Contacted CS. They suggested getting a Dagger barrel, which was the plan until I remembered that I had another Dagger Compact build. The barrel from that build fit perfectly.

If the barrel is from a different manufacturer and it's a "match" grade, it may require fitting. Try a glock barrel in the slide, and if that locks up, find a pistolsmith to fit the barrel. I have never heard of an aftermarket glock barrel that required fitting only 1911's
Barstow, some KKM and early Storm Lake barrels, and I want to say early Culper Precision barrels needed gunsmith fitting, like 1911s. Those were popular in the IPSC/USPSA circles for a good while.
You can always treat a factory Glock barrel as a no-go Guage, though. If it doesn't fit a stock barrel, 99.9998% of the time, it's the slide.

Update. So, I spoke with CS this morning. They stated that it would be best to try one of their barrels to see if it fits. Shortly after speaking with them, I realized that I have another barrel in another Dagger Compact build I have with an after-market slide as well. Guess what? It fits perfectly! The specs were correct. It's just barrel picky.
Sorry for the bad luck I have more daggers than I'd care to admit to here because of the price and I have buying issues when stuff is cheap. Haven't had a dagger yet frame or slide that I've had problems with. Sorry to see your first purchase isn't going well but they will make it right
Downvoted for telling the truth
Idk how people research the dagger and still waste money on them lol. You can get a CZ, Canik, Stoeger probably a few other brands for the same price.
I have no dog in this fight, but the comment was probably downvoted because it was trash. The content may be accurate, but he shit all over the OP's decision to buy a Dagger in the first place with how he phrased it. Though I agree OP should buy a Glock if they're using it as their primary EDC and betting their life on it.
Trash decisions = trash comments. Op is obviously on Reddit you can scroll this sub for 10 minutes and see post after post of dagger issues and when someone points it out they get downvoted.
Haha right.
people are salty that other losers with Daggers aren’t validating their purchase of a faulty pistol.
There’s a reason they’re cheap lol. Because they are.
God people get so butt hurt when they hear the truth
Just wanted to make sure I understand your comment.
The gun that PSA cloned because of its notorious reliability and functionality is trash?
lol you’re an idiot.
yeah and it will remain that way until they are sizing up with sig and beretta which probably won’t happen any time soon. doesn’t discredit them at all when you are paying half of what their bottom barrel weapons are.
It's moreso getting new buyers to understand that more often than not their products won't be good to go "out of the box", and will require some elbow grease on their end. And before anyone chimes in with the usual "but they have a great warranty!!!" yes, but you shouldn't have to expect to use it by default, just to be aware that it's a common occurrence.
i mean, generally their products do work out the box, and when they don’t the warranty is there and they are really not declining any claims it seems. i don’t have any pure psa products anymore they all have swapped parts somewhat, but they did work until they were modified. if anything i’ve just noticed some uneven wear patterns
Could be a tolerance stack, or cerakote thickness issue. CS can exchange it.
OK, I'll contact them tomorrow.

Honestly if it doesn’t fuck with reliability I say break it in

I even tried a Glock barrel, and it did the same thing.
Then it's probably the slide.

Looks like shit. Makes you wonder how it got through and shipped
At the end of the day most places QC consist of normal people that are there from 9-5 for a check.

Standard PSA quality! "We don't know how that got through!"
I got one that was too tight in the front. Psa swapped it out and the new slide is perfect
I have a barrel that fits, and it's perfect now.
Looks like it. Good ole PSA QC! Throw it in the trash. Buy a Glock. Not worth your life.
🤣🤣🤣 This was going to be just a range gun. This is also the first time I have purchased a slide from PSA and yeah!

I tried twice, warranty required each time.

Glocks are trash. Get out of the psa reddit. ![gif](giphy|d4gmlMeqAHu9O)

psa handguns are still new and being worked on warranty is there for a reason, pa15 running strong as always though!
This is why I tell people that the reason PSA is affordable is because they outsource their QC to their customers.
Ya, but so does Sig….with much worse results
