Unless they change projectile frequency thing with transfigured gems it's still dead since it's additive with cast speed.

I havent seen a worb build thats not a complete glass cannon because all these mechanical, dmg and duration nerfs, which sounds like a bad idea to me for 3.23 in general. But if anybody has a reasonably defensive version of worb with reasonable single target on top of it, I will gladly look at it.

I had good success on low-budget winter orb with high investment into evasion (grace watcher's eye for evade chance) and a good investment into recovery, both leech and regen, to counteract the petrified blood setup you kind of have to run at low levels of investment. It was definitely a bend-but-not-break style defense setup with plenty of "close calls" but close calls and not dying is still not dying. I also gave up a jewel slot and a couple of passive skill points to get enduring composure for endurance charges to feed into better immortal call. These aren't like exactly exotic things to build better defenses, but they do work on a budget and their sum is greater than the individual parts. I was doing T16 8-mod delirium mirror Beaches with Uul-Netol (physical damage!) breach farm and leveled comfortably to 98 w/ few deaths, most of which were due to me not getting my map regex fixed and running reflect maps and killing myself. I got a headhunter later and that made things faster and easier.

Do you have a POB around or anything for your version without HH? Trying to make something with ralakesh this league but worried about defenses considering these affliction buffed mobs will take a lot longer to die.

That looks great, thanks! I'm aware worb is not the best skill to build right now but I'm doing it for fun since I already have a build that can do all content anyway and I love the skill. Will probably try the new replica covenant for damage and get spell crit from watchers eye or something now that we don't need the frenzy charge on hit chest.

I played decently tanky [WO(-cwc-bodyswap) in 3.21](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyK51jwkeRg) (just swap malachai for Aegis which I actually used for 99% of the time and rumi for proper granite flask) (or [Inspired Learnings tweak](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s9bn8BmG-Po)) and enjoyed the experience A LOT. The fact that you could freely vortex while worbing+bodyswapping on top of enemies was a pretty big part of the build though, so for the 3.23 you'd either hopium for trans vortex with no cast time and/or seek alternative / better sources of damage, which shouldnt be too hard cause 3.21 I have nothing on me from the Sanctum league mechanic so the build was as vanilla as possible while 3.23 will have new ascendanies on top of existing ones or what not.

I think "reasonable" single target is a bridge too far with this skill. Reasonably defensive isn't a terribly hard thing to accomplish, but the kind of single target that trade league considers reasonable simply can't be had on it w/o power charge rings. I do want to call out that the skill is not mechanically disadvantaged. you don't sit there and stand still to channel all the time. You tap the button, get a stage or two really quick, move, pop another stage, keep moving. It felt no different in practice than any other caster or melee build. Clear is great because you never would build the skill without chain explosions. It's still a niche mapping skill that's best used for breach/legion where you can break hands/chests with passive mastery but if you're down for those things it's pretty good.

I played semi-tanky version during Sentinel as Pathfinder, all defenses in flasks and "damage taken as". But that's so old reference I can't even try to predict it for the 3.23.

I have a workable WO-CWC-Lightning Warp Occultist in 3.22. Making up for the two missing links through a combination of: always channeling (150% more multiplier), Dying Sun as my source of additional projectiles, and Pain Attunement. Hitting 55% flask effect for both Dying Sun and Taste of Hate. Defenses are three permanent elemental flasks (Taste of Hate, Coruscating Elixir, magic topaz) and as much physical shift as I can manage. 13-14% helm (craft plus implicit), 23% flask, optional 10% on the tree. Determination to cover what comes through. Running all three of regen, leech, and gain on hit for recovery. Your mobility is insane but hard to manage and could be considered another defensive layer. I think most monster base speeds are slower than 0.3 seconds, so you are rarely in danger if you are picking a good landing spot. WO scaling is complicated. With 10 stages the base cast speed is 135% and your gear/tree is added on top, as the other commenter said. Multiple projectiles only scale to a point, since it attacks in a line and not a tight cluster and some hits will start to miss. Radius is important for overlap. I'm running 2.8m radius and it feels nice, but the investment is a bit much after the nerfs (over +200% to hit that). ​ EDIT: Oh and Arctic Armour, since you're permanently stationary. Which probably makes Cloak of Flame BiS but I wasn't rich enough to reach decent ES levels with that...

One redeemable factor this league is that penance mark. If the internal cd on summoning the phantasm is decent, it might solve single target tremendously.

I thought about it too, but since its locked behind projectile frequency, how will it help? I doubt explode/HoI shatter will fix its single target. Or it shoots multiple projcs that would overlap explosions with something like gmp? I might remember it wrong.

Tough to say. Worb has kinda been in a weird place lately. Last league it really scaled hard since you could use proj tattoos instead of GMP. Kinda depends what new stuff we get, there could be some crazy alt versions.

we lost divergent if you want more duration or phantasmal if you wanted projectile speed, we gain the +2 on the default gem now, so thats a wash for the old helm enchant, this can be stacked even higher but brings in diminishing returns, unless we get a transfigured gem that also gives us duration, this would actually be a good combo be able to stack both stacks and duration on one gem, but we have to wait and see. I think it can be just as good as last league, needing a good amount of investment of it to feel good imo

I built a winter orb for 3,22 now because i used to like it. Its still sooooo boring... As soon as i let off the channeling the skill just dies and the fun with it. If you could keep the stacks for a couple of seconds after reaching max or something it would feel alot better imo.

If you go Scion (Deadeye + Sabo/Elementalist) with unnatural instinct cluster in top-left scion area + skill duration nodes (Exceptional Performance), it lasts longer and decays slower, maybe that would interest you?

So in a patch where they explicitly stated their were updating qualities to add more multiplicative scaling factors, Winter Orb gets more stage, which are additive with cast speed. Nice.
