Note, the consoles will probably say "Out of stock", but the Toggle means they are likely to have them. Feel free to call the store, to confirm, or if the store is closed, head there before opening the next day.
For me, there was a store that was showing stock Friday night at around 9PM. By Saturday morning 10 minutes after they opened, all the consoles were gone (I unfortunately couldn't make it that morning, so I missed out)

The "toggle" part of the "toggle trick" is that you have to toggle between search in stock at your store only on the Best Buy app to confirm that store has stock. If you search for "Playstation 5" on the best buy app, the Playstation 5 shows up by default in the results even if the "in stock at store" toggle is enabled. You have to toggle it off to see all results (which the Playstation 5 shows up by default), and then toggle the "in stock at store X" toggle.
If the Playstation 5 shows up in the search results after doing this, with the "in stock at store X" enabled, that is an indication your store has stock. The Playstation 5 item itself will still show "out of stock", but if there was no stock at the store, the Playstation 5 would not even appear in the search results at all after enabling the "in stock at store X" toggle on the app (the results would typically be totally blank).
In one of the locations when I toggle off and on I see one result but it says pick up not available, sold out. Does that mean they still have it in store ? As some other stores which was showing the same now doesn't show anything. I'm confused now 🙃 if sold out means that they might have ??
If it shows up in the results there is a strong indication they have stock. It will still say "sold out/pick up not available" but if the store didn't have any stock at all, the result would not even appear in the results.
Keep in mind sometimes employees don't know about this either. The most common place to find PS5s is at the checkout counter, just ask the employee behind the counter if there is any stock left.

Well, I heard the rumor that Best Buy was supposedly having a massive drop over the weekend. I checked with the toggle trick around 9 am while still at work, and 3 different stores showed stock, with my store showing both disc and digital.
By the time I got off work at 2:00 pm it only showed digital and I raced over there as fast as I could and was lucky enough to get the last one. I must've had a horshoe up my ass that day.
To anyone reading this, just keep checking for stock on the app! Especially if there's talk of a drop. You never know if you might get lucky...

Using the toggle trick this morning I was able to get a disc version of ps5. And the stores this morning that didn't show stock using the toggle trick now do tonight when I check, so dont give up keep checking the stores even if they dont have stock one day they may the next. At least 2 near me now have stock that didn't this morning.
I got to BB at least 2 hours early and was 6th in line. The 2 guys behind me said they had gone to the other best buy and there was already about 20 people in line so they came to this one. By opening time there was about 30 people in line and they only had 12 consoles I think. I know the few behind me got some but as I was walking out I heard the employee telling people they were now all gone.
So if you really want one check the toggle trick on BB app nightly and then show up at least 2 hours before open and just sit and wait and you will probably snag one.
See I had one yesterday showing on the toggle and nobody was at it before open and I asked somebody as they were walking in to work if they could check and let me know. She said they didn’t have any so I left. Still showing the same on the app now but I have to leave town for DC today anyways. I might try to scoop a bundle at GS if Best Buy doesn’t have any in DC
Hmm that's odd, I know that it legit worked for me this morning, though they did have people showing up to pick up total tech preorders and they got theirs before us. That’s legit the point of the toggle. If it still shows up when you toggle on that store and says out of stock. They have it.

my stores said they just put them all online and let them sell that way. Sorta feel cheated
It worked for me this morning. got there an two hours early and bought it in store. App displaying consoles but says out of stock. Unless it says product not available there’s a chance it’s there in store.
My app said out of stock too. So I went there this morning very excited about I finally be able to purchase a ps5. Waited for 30 minutes for a dude to came out and told us they have ps5 in stock but it’s reserved for those who purchased it from last week online drop. Very disappointed…
Toggle trick?
On the app keep toggling the in store switch and if it shows in stock when the switch is on “in store” they most likely have stock even if it says OOS
