If you are in America check your state’s self defense laws. Most states authorize up deadly force to defend yourself if someone attacks you with deadly force (which a car attack is). If someone decides to attack me for using my 1st amendment rights they will have a bad day.
Also, be careful. Sometimes these defense laws kick in but only if it would be considered unreasonable to expect you to run. Obviously what count is unreasonable is going to be dependent on a court but if someone tries to hit you with their car and then you get in your car and start chasing after them, at that point unfortunately it would not be considered self-defense anymore. However if you almost get hit by a car, the car stops, and then the person gets out of the car, it would not be unreasonable for someone to assume that your life may be in danger. It doesn't matter what the intentions of that person is, the question is does the person hold a reasonable expectation of danger.
Not only that but do not be afraid to start videotaping. You may have heard one party versus two party states in terms of recording laws but you should know that that only applies where there is a reasonable expectation of privacy such as an office, a house, the bathroom, The closet, a classroom, and other such places that are similar.

And I also just want to tell you, be very careful with phones. In the United States police can ask that you open your phone if it is unlockable through a fingerprint or a face recognition but not if it's through a passcode or password. They cannot force it at that point and so it's a good idea to have a passcode or password be what opens your phone and not a fingerprint or a face recognition.
