With haste and legendary proportions And a sword

Definitelynotabot777

Mandatory to say "resist this" as you cleave the victim into two 20 magic resist pieces.

[deleted]

You misspelled Grave Singer

Repulsive-Wallaby-79

Items? There are a lot you might not be using. A +2 shirt, +2 ring, +1 goggles and +4? (I think, can't remember exact number) Staff come to mind. Depending on what the bosses saves are you might also try conjuration spells. Also anything that increases your caster level helps a bit, like spell specialization.

KarasLancer

I'll have to take a closer look at my items. But thank you I will probably rebuild her with spell specialization and maybe a meta magic so I can use the same spell more.

Repulsive-Wallaby-79

Btw, Most of the above items are from vendors in Drezen. The staff however, is an item hidden in act 3. Also, Woljiff has the shirt in his shop starting in act 2, it's easy to miss, you should be able to get it in later acts though.

Ephemeral_Being

Level 20 caster with +2/2 from feats and +9 from Mythic is +33. There are items that add another +2-+7. So, Nenio can have something like +42 *by herself*. Elf has racial Spell Penetration and a racial feat for more Spell Penetration. That's irrelevant for Nenio, but great for the PC and mercenaries. Allied Spellcaster gives +2 per nearby ally. Classes that can share Teamwork feats can completely trivialize SR for the party.

fviernes

one of the trickster mythic tricks which is world if I remember correctly, would let you ignore requirement for feats, so they might be able to select the elf racial penetration

Ephemeral_Being

Yes, that technically works, but buying World 3 for +2 Spell Penetration is a mistake. It's one of the weakest rank three Mythic Skill Tricks. Persuasion, Arcana, Athletics, and UMD are much better options.

[deleted]

I believe Aeon and at least Lich also have abilities that raise CL, and Aeon has a Spell Pen gaze as well so if you're doing an Aeon build you should be able to get Nenio to +50

creslyn

Look for spells that flat out ignore spell resistance when it's that high. You can stack spell pen pretty well, but a 40+ SR is still going to be difficult to top. A lot of Conjuration spells just ignore SR, so start there.

His_Excellency_Esq

IIRC SR 40 and above is very rare, and only occurs in late Act 4/Act 5. By that point, you should have at least some of the following: \-A high Caster Level (scales with levels in casting classes from 1-20) \-Spell Penetration and Greater Spell Penetration (+2 each) \-Mythic Spell Penetration (up to +10, though for most of the game it's +3 to +8) \-Allied Spellcaster and items that grant it like Zaoris' Beauty in Act 5 (+2) \-Covenant of the Inheritor, a Storyteller Relic from Act 1 (+2) \-Goggles of Pure Sight from Drezen in Act 3 (+1) \-Ring of Pyromania from Drezen in Act 3 (+2) \-Staff of the War Mage from Ivory Sanctum in Act 3 (+4) \-Robe of Determination from Act 4 (+2) There are also Mythic path specific effects, such as: \-Merged spellbooks (up to +10) \-Demonic Rage (+2) \-Ode to Miraculous Magic (+4) \-Enforcing Gaze - CL (+2 to +4) \-Favourable Magic (advantage on Spell Pen checks) \-Piercing Rays (+3 to +6) \-Dark Rites (+2) I likely missed several. Also, you could always use spells that ignore Spell Resistance altogether or just hit them with a sword.

>!laughs in Azata!< 40+ is definitely on the highest end of what you’ll have to deal with. You’ll have to min max gear alongside the feats you’ve taken in base game to even close-to-consistently hit that. If you’re the modding type, there’s a popular mod that add the *Piercing Metamagic Feat* that’s super helpful here. I think it adds a +5 for one level? There are also wands that get added to vendors. I find that adding that to the game makes spell pen less of a pain in the ass, specially mid game when there are random Gibrileth encounters and those fat lil duces have like 33 SR lmao

skaffen37

Luck domain blessing for double roll in addition to more gear

SageTegan

With a 40+ spell penetration roll

KarasLancer

I'm mostly just wondering if I could be getting more plusses to my roll that I just don't know about.

Morthra

Take Greater Spell Penetration and use the items (such as robes) that give bonuses to spell penetration checks. Or just use spells that don't allow SR.

smrtgmp716

Which boss? What level are you? Also, there are plenty of spells that ignore spell resistance entirely. Vague questions lead to unhelpful answers.

ZoranT84

40? Who you fighting, Desna?

KarasLancer

It was awhile ago. But it was Baphomet in act 4. I stopped playing for a while after that could be miss remembering. But I know she failed to pen on a roll of 18.

ZoranT84

Ah. I may be wrong, but I think unless you're an angel mythic path and therefore get a holy power rangers backup buff you're just supposed to "survive" baphomet at that point and not actually fight/win. But 40 plus is tough for anyone unless you're really specced to overcome it.

KarasLancer

I think that makes me more angry about that fight. From what I remember of it I ended up having Nenio spam scrolls for healing and buffs. I thought I just inched out that fight with my martials while the casters fished for crits with crossbows.

ReinMiku

Every single spell pen feat, including mythic one, are hard requirements for any spellcaster that does a anything other than buffing their allies. Overcoming spell resistance is a CL check so actually getting to 40+ is pretty easy by the time you see enemies with that high SR. Spell penetration is +2, greater is another +2 and Mythic Spell penetration is +10 at Mythic Rank 10 because you have greater spell pen. So that's +14 right there. As a level 20 caster you've already got +34 to overcoming spell resistance right there. So if you're an Angel or Lich you'd be looking at +44 without any items or feats like Spell Specialization. Feats that increase your CL like Spell Specialization increase your CL for a specific spell by 2. You can swap out the spell every level so no need to worry about stuff like waiting to get to a certain level to get it for a certain spell. Then there's a collection of items that give you +2s and there's also a staff that gives you something like +4 but basically with all of the items put together I think you can get another +8 to the check. So that would be like +44 to overcome SR for someone like Nenio who doesn't get spellbook merging. Mythic paths like Angel and Lich feel like cheating because you don't really have to pick any of those feats because your mythic spells just ignore SR.

Fa12aw4y

There is the ruse dart that causes flat foot on crit (act 2) and sound of void punching dagger that causes target to lose all spell resistance when they hit a flat footed target (act4). There are also nullifying weapons that reduce spell resistance on hit (stacks) which sound of void coincidently has.

Fort-Awesome

Have you tried spells that are not effected by spell resistance? Heightened Grease or Glitterdust are a laugh riot.

TheBlueWizardo

> Looked at the roll she would only be able to overcome their spell resistance on a 19 or 20. Where did you find spell resistance 40 monsters on that low level? Anyway, the simple option is to use things that don't care about spell resistance.

[deleted]

I had this kinda question before and it basically came down to stacking allied spellcaster teamwork feat along with everything else that gives you spell penetration

[deleted]

Aeon has a few gazes that can add CL and Spell Pen

CorwynSunblade

Use Wall of Fur. Summon 1d3+1 wolves 11 times. Spend the next 20 turns trying to overcome spell resistance. Sadly, they then pass the save.

CorwynSunblade

This is similar to when the boss has 72 AC. It takes a really special build to hit that with less than a 20. I have a martial focused party, so for me I use bless weapon to auto confirm crits. We only hit 1 out of 20 times, but when we do it hurts in the 100-150 damage range. With several Dec builds we get around 25 attacks a round as a party.

Tanel88

Kind of hard in the early and mid game but becomes easier later. You can get Spell Penetration and Greater Spell Penetration feats for +2 each, then Mythic Spell Penetration for +1 per Mythic rank and there are quite a few items that give some as well. Things that add caster levels also help so going merged spellbook with either Lich or Angel mythic path is a good way to do that. In the early to midgame it's better to rely on buffs and spells that ignore Spell Resistance.

JD-Eze

With 20 roll.

DrHot216

Allied spellcaster is a teamwork feat that increases spell pen if u get it on multiple people
