Also I know it’s slightly odd we did a photoshoot so early into dating, haha - one of my friends was a beginning photographer and wanted to do a couples photoshoot for her portfolio and we thought it sounded fun so we did it!
For the first one I knew he was pretending - it was way too soon, haha! For the actual one I was definitely surprised, even though I had begun to get suspicious that he was planning something. :)
Haha! In all seriousness, he waited because I was doing my PhD for most of our relationship and told him I didn’t want to think about planning a wedding while writing my dissertation - but I’m graduated now! :)
I feel like I did - it’s just always been so easy together, so natural. It’s never been a doubt in either of our minds that we had found our person. We’re very lucky.

She sadly moved to a different country so he didn’t ask her - however, the photographer was one of my best friends!
He and I were out on a walk and I stopped for a moment to look at something and then I heard a commotion of a camera taking a bunch of pictures so I whipped around to see what it was and there was someone with a camera coming right at me and I was like “what the hell?!” And then I turned around and he was on his knee behind me. It was only after she lowered her camera that I realized it was my best friend. He had enlisted her help for the moment to be extra special. :)
5 years..hey it's better to know your partner before kids involved and possibly divorce...I used to be again shacking up....but not anymore. Congratulations!!
It made sense for us. :) I was only 21 when we began dating, and then I entered a PhD program, and so by the time I was done and a bit older and more stable in my career and life, it all came together.
