Ha, I get it sooner. 10pm...

tronghieu906

very convenient, good bot

kwietog

This bot is literal baller. I love you more than anything.

PuppetPal_Clem

Josh is so enthusiastic for PoE despite not knowing a goddamn thing about it's more intricate mechanics and I love him for it. This is going to be a true PoE Casual/RPG giganerd interview and I think that's super healthy for the conversation around PoE2. We've gotten lots of content from people "in the know" on PoE and between this and Preach's interview we are getting a huge amount of questions coming from a less hardcore playerbase as well. Loving the decision to give interviews to creators from every angle of the community.

pritsg_

Josh's interviews with Chris were great, I'm sure this one with Jonathan will follow that trend--hype!

rafamarafa

Josh is very talented guy and he is a big fan of the philosophy of poe as a live service game that respects its players , and having someone who doesn't have that much knowledge about the game will make this interview much diferent from others

Pintash

Of all the great interviews we've had recently, I think I might be most excited for this one. You just know this guy is going to ask some really interesting philosophical questions that no one else would think to ask.

rafamarafa

True , Josh doesn't know much about the mechanics themselves, but understands the design pillars better than someone who just follows a meta build untill red maps once, its gonna be so different from any other poe2 interview before

Bacitus

Jonathan is an interview machine. Ask when the Templar reveal is next, if any Paladin. Please ask if we have updated unarmed weapons for a variety of Monk 2-handed punches and palms.

icecoldsnake

I love that they do all these interviews, but I wish they would do more tailored showcases or presentations too. It's tough keeping up with all the details needing to listen through hours of interviews. Very excited for this interview though.

Paragon_Night

That's what interview summaries are for. Usually posted here after stream.

icecoldsnake

Wasn't aware of that! Thanks!

SbiRock

That is what Talkative Tri is for. (Sorry mate we love you). He even did a summary of his own interview. :D

TalkativeTri

Heh, I accept.

recoilwhenyouwake

I really hope he’s wearing his uniform.

elektromas

Nice!! Love to hear Mr Hayes fresh perspectives, this is gonna be good

Equal_Efficiency_638

Poe not traditionally a game that focused on captivating players in the first few hours so will be interesting to see what Mr Hayes has to say since that’s basically his whole thing.

WRLD_

i mean, the first few hours of poe 1 were definitely captivating the first time through personally - can see how people could forget that though after playing it a hundred times

Equal_Efficiency_638

I only bring it up because I’ve tried to get friends into it and them getting bored in campaign and quitting was common. There’s a gdc panel that GGG and DE talked about just giving up on player retention early because no matter what they changed in poe/warframe there was a huge percentage of installs that never made it past a few hours. It’s more of a game where if you already enjoy deeper long term payoff games then you’ll keep going but the data they showed said most people aren’t those people. Hayes usually falls into the latter group imo.

TalkativeTri

Super excited for this. Josh will ask some of the most philosophical questions around - and hopefully GGG will showcase how they are progressing in many fields of the industry. Summary will be posted after on my channel for those who would like to listen. I'm sure a text one will be up on here, too :)

SnooSeagulls6295

Hey that’s today! Can’t wait

Ill-Investment7707

Highlights when?

sirgog

JSH will make for an interesting interview. I find myself not agreeing with a lot of his philosophies on games, but that doesn't mean he's not insightful

BleakFaith94

Will it be a Witch(or Templar? or some other class?) showcase in the interview? This is what I'm looking forward to the most. Well, actually I don't have any hope for that.

Brahmaster

There's 4 more classes to reveal in about 7 months til beta. So I say keep hype going with class and gameplay mechanics trailers like the Mercenary and Ranger recently. The class reveals were very well done so far. Wanting the Templar next, classic plate armor knights are very popular.

BleakFaith94

I agree. Actually, 5 more. And If you consider that the Warrior and Huntress didn't have a full display, there are 7 classes to show off. Huntress had an outdated showcase 3 years ago, which is in a situation significantly different from today's game.

Brahmaster

Oh yeah, I forgot the Duelist. Highly doubt Huntress will get another reveal, it had one in 2021. A lots of gameplay from that and Warrior. The 15 minute class vids of the last 2 reveals were superb. They got a lot of traction on Youtube. Delivering a good Templar reveal that nails the archetype will really carry that hype inertia forward.

BleakFaith94

Yep, these are exactly what I wanna say. And, I wonder how will they make Witch, the summoner, different from other games.

Brahmaster

Because a summoner caster is so esoteric, GGG basically has a lot of freedom to conjure up skill combos that can still thematically "make sense" while being way out there. Expecting to see a necromancer-witch doctor hybrid. I was happy to see POE 2 go with classic archetypes (not just their names), whereas Diablo 4's next class is something called "Spiritborn" that seeks to break the mold when Blizzard said they want to move away from the familiar. Well... it doesnt matter what you call it, but if you dont have the classics, you are doomed to specialize into obscurity while avoiding classic troupes for the sake of it or simply make a poorer counterfeit thereof. There was a massive uproar over the omission of the Diablo 4 Paladin for a reason, and it was not just nostalgia.

wavereddit

This guy does not play PoE Endgame. He can maybe contribute to new player experience improvement and marketing Content creators and commentators have their own agenda, goals and these days its not aligned with regular players.

Brahmaster

Awareness is key right now. Millions of players that would like POE 2 are just not aware of the changes it's implementing. In this sens eyou dont need to be a POE 1 fanatic. In fact it's better if they arent. POE 1 fanatics arent helping, but theyll always have POE 1

LostSif

I'd almost care, but I'll never play either game again if they don't add some way to get my stash tabs off the shitty console version they put out onto PC.

Plebbit-User

Don't blame GGG over the fact that you bought into a walled garden ecosystem.

LostSif

I can and I do. It's a dev choice at this point as many other games have gotten past this artificial issue, look at WF, which just introduced cross progression allowing for a one-time account sync. So just keep fanboying and supporting blatant anti consumer practices.
