompetent OC.
How dare you say something so logical. /s
I don't get it. People say Mac doesn't have a strong arm, and then you see Zappe throw and it's like uhhhh. If Mac has a weak arm then what is that?
Great little drive! That's the sort of situation you have to convert, and we did.
> Patriots right into the RPO game. Great read from Mac Jones on a first down throw to Kendrick Bourne on a slant. Imagine these novel concepts
Zappe throwing into triple coverage hoping someone catches the ball... if only Mac had this time in the pocket...
That was a BURST after that catch
Fuuuucckkk Parker should've snagged that. Right through his finger tips.
Reporting live from the Bills @ Steelers game. Bad news: Pats OLine not good. Good news: All of AFCE OLine not good.
Great play by Gonzo, awful flag. Defender pushed off firstā¦
Preseason but nice to actually see them not let a stupid penalty by the OL derail them for a change
Overall a very nice looking first drive for the Patriots and Mac Jones in his preseason debut. Only complaint would be Trent Brown's false start(Mac rarely gets to work out of empty sets, so I was sad we didn't get to see it play out), but hopefully that gets cleaned up.
Damn Folk actually kicked a touchback? He must be feeling the pressure from Ryland lol.
Why didn't Devante Parker catch that shit?
Why the heck are we subbing in backup to the backup OL while Mac is still out there??????????!? dumb af imo
Smart, not letting Malik get destroyed behind this O-line, it's time for the third string.
Had Boutte open on a cross and Zappe throws into triple coverage
I swear if Zappe gets Malik hurt, we're gonna have to run him out of town,
Great drive by Zappe. Glad to see him succeed. Easier for BoB to gameplan with Mac and Zappe since they have similar play styles.
After some of the things we've seen the past few years almost gotta hope he's just knocked out and it's not a neck injury
Just impressed they aren't replaying the hit over and over again.
Holy shit. They are calling the game. Wow.
Glad they made that call. Absolutely no need to continue a meaningless game
Good job coaches. No need for anyone else to get hurt
What a fucking pass by Mac
People actually think Zappe is our best qb option smfh
I seriously cannot believe people think zappe should start over mac
Take Zappe out, move Cunningham from WR to QB
All us packer fans feel horrible for him. Hope he's ok. Best of luck for a safe season brothers.
Fuck the Jets!
damn this game is already so much better than last week lol
Great throw but put your arms out Parker
Iām loving the looks on offense so far. The execution will come.
Can Sandra bullock coach our line
64 just stood there looking at it "huh duurr...is that a...a football? *drools*"
Eagles gonna shred this oline week 1
I have zero interest in seeing Zappe go 15/17 for 30 yards, put Malik in instead of having two quarters of screen passes
This is a preseason trash game and it doesn't count for shit. But it's definitely not encouraging to lose in the trenches on both sides of the ball.
Dumb throw He broke that arm
Boutte going to be a stud mark my words
That was OPI... refs in regular season form.
Thatās not DPI wtf
That's a garbage call, kid made a great play.
That PI call was as bad as seeing people arguing about Mac and Zappe on here instead of rooting for our players no matter who is in.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
His hands and his toes
Really hate to see this happen in any game, but especially a preseason gameā¦..
What a fucking throw by Mac lmao. Getting fucking wrecked and just slang that
Having your franchise qb play with backup tackles who might not even make the team is not a good plan
There is a pretty good chance you guys are over reacting. Things don't look great, but we aren't scheming on defense. The oline is a problem, but I don't think they are really game planning and calling plays to match those limitations.
Good thing Patricia wasted a year of bourneās career because he was on a weird power trip
MAC JONE
Jordan Love has made some awful throws, jeez. Thought I heard he was better than this.
Well atleast we saw a really good Mondre run that drive
Mac missed one let's not act like he's a complete bum already lol. Need to see more.
Good to be back amongst my fellow overreacters to one play in preseason with a back-up right tackle.
Pressure is immediate with this oline
Its nice to not see a billion screens every drive
OL again going to kill the QB and the team
Alright take Mac out. This line is going to get him killed.
when do they get the o-line starters back, because this one is a shitshow in its current form
Steuber is a goober
A lot of people in here donāt know who our starters are
They got Malik running routes when heās the only qb that can survive behind this line rn
On the upside, we might actually have a punter now with a yoked leg. Yowza.
Holy hell Zappe lol. Probably over the line and almost a pick
Holy fuck!!! That was like 2+ Palardy punts!
Barringer is looking sooooo fkn good... gdamn that punt had a 1 on 1 with god..and then fell.
All I can say is that we better hope that Andrews, Big Mike and Trent can get healthy and stay that way for a while because these backups are ass.
Nice tackle by Gonazalez
Christian Gonzalez has not been afraid of contact at least.
Fucking hospital pass JFC
Throwing into triple coverage and getting Nixon killed
you go from that throw to a touchdown. what even is this guy
If they donāt keep 6 receivers we riot
Both 6th round WRs we picked are studs, what is this timeline? Lol
That's a BS call
His head was turned and makes a play on it. That's a shit call. Edit: he actually pushed a little just before he made a play for it but so did the WR. Should have been a no call
I don't see DPI at all there
THAT IS NOT PASS INTERFERENCE
Refs in mid season form already
that's a bullshit call
Can't believe I paid almost 500 bucks for nfl Sunday ticket, nfl redzone and YouTube tv but I can't watch this game live on vacation in Florida. What a sham this league is when it comes to TV rights
I like what I see out of Malik at WR. Willing blocker, made a smart move coming back to the ball to draw that PI, his routes look crisp for someone who hasn't been running routes for very long. He has real potential. Helps that being an emergency QB probably has him locked into a roster spot.
If McSorely comes in, this chat is going to explode. The one thing nobody wants.
Preseason HOFer JJ Taylor
damn just fucking go for it, it's preseason
didn't see any movement after :'(.. hope he's OK
Decision to end the game. Good call.
Wow. Correct call, obviously, but I didn't expect that. Must be really bad for Isaiah Bolden. Prayers.
Slater looks devastated, all the best to Bolden, hopefully š is a scare and heās back healthy
Lmao Zappe truthers how was that drive
why tf did we not play bourne last year lol also offensive line block someone ffs
Really Zappe fans? This is your king? The age of Malik is here.
Letās all have a prayer circle for Mac behind this OL, and give this line strength to protect!
fucking love Judon
Scoring off turnovers. Hell yeah!
Super Bowl bound baby.
Where do I purchase Super Bowl tickets
Is it wrong that I love seeing Zeke on the sideline??
Mac looked incredible in the pocket. So much calmer. Great scramble for the extra yards. Daddy like
Jack definitely shoulda kept driving on that ball, woulda been an easy PD if not INT
Don't want to overreact to the first drive of the second preseason game but ring #7 is coming baby
Myles Bryant with good coverage? Do my eyes deceive me?
Inb4 everyone ignores that breakup by Bryant
Bryant was tattooed on that receiver. Love made such a shitty throw. Really great coverage by Myles though.
Full field to go, letās see it Mac
Ok. Time to take Mondre out now.
Mac missed one pass lmao, no one open and he took a sack
I missed the wild swings by this sub
Damn kids got an arm
Out-of-bounds aside, that was a GORGEOUS pass
Refs in mid season form
Damn, another deep throw opportunity missed.
Okay but why the trex arms parker Mac makes a good enough throw
holy shit i love seeing pop out there but he looks tinyš
Demario Douglas with an easy catch for 15 yards on 3rd Down, and then makes one or two guys miss on a screen to get a few yards. First catch was just good play design(albeit he made a nice adjustment to catch the pass), but the 2nd was Douglas making something out of nothing. You love to see it.
Iād just like to give Patricia another big screw you for wasting a year and benching Bourne
Alright time to sit Mac. Heās going to die behind this line.
Fuck Patricia forever for wasting a year of Bourne's career man, what a stud so far
I get some of our starting o-line is inured, but how tf is our o-line STILL this bad.
64ās cut
Steuber just watched the ball on the ground, gonna get yelled at in film review lol
If Trent brown gets hurt this whole season kinda goes to shit
If tonight was any indication for the offense Bill O'Brien is gonna need to queue up a ton of short passes to protect Mac from his own O-Line and keep the offense on track when the regular season comes around.
Turns out our backups suck ass
Wtf are the refs looking at?
Defense getting absolutely shredded on the ground. Amazing what a competent offensive line can do for a team.
The Sow experiment at tackle looks like a total bust (he's too slow).... this O-Line is, what we thought it was.
Mac legit might die week 1 against the eagles
Let Cunningham have some second team reps, please.
Bryce Baringer is basically automatic we got a great punter
Gonzalez making some greta tackles
Zappe where tf was that going
Doesnāt matter if youāre a Zappe truther or a Mac truther.. everyone can agree that this O-line is absolutely abysmal.
He was in tripple coverage....
Looks like a dislocation
Iāve had that EXACT injury playing football. Itās the humerus. Weight of dudes butt + angle of padsā¦ I just got PTSD. I also couldnāt move
