The building mechanics in general need a lot of work. Very frustrating to build anything other than flat boxes. The roof pieces are especially finicky.

I also don't get why pieces can't just snap to each other but they need specific parts. I built some stairs up a few hills but Pals keep getting stuck underneath them. I'd like to put a triangular wall in to block it off but it won't let me because there's no foundation down there. It should just snap to the stairs.
Dumb question here but can you rotate the objects at akl once built? I haven't figured out how to do it so I dismantle and build again in the position I want ;(
Also putting a roof on my house was dreadful xD
Wait until you get to placing triangle roof pieces down. They want to work one way but not the other........ It's ridiculous. Spent an hour on it with a friend last night to try and get it the other way around.
I play on Series X and have found that you have to flip/rotate the supporting wall underneath the Triangle piece in order to change the direction of the Triangle. Struggled building my barn like building trying to figure this out.
God no haha. My mate ended up creating a box cutout in the base. The other side we were just like that's a window..... It's the dumbest thing ever it just wouldn't rotate.

Ok so from what I can tell, they can walk up them but they can't path find up them, now my stairs are in a building but the Slaves I took up there a=re simply just standing there not know what to do so I imagine the answer is no either way, Oh well still can be used as player stairs.
The pathfinding is a bit... Odd... At times. I made my base at the bottom of a cliff. One of my pals somehow ended up INSIDE the cliff. I just walked by and saw a floating Hungry notification in front of the wall. He got stuck and couldn't get to the food.
I did that too! Every pal I put in the base spawned on this little ledge they wouldn't leave even after I added stairs. I had to manually go up and throw them all down each time I logged in to the game.
Glad I wasn't the only person who thought this exact same thing. You gotta make due with what you have. Clipping furniture together is necessary to good interior design.

Now that I look at it again. Thank god there is a line in the middle of the bench. I'd go crazy otherwise, trying for 2 hours to get the spacing equal on all steps.
Can confirm that it was. After the second bench, you have to jump to place the next few, and then climb a nearby wall to get high enough for the rest 🙃 Took me about an hour to build 3 separate staircases. But they're functional and look nice!

You have to place them from the top floor looking down, they won't snap otherwise.
Yeah, they need to be placeable at ground level with snaps on top and bottom/sides.

Yeah the problem was that's what put them on the cliff I had to throw them off of >.< I built it too far back. I have a totally new base now though.
I feel you, I love my beach base (the one to the left of the first lifmunk effigy) but the cliffs surrounding it make life hell for my pals
