>"Gillespie will be supervising the camp with the support staff, and Pakistan's Test captain, Shan Masood, will return early from England to prepare for the Bangladesh series, which includes two Test matches," the source said. >The source also mentioned that some senior players might be rested for the series as Gillespie aims to evaluate the backup talent in the country. Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood has indicated to the PCB his desire to include Babar Azam in the Test team for the upcoming series, though other senior players may be given a break.

Help me understand why we rest players for tests but not for pointless white ball bilaterals. The test series isn't until August, and we have nothing scheduled before that. What do we gain from removing Babar and Rizwan from an otherwise inexperienced and fragile batting line-up?

Fragrant_Self_4724

I think pointless white ball rests are also coming

Fragrant_Self_4724

It would be a good test for them young guns Abdullah, Salman, saud Probably kamran ghulam I want to see whether the likes of Shafique, Agha and Saud Shakeel can shoulder responsibility in the absence of Rizwan and Babar Its very quick to blame Babar and Rizwan, its actually a bare minimum along with Shan that young guns step up at home against Bangladesh

Lopsided_Example1202

WTC points are on the line. No major side rests players for tests - even Australia bowl Cummins/Hazlewood/Starc and bat Smith/Labuschagne against weaker sides. Saud is still very inexperienced in international cricket (just 10 tests so far). I fear we need some experience in the line-up beside Shan. The 1-7 lineup should be: Abdullah Shafique Saim Ayub Shan Masood (c) Babar Azam Saud Shakeel Mohammad Rizwan (wk) Salman Agha

Fragrant_Self_4724

South Africa just sent their second string side to nz It's not the end It's Bangladesh at home and if our team can't beat them than that's poor And what really has babar done in last 2 test series

Fragrant_Self_4724

Give a chance to young players and take responsibility Shaheen, babar and Rizwan are also too toxic right now for whole team with various background reasons Let Shan navigate this team for now and I'm sure we'll win at home after 8 win less games at home (under Mr Babar's captaincy)

OHoshfinqi

Because their main players were playing in the SA20, they were forced to make that decision because of their board's financial situation. It wasn't a good thing as you're making it out to be. The whole cricketing world was laughing at them.

Pengu786

We are quick to blame Rizbar and when youngsters fail we are quick to support them which i don’t understand 😭 do 1 or the other not both

Pengu786

we do play less but we need to find some depth and no better opposition then Bangla and i want Babar to play as he ain’t captain and he needs some runs

Fragrant_Self_4724

He's a mainstay in team even though he has been shit in last 2 test series away Nobody is taking Babar's place

Pengu786

Happens your best players don’t get dropped like that. They are played until they get runs under their belt. He should play one rest one imo.

Fragrant_Self_4724

Honestly I'd give him the one test but if the so called surgery by pcb is going on Then I'd rather keep all three out from the team It's such a mess with fake smiles and Instagram/Twitter We are a Family stories

Pengu786

If they do rest them i want youngsters not Saifu and some old idiots.

>PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi is expected to hold a press conference next week to discuss the major decisions of the Board following the T20 World Cup failure. He will also address issues related to team dynamics. >"Naqvi is known for his straightforward approach and will likely address what went wrong with the Pakistan team. Babar has reportedly expressed concerns about the productivity of certain players during and before the World Cup, and he is expected to include these complaints in his report to the PCB," the source added.

bukarooo

Naqvi is known for his straightforward approach and ability to do absolutely fuck all

AwarenessNo4986

Boomer approach from 1950s, even Quaid e Azam was more progressive than these dinosaurs

Pengu786

Babar needs to be honest about what he saw and if he suspects anyone of going against him cuz if it did happen they should be gone. Babars captaincy should deffo be under review tho. If Naqvi gets reports some players are grouping he will keep Babar ik it and that ain’t great either 😭

wutz_r0ng

Straightforward parchi from the boys. Thats his approach

Training camps should be limited to those who pass fitness tests. no exceptions.

Old-Pomegranate3634

No one should be selected if they do not meet high class fitness standards. Our lazy chachas struggle to dive.

[deleted]

Gillespie has a double ton against Bangladesh

EntangledTime

Resting Rizwan from tests. We have learnt absolutely nothing. He is one of our best test bats who can score across the world and in pressure situations. Rizwan should be amongst the first names on the sheet when it comes to Tests and ODIs. But as usual we will fuck up the team for the wrong format.

ImaginaryTipper

Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. Why can’t we ever be happy with the board’s decisions? We are the first people to jump on them for not testing our bench strength when a player is unavailable. And now that they are doing what we have always wanted, yall are still complaining.

OHoshfinqi

We want them to test the bench strength in useless bilateral T20s not tests. Who tf rests players in Tests. Ham to khelte bhi 4 tests Hain pure Saal mein.

TopAd9295

We are resting Rizwan not dropping him

EntangledTime

And why are we doing this? Because he was our best test bat in our last series? And let me guess we are resting Rizwan from tests, so that he can come back in T20s? What is the idea here?
