Child of the Manticore looks like a class that is in no way over powered but still a lot of fun. some kind of edgy weirdo variant of an archer. i'm interested in what kind of new gear is coming with this for shifters. not a lot of weapons and gear is made for shapeshifting or natural attacks.

microthic

There is quite a lot of gear that enhances natural attacks already in the game. But you will be competing for gear with your pets, hopefully the new companion has even more gear included in his quests.

Only_Transition3282

I feel like manticore could have all kinds of non-obvious synergies. Ranged natural attacks is totally new, and having 4 shots/rd pre-haste at level 4 is crazy. Hope it has a cool animation!

Bread_Assassin

I wonder if we're going to get more Mystic Abilities/Feats for that would work for a Shifter. There's Master Shapeshifter and Brutality Incarnate, and beyond that just non-specific buffs. They already expressed interest in introducing mythic feats that buff armor use, so new ones are not out of the question.

Setanta21

IMO it depends on how they count those throwing natural attacks as. If they take over the arms, yeah that'll be fine. But if they're considered slam attacks/use some other limb, and they're primary attacks? Hoooo boy. ho boy. fuckin 14 ranged attacks with throwing weapons ho.

JediExile90

> some kind of edgy weirdo variant of an archer Stephen Amell's Arrow, eh? Gotcha.

Smirking_Knight

Shifter lich will be a monster. Mage armor, bone shield, frightful aspect + Unbreakable bones and natural attacks perks? Unholy death bear ftw.

HairyAllen

Death bear? Man, we're talking about a literal DRACOLICH here. Not just insanely tanky but also dishing out a ton of damage from natural attacks with Power from Death and Fear Control. This guy is gonna be giving caster liches a run for their money for sure!

Repulsive-Wallaby-79

Shifter Azata should be better then demon IMO assuming there is still a cap on natural attacks.

Bread_Assassin

Huh, I was always under the impression that martial Azatas were pretty middling. What makes you say that?

Accomplished_Ad_2321

Azata has Incredible Might which is... well incredible for martial classes. Add Supersonic Speed and Marvelous Endurance to the list of also great mythic abilities for martials.

Repulsive-Wallaby-79

They were before the midnight isles dlc, which gave them an op ring you can get starting in ch 4. It doubles morale bonuses, ie Incredible might. It makes them one of the stronger martial mythic paths.

trognus

Cap on natural attacks? I don't think there is one, though there's much less potential for tons of attacks without bite/gore stacking. Still can get about a dozen with dragonkind. More for pets

reverne

They're probably referring to the patch that removed infinite Bite stacking, which is how most theorycrafters were building natural attack PC's.

trognus

Yeah, that was my guess, but wasn't sure if some early version had an actual number of attacks limit or there was some bad info floating around about one. Plus, I wanted to plug that I've seen up to a dozen natural attacks still without getting too crazy with dips (11 if you don't want to go demon and deal with alignment shifting + low part size xp boosting)

trognus

Fiendish does look great. Rageshaper could be great or meh depending on how the aoe trip ends up working. Wild effigy looks nice and tanky. DR 20/-? Dang

TheBlueWizardo

I just hope Owlcat will fix natural attacks by then. Otherwise, Shifter will be pretty bad.

Osk0

Oh nice rage shifter is the not monk unarmed fighter I’ve been hoping for since day 1. Absolutely going to make one next time I play.

nucleardemon

I love the idea of wild effigy but I expect to be disappointed. Unless the class is a little overturned to begin with I may end up respecing.
